:biglove :biglove
I know. :biglove back then? Nothing could've broken R&H up but "death"...

I know some R&Hers who's still bitched over the 1985 story but the truth of the matter? R&H came out of it much stronger for it. couples needs some type of angst or they would grow stale and boring from all the happiness....

There are things I wished for in the story, such as Emma Samms staying and not going off for Dynasty (crap) sorry, I didn't want her to leave, nor did I like Dynasty.

And wished it could've ended with R&H having a kid..Otherwise? I'd no complaint of the story itself.

See that story didn't bother me either, I saw right away that Robert loved Holly and was more ashamed to tell her about Anna because what he did for her and was afraid holly would think differntly about him, Plus i never saw Robert being torn between the 2 it was alway's Holly for him and it just stunk that ES was filming Dynasty at the same time so they couldn't use her as much for the story but i liked the story and also the song playing for R&H at the time too, ''The greatest love affair of them all'''''..So true!!!
I loved how all the couples had their very, own special songs, I know they can't do it now because those songs are uber expensive now but those romantic songs? Added to the very romantic couple, it made their romantic love story even more romantic and memorable.

Back to Robert/Holly ? There were never a time in the story where I thought Robert loved Anna over Holly. I was more fearful because of Emma leaving (Dynasty) and I knew they had to end them, so putting them together default. That was my biggest fear in the whole story, plus the lacked of Holly in the story was my biggest gripe but again that was because of Emma's deal with Dynasty. But I liked the story for Robert.

That was the thing that irked me the most too - the lack of airtime for Holly (Emma) - but that was due to Dynasty. Anna kept showing up all the time but we never got our typical Robert/Holly moments. Those moments were the best because TR and ES were so good at those "little" scenes. That's what I missed the most. And then the storyline was wrapped up so quickly (because ES was going to Dynasty) that we missed a lot of the "little" scenes again. Oh well. At least they respected Robert & Holly enough to ride them off into the sunset even though TR and ES weren't leaving at the same time. Kudos to Gloria Monty.
Hated the lacked of Holly in the story but we know if she was staying? She would've been all over it. I was so used to R&H doing everything together that when they weren't it was missed.

Not bad, all considering he was gone for that part of 87.

I don't know if it was so much that GH was weak as it was that DAYS was unfire. They discovered the supercouple formula by copying GH. But they just tweaked it a bit better and there were supercouples everywhere on that show. Once GM left GH, GH got out of the supercouple game although Wendy Riche gave us a little bit different supercouple in Sonny & Brenda. But DAYS stayed the course for a long time and it paid off in all the Daytime TV polls and Soap Opera Awards. Oddly enough, it never did translate too much in the ratings game.
