My only complaint is Celia/Grant otherwise? I agree wholeheartedly with the list esp Robert/Holly :biglove

DOOL has always had more of a diehard 80s fans than any other soap. I think it was due to its supercouple mantra. Don't get me wrong, other shows had their supercouples, but no other show had as many or focused on them as much as DOOL. IMO Other shows had other things going for them like story and character as well, where as DOOL's main priority was the supercouple, which generated the more diehard fans that vote in those kind of magazine polls and are now apart of the internet fandom etc.

I don't know if it was so much that GH was weak as it was that DAYS was unfire. They discovered the supercouple formula by copying GH. But they just tweaked it a bit better and there were supercouples everywhere on that show. Once GM left GH, GH got out of the supercouple game although Wendy Riche gave us a little bit different supercouple in Sonny & Brenda. But DAYS stayed the course for a long time and it paid off in all the Daytime TV polls and Soap Opera Awards. Oddly enough, it never did translate too much in the ratings game.
Sonny and Brenda were really different from the typical 80's supercouple on any of the shows, which is probably why they were such a hit. It was something different.

DAYS had a lot of the younger demo, but the overrall ratings were rather average, and DAYS always did real poor come Emmy and critics time.

Quoting limited to 4 levels deep
Yep, the writing for Duke has been horrible. I don't know how he was when he first came on.
Duke was better written in the 80s. Under RC? He is bland and boring.
He's like a robot under RC.
There's no emotion from him at all.
I told Ian that I want him either on Y&R or B&B, I don't resonate with the character he is on GH.
