I guess Monty was gone from GH around this time?
Monty left GH Jan of 1987
Actually Monty left in Dec 1986 her last shows which was the very conclusion of the Mr.B played out in Jan..
According to Wes Kenney, she only stayed as long as she did because she was waiting for his Y&R contract to be up so he could take over for her on GH.

Gloria Monty didn't like the writers and actors to communicate, so much so that she put duck tape on the floor where they couldn't past a certain line.

I guess Monty was gone from GH around this time?
I don't know if it was so much that GH was weak as it was that DAYS was unfire. They discovered the supercouple formula by copying GH. But they just tweaked it a bit better and there were supercouples everywhere on that show. Once GM left GH, GH got out of the supercouple game although Wendy Riche gave us a little bit different supercouple in Sonny & Brenda. But DAYS stayed the course for a long time and it paid off in all the Daytime TV polls and Soap Opera Awards. Oddly enough, it never did translate too much in the ratings game.
Sonny and Brenda were really different from the typical 80's supercouple on any of the shows, which is probably why they were such a hit. It was something different.
Believe it or not? This is precisely why I liked Robert/Holly over most of the super couples, because they didn't followed the usual super couple path...I liked L&L because they kicked it off and they were the only the original, all the other super couples including Bo & Hope set off to followed the path L&L started....Robert/Holly were the exception because they became a super couple and a very, very romantic one while they were married, they didn't have the big lavish wedding either....They were totally out of left field and a complete shocker.

Frisco/Tania over Frisco/Felicia?

Pete/Melissa and Grant/Celia? Please. I think they just made the list cause they were on popular shows.

Surprised Quint/Nola and Steve/Betsy are still relevant by 1985.

Quoting limited to 4 levels deep
Duke was better written in the 80s. Under RC? He is bland and boring.
He's like a robot under RC.
There's no emotion from him at all.
I told Ian that I want him either on Y&R or B&B, I don't resonate with the character he is on GH.
I hope he ends up on the new Twin Peaks, if it's even still happening.

Nice to see Philece Sampler there... I always thought it was dumb to kill off her character and pair Tony with Anna instead.
