Finola said she didn't want to be treated like the "girl" in the all boy group and she went to Wes Kenney to complain, so that's why all the men treated her like a dude. Robert treated her like that too. Anna was his "mate".

Robert was overly protective of Holly because he loved her so much. He wasn't that way with Anna....maybe because he didn't love her as much.
Because she was trained, strong and he considered her his equal. She could take care of herself and didn't need her daddy.
Actually I don't think that's it. Robert thought of Anna as a "mate". He said it more than once. Holly was "the love of his life" and couldn't bear for her to be hurt. That's the difference.
Then if Holly loved him so much, why wasn't she so worried he would be hurt? He was out in more dangerous stuff than she was.

Robert admited Holly was a fantastic detective. He just didn't want her in danger. She helped solve a lot of cases- which is impressive for someone who isn't trained. She also showed she could take care of herself...Mexico and in the spa. Robert was impressed. Even the mexican police wanted to offer Holly a job

It's funny because despite her training, Anna seemed to cry an awful lot when she came on the show. She also didn't work while married to Robert. and now, it's easier to count the scenes Anna isn't tearing up- because there are so few. And it's about to get worse. If someone is trained and a professional, they should be able to contain how they feel.
He didn't want her working at a desk job with Sean. He also agreed when Holly said that he just wanted his wife to stay home and wait for him and he said exactly.
See, you watch that scene out of context. It was more to it on why Robert was opposed to Holly working with Sean.

Thank you :bigsmile
HE was also alway's worried about his lady getting involved with cases :biglove
Yeah GH was very unoriginal that way. It's always the same issues with all their couples going back to L&L and probably even before that.

Frisco was protective of Felicia but as far as 80s males go I'd say he was probably the most progressive one of that 80s group. Come to think of it, it was Felicia that always went overboard trying to keep Frisco out of danger which was never gonna happen and she really should've just accepted that's one of the things she found attractive about him from go. But that's fine, I'll accept that kind of angst over romantic rival angst any day.

That kind of stuff will always get recycled though. They were doing it with Dante and Lulu also. It's just the couple dynamics and storylines that change.

Thank you :bigsmile

If the person doing gifs is still around, would you consider doing another?

Here's Felicia trying to get Frisco to let her "help" on a case by distracting the hell out of the poor man! Would love a gif of him snacking on her arm: https://youtu.be/o-TMWkSZnys?t=1m15s

Yup Yup. No Problem

:score

Robert did treat Holly in a very paternal, patronizing manor.
Yea, right. Use that speech on how you felt Anna was treated..But as for Holly? She was treated like a queen..Robert treated Holly like a woman he was truly in love with.
Nah, he treated Holly like she was a doormat he could control.

Not all women want to be treated like a delicate flower that can't think for herself.
