Luke fell in love with Laura because she reminded him of his mom http://www.tvinsider.com/article/1170/general-hospital-anthony-geary-luke-killer-secret/ |

Bobbie acted like she originally thought her mom died because of an appendix bursting because of Tim beating up the wife, but that is NOT what the original back story was at all. Lena was having stomach cramps for months and didn't say anything to the dad, not wanting to go to the hospital to explain bruises from other incidents, not wanting him to get in a drunken, angry fit. That's why she died of an appendix burst. When Tim found this out, he left Luke and Bobbie out GUILT, feeling he was responsible for the death of the mother. That was Marland's backstory, which made Tim and Lena had more believable motives like real characters, rather than just plot points for Luke's story like RC wrote it. Tim was not guilty in RC's version, we never saw any sign Lena was struggling with the truth and the affect it all had on her. Marland was able to get all that across without any flashbacks, where RC failed. Don't get me wrong, it was alright on a superficial level, but I feel like it took a very compelling well-written backstory and made it one dimensional. |

I agree. She's no longer treated as a lead on the show. |

I think Finola knows that and that's why she put herself in the supporting place. |

Why do people hound the other actors about someone else employment? It's not like they can do anything about it. Some people asking MB about Ian being let go. |

Well we all knew there wouldn't be a lot of depth to this story. This is Ron. Not Douglas. But for Ron's ability the story was pretty good. But like everyone else here said, tomorrow it's back to the shitter. |

So, basically, fans were figuring out this was Bill Eckert so Ron changed the storyline (which didn't make sense). I hate when writers think the viewers don't remember anything. |

And Tony thinks we fans are stuck in the past?!? He just makes things up as he goes along. I can't believe how much he rewrites Luke's past in his own head.
