I'm betting it is Duke. It's one last bone to throw the fans before he dies. RC has done this before |

Maybe, but I think I'd prefer Sloane. |

TG might believe that but the fans don't. |

Some fans do too. They've basically took Laura out of Luke's life and put Tracy in her place. Tracy has been there for Luke during every, single crisis that this old fool has been through, From the heart attacks to poisoning to the DID or whatever went on with him now. Luke said it today, that Tracy get him or something along those words. |

In every crisis, Tracy was a bit player. Luke is the main event and Tracy barely gets any dialogue. When you look at LnL stories, Laura got almost as much dialogue and a POV as Luke did. Most people still see Tracy as Luke's personal check book and enabler. Luke can say whatever he likes, but no one buys Tracy as Luke's real love. Even now, people are saying, "yeah Tracy is okay but Laura should have been there." |

A vintage ep of GH from '83 appeared on Wednesday's shocking episode of The Americans. Scott and Susan Moore! |

I think by 1979/1980, P&G were looking to at the amazing numbers the ABC soaps, especially GH, were doing and looked to leverage some of that formula, with more simplistic and OTT plots, comedic characters, action/adventure, and the focus on young, pretty actors. At that time point, I don't think TPTB were interested on focusing on the more complex characters that the Dobsons had written for and/or introduced. |
