My favorite 80s couple was Robert and Holly, so I'd have to pick 1984 as the most perfect year. They were in between third parties (Luke, Anna). The relationship was terrific, imo. Stories and acting were good. Wardrobe? Well, it was the 80s. Worst? Probably mid 1985. The secret ex-wife stuff was in full swing, RnH were separated, and Emma had the awful red Fallon tint in her hair. *shudders*

My favorite couple was Anna and Duke. Sept 87 through Feb 88 were their happiest. Anna and Duke happiness went downhill pretty fast. |

Anyone check out GettyImages? They have a bunch of cool old pics http://www.gettyimages.com/Search/Search.aspx?contractUrl=2&language=en-US&family=editorial&assetType=image&p=%22General+Hospital%22+ABC#93 |

Thanks for the link. I went through a few of the pages. This one was short of shocking as it has some of today's GH stars mixed with 1984 GH. http://www.gettyimages.com/Search/Search.aspx?contractUrl=2&language=en-US&family=editorial&assetType=image&p=%22General+Hospital%22+ABC&esource=linkconn&aid=39902&asid=94532#85 |

Felicia did not leave Maxie when she was a child. So, Garin is following Guza's all vets parents are deadbeat parents manual? If so, then I have no hope for this show. |

Yeah I don't get why images from current GH are tagged as being from 1987, but oh well. I wonder why they stopped at '84 with the pics? Edited by cece, September 5, 2011, 1:43 am.

I think it's because GW didn't start writing for GH until the 90s. There's really no hope for any 80s vets.

KW is mis-tagged. She was "Kristina Malandro" in '84. She still had her starter husband then.

I thought the storylines on GH in the 80s were really cartoonish. A weather machine? Some wonky sword from a country nobody heard of? Oil in Port Charles? An energy disk that the Russians wanted? Come on. I don't know why this era is considered the best.

What's wrong with cheese and comic book stories? They were entertaining. If you look at the box office, the most popular movies are superhero movies. They comic book stories were very well plotted too. They made sure to have enough recaps so viewers didn't get lost but it never got too repetitive as the story was always moving. You could tell they planned out their stories much more in advanced back then compared to now. Nowadays it's characters having the same conversations about possibly doing something without steps to a story like there used to be. There is hardly any story at all, it's mostly a bunch of talking and doing nothing. |
