On the flip side in re: Robert's friendships, there are numerous fans who didn't start watching GH until the mid 80s and they prefer Robert's best friend forever friendship with Sean over the one with Luke. Personally, I know more Rob/Sean FF over Luke/Rob FF.. I loved both friendships but much prefer his friendship/mentored/Older bro with Frisco followed by bff relationship Sean. The Robert/Anna/Sean friendship were fantastic too.
Imo, Luke and Robert beat out Robert and Sean and his "old buddy" crapola. Sean was an ass.
Sean started out as a real slimey snake in the grass, but he certainly didn't stay that way. There are WAY too many scenes, where he actually had Robert's back and was a true friend, it's odd that some people to still hold his beginning against him. He brought me to tears when he broke down after it was announced that R&A were presumed dead.
I agree with the other poster. Sean was two faced. Even when it came to his supposed good buddies, R&A.
Well, maybe he was two-faced with Anna, but I still don't considered it two-faced. He was just being honest and wanted to protect him. There's no episodes with Sean making accusations about Robert's behind his back.
Really? All the things Sean was up to when he was introduced in 1984 and all the way up through 1985 behind Robert's back wasn't being two-faced? All righty then. Whatever. Sean Donely is hardly worth fighting about. Exactly. And that's not even mentioning the fact that Sean had Robert's wife kidnapped and left her for dead. Slimy.

Sean Donely is hardly worth fighting about. See, there you go. Only pointing out all the bad things he done in 84/85, when he started on the show, I even acknowledged that he was a snake in the grass during those times. And even then, he didn't want his best friend in the world dead. His chilling scream(Scorpioooooooooooooo) when he thought he'd knocked Robert off the tram. And you just totally neglected to mention any and all things from 86 to 92. Did you stop watching GH in 85? Because you're still holding his beginning against him. and how fair is that? Most all the characters we loved were bad or slimey in the beginning..Holly, Anna, Luke, Duke etc etc..The list go on and on. 1987, in particular really highlighted Sean and Robert friendship.

Not the other poster, but I stopped watching GH in 1991 or '92. And I never bought Sean's redemption. He always had such a slimy, insincere smile. You always wondered what he was really up to.

I always wanted to stick my foot through the TV every time Sean called Robert "old buddy." That grated on my nerves. It was like he took every opportunity to remind Robert they were friends.

Personally, I didn't think that Sean was the greatest friend to Robert. But that's okay with me. I enjoyed never totally knowing what Sean was up to. In a lot of ways, Sean was a great friend to Robert but there was always that other side to him where you knew Sean wasn't totally being honest with Robert. I still enjoyed the friendship.

I just have disdain for the misinformation's said about some of these characters and I'll always add my 0.02 to these topic. No fighting from me....Just friendly posting with the facts as I know it. I never took a GH break throughout the 80s and early 90s. So, I pretty much know everything from that time frame.

HATEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE they threw him under the bus to redeemed Duke. The actor was really devastated about it. He said it at a fan event. He didn't like the turn of event.
