1987 Exit: Left for WSB training with Felicia's blessings, went missing and presumed dead. 1991 Exit: Left to protect his family from a threat from his past. Sent for his wife and baby a few months later. 1994 Exit: Divorced off-screen at her request, temporary visit but explicit mention of ongoing off-screen communication. 1995 Exit: Still divorced, asked to stay, but left with ex wife's blessings to stop an imminent terrorist attack. OFFSCREEN BS 2013 Exit: Returned to the WSB after being rejected by his ex wife even though his daughter begged him to stay. Onscreen Frisco was never written as heartless until 2013. It was a dick move proposing to Felicia at the NB and a pussy move running out after her rejection. Whatever else Frisco was, he wasn't that and he was never heartless until the moment he told his only living daughter there was nothing left for him while she stood there pleading that she needed him. So yeah, I have a big problem with his 2013 exit. Because it gives people like you affirmation on the OOC OFFSCREEN BS characterization that tragically went on for years.
You know what I see? A weak husband and terrible father who took his parenting cues from his woman and choose work over family time and again. Pathetic. Even Luke didn't take that route. When Laura kicked him out in 95 and absolved him of his responsibilities to the kids, telling him he could lead the life of danger if he wanted to, he told her hell no and that nobody was going to stop him from seeing his kids.
Luke dumped Lulu on Lesley's doorstep because he couldn't be bothered with her after Laura got sick and has also said he never even wanted kids that was all laura. That's why I said "even Luke".
You missed the point. Luke was offered the same choice by his great love as Frisco did, and he told her NO, that no matter what happened in their relationship Laura giving him permission to leave his kids for a life of adventure and risk wasn't going to happen.
So will some non-blind Frisco fan explain to me why, if he was such a great dad, he didn't do the same? If he wanted to be with his kids it wouldn't have mattered what Felicia said.

Speaking of Robert and Anna being in the explosion with Faison, I watched that storyline and really loved it. I especially noticed how they moved Mac into the Frisco's position in their group.
The young, daring renegade but in Mac's case he was real family.
"Real family?" Why? Because he was blood? And yet the opposite argument is always used to support his relationship with Frisco's girls. Mac failed in the "Frisco position". Failed. No head writer was ever interested in writing for him ever again.
You obviously stopped watching if you seriously believe no headwriter ended up writing for Mac after 1991/92.
Please tell me what memorable front burning stories were written for Mac.
Now we're moving goalposts.
Typical.

Young daring renegade Mac Scorpio was a momentary blip in his 20+ years history on the show. They tried to make him a romantic leading man in the footsteps of his iconic brother and it didn't take. He'll be remembered fondly as Uncle Mac, perfect father/mother, ineffectual police chief, Maxie's chief coddler, and Felicia's safe choice.

Please tell me what memorable front burning stories were written for Mac. You hit the nail on the head. I like JJY, because I think he is really nice guy but the character of Mac was a failure to me. All the issues with Robin after Robert/Anna left centered on Stone and then Sonny (as usual). Mac was always a bystander/supporting player even with the stories involving Maxie, Georgie Felicia. No HW writer wrote for Mac, he was never the lead. Mac was part of the story (not the story, ever).

Now we're moving goalposts. Typical. Is it a difficult question? We say all the time that this writer or this writer isn't interested in so-and-so. And we say that because they're not getting meaty stories. Give me something highlight reel memorable to explain 20 plus years on contract.

Now we're moving goalposts. Typical. NOP, I don't think they did. The goal posts were Frisco, and by some extension Robert and Anna. These characters were leads, that had storylines centered around them by the HW. Mac never had that, he always had a supporting role. Of course he was written in (not for), since he has been on the show for 24 years.

I didn't miss any thing both Frisco and then Luke were written to not give a damn about there children when the opposite was on screen and the writers took the lazy horrible writing to write of Frisco but I guess they didn't want to do another Back from the dead story for frisco if JW ever returned.

Because Tony Geary was on contract with GH and Jack Wagner was on contract with MP.
So unless you recast Jack Wagner, fire Kristina Wagner or kill off the Jones girls, the only other option was to create a credible back story for Frisco's absence. Which they didn't do.
