Luke seemed to think Holly cheated on him when she married Robert during the time he let everyone think he was dead. Yet he seemed to take Laura's relationship with Stavros without railing at her. In 1983, that is. Later on, he changed his tune.
Because it had been a shorter time he had been "dead" when he came back for Holly. Only a few months! And she had spread her legs for his friend. Laura, he couldn't have qualms about because it had been a couple years and he had other women too. Luke didn't have any women during his months he was presumed dead. Luke changed his tune when he found out Laura had a kid with him. Robert was Holly's husband. There was no cheating, except in Luke's head. And he sure wanted to know details, didn't he?

THIS TIME I'M REALLY GOING TO DO IT!
In it's final (and, as often happens, weakest) season, my all-time favorite sitcom, SOAP, featured a character named Leslie (Marla Pennington, who went on to greater fame as the mom in Small Wonder), with a tendency to break into rooms shrieking, "This time I'm really going to do it!" threatening to commit suicide in a series of more and more bizarre ways, and always failing spectacularly.
For the last month, I've been saying I'm going to close submissions for Soap Opera 451: A Time Capsule of Daytime Drama's Greatest Moments, but then another great one would come in, and I'd keep it open "just a few days longer."
Well, this time, I'm really going to do it. I have to. As an enhanced e-book, Soap Opera 451 needs to be not just edited like a print work, but also formatted, coded and uploaded in time for a September 2011 publication.
So, this time, I'm really going to do it. This coming Monday, August 8, 2011, is absolutely the last day I can accept your submissions and comments on scenes that show daytime at the very top of it's game. (The ones below are definitely going to be featured in the book, and thus most likely to include your thoughts. But, if you've got others, we're still open to hearing them - for the next few days. No more. I promise, tech guys!)
So far, I can tell you that CarJack (ATWT) fans lead the pack with most memories of their favorites, followed by BJ's heart (GH), Karen on the stand (OLTL), The Slut of Springfield and Otalia (GL).
Are you going to let that record stand?
We want to hear from fans of all the shows! But, it's got to happen now! (E-mail me at AlinaAdams@gmail.com!)
Still looking for further comments on:
GH: Stone and Robin AMC: Bianca comes out to Erica OLTL: Marty's rape DARK SHADOWS: Barnabas/Maggie/Josette PC: Kevin mourns Eve AMC: Laura's death OLTL: Bo and Nora's wedding DOOL: "Roman" sees a presumed dead Marlena alive on the pier Y&R: David's KILLER plastic surgery, the masquerade ball and death by garbage chute DOOL: Eileen Davidson plays five different roles - and lives to tell about it! GL: Olivia and Natalia's romance Y&R: Dru/Neil/Malcolm and Lily's paternity reveal EON: Draper's Great Train Escape

All the magazines heralded Robert and Holly as the best love story of 1983 and you're saying Holly "spread her legs" for Luke's best friends. Hmm...could you be an R&A fan?

There were times I liked Sean and times I hated him. I don't think he was the best guy. I hated that he cheated on Tiffany. I didn't like his start either. Sean could be a big jerk.
I swear some of these writers sure know how to ruined these characters with infidelity. Honestly, It make no sense, really, Sean didn't cheat on Tiffany with they were just boyfriend and girlfriend, why in heaven's name would he cheat on her as his wife? He had the opportunity to cheat on Tiffany many times with Greta, Cheryl (before he knew Tiffany & Cheryl were sis) The Chinese woman that was Faison's lady, and S&T were having serious problem b/c Sean was doing something crooked and being secretive.
Different writers. I personally hate when couples cheat. It's such a weak tool for causing angst. Think of something different, writers.
Do you think it's cheating when a husband or wife moved on b/c he/ or she think their spouse is dead? Or how about when the presumed dead spouse moved on with another knowing full well that he or she is still married. Is that consider cheating?
The first one is definitely not cheating. I'm not sure about the 2nd one.
That's what happened with R&H, when a writer took it upon his or herself to rewrite Gloria Monty carefully crafted back story for her. So, in truth R&H were ruined before WAY Guza ever put his pen to them. The only reason R&H legacy last as long as it did was b/c we had a strong actor protecting it. Once that actor left, R&H legacy went down the drain and they became just another couple. Sad but true. Nothing is sacred with writers that are creative bankrupt.
I'm confused. How were R&H ruined way before Guza got a hold of them?
Infidelity.
RnH were never unfaithful to each other before Guza's hack job.
I think they were referring to the fact Holly had other lovers when she knew Robert was alive and they were still married. Holly never had lovers while she knew Robert was alive. (See the scenes from 1992). Again, the so-called unfaithfulness (which I still don't buy) happened under Guza's pen.

Guys,
You'll need to run not walk to the nearest Walmart, CVS, Walgreen, etc etc and pick up the newest SOD and read Leslie Charleson interview. She had me LMAO about Guza's writing..She said Guza had them looking like fools with his scripts. And she said, she got to the point of thinking she would rather not be onscreen then to looks like a fools saying those lines. Honestly, it's a good read and worth the 3.99.
Another thing Leslie said that stood out to me. She said was embarrassed of some of the stuff they had to say and do. And that made me think of all the other 80s fan favorites that have returned. I bet they all were embarrassed with the crap Guza had them doing and saying too. I'm sure they did as well. Emma said her stint on GH in 2009 was the worst moment of her career.

Luke just looked like a perv with all his questions.

Seriously. How can you cheat on your boyfriend with your husband? Luke just looked like a perv with all his questions. Luke did. But I loved the entire storyline. As much as I didn't want Holly to go back to Luke, I felt for Luke. It was a really well-written storyline.

Luke's words and questions.
"I bet you two couldn't keep you hands off each other"
It was mighty convenience to have my best friend here to comfort you.
How did it feel to make love to Holly Sutton? "I know my friend" "Marriage is not for him but he LOVE what go along with a marriage"
You're always thinking Robert, that's why I like you, Were you thinking. I want Holly Sutton and I'm going to have her, just as soon as I get ole curly top out the way.

That was AFTER she thought Robert died in the explosion. Watch the scenes in 1992 when Robert and Holly have dinner and she tells him "there hasn't been anyone else". Good try, though.
