I'm not bashing GF but can someone tell me what's the differnce between recurring and coming back for short arc's because she has no problem doing that ..Is it a money thing?
If you're recurring, you get paid for the day's work, so basically you're a ay player waiting to get called in for an assignment. If you're on a contract, however briefly, you get paid a set amount regardless of how many days you work. So basically you have a guarantee instead of sitting around wondering if you're getting a paycheck or if you should be out looking for something else.
Well right now she's sitting at home doing nothing, oh wait she is off promoting a diet program that most likely won't work.
She's off being paid very handsomely to be the center of a campaign that featured her, slim, in the middle of Time Square.
And tell me, has your fave managed to accomplish the level of popularity to get publicity outside of SID or SOD?

thanks, who wouldn't want a contract i mean she's done all the small arcs when they asked her so why not give her something in return She did get something in return for all those short arcs.
Money and work. Why do people act like Genie Francis came back on a volunteer basis? For each of her short stints she made more money than many Americans make in a year!

For some who can afford to, money is secondary. Maybe she cares about Laura's story, how about that.
IMO neither Genie nor Jack actually needs GH. If they return, they're doing it for reasons other than money.

Oh please they have brought plenty of new cast members on with contracts after Finola. If they really wanted Genie they would have brought her back with or without Finola having a contract.
The reason Genie is getting linked with Finola is because ABC told FV years ago, after he signed FH long term, the contract for older vets was finished. He was right. So it's not that GH doesn't give out contracts. It might be that, besides Tony and Jane, there's only one major, long term GH contract available for classic vet. If Finola leaves they might give that to somebody like Jack, Tristan or Genie, if they're available.
What's the definition of older vet? Michelle Stafford is 50 yrs old. So did ABC mean limit older vets who made their name on GH then? Michelle Stafford is a major player form another soap who looks, and plays, younger than her age. She isn't ever marketed as an older vet talent the way Monty era vets are, even though she's similar age. That's no different than Sonny being the same age as Laura and Felicia, but he's considered younger.
ABC told FV that they didn't want older, expensive GH vets on contracts. RC wanted to flood the show with them, and they let them get hired, but not as players with guarantees. They stuck to that. Finola, Jane and Tony are the only group who have long term contracts. We're lucky to have them at all. The only reason we do is because Ron likes GH history and the eras he watched growing up. Jill didn't give a damn and ABC let her and Guza decimate them and only allowed but Jane and Tony back for little bits here and there.

or it might be that the contract won't be given to anyone and just go back to funding the show or more newbies. there is no stipulation that it has to be for a vet What's up with the dense thinking today?
NOBODY said Genie was definitely getting the contract. Or Jack. Or Tristan. Or the corpse of Elizabeth Taylor for that matter. We're SPECULATING. That's what this board is here for.
