Wow the Genie vultures are all out full force gunning for Finola's contract today.
Aren't you too damn old for this trolling behavior? It's rather embarrassing and transparent.

The reason Genie is getting linked with Finola is because ABC told FV years ago, after he signed FH long term, the contract for older vets was finished. He was right.

So it's not that GH doesn't give out contracts. It might be that, besides Tony and Jane, there's only one major, long term GH contract available for classic vet. If Finola leaves they might give that to somebody like Jack, Tristan or Genie, if they're available.

What's the definition of older vet? Michelle Stafford is 50 yrs old. So did ABC mean limit older vets who made their name on GH then?
Michelle Stafford is a major player form another soap who looks, and plays, younger than her age. She isn't ever marketed as an older vet talent the way Monty era vets are, even though she's similar age. That's no different than Sonny being the same age as Laura and Felicia, but he's considered younger.

ABC told FV that they didn't want older, expensive GH vets on contracts. RC wanted to flood the show with them, and they let them get hired, but not as players with guarantees. They stuck to that. Finola, Jane and Tony are the only group who have long term contracts. We're lucky to have them at all. The only reason we do is because Ron likes GH history and the eras he watched growing up. Jill didn't give a damn and ABC let her and Guza decimate them and only allowed but Jane and Tony back for little bits here and there.

So it's really a limit on older vets who are expensive and LOOK old? Got it. Lucky for Michelle Stafford she's ONLY expensive then. I doubt she's cheaper than the old looking GH vets.

The order to FV about older vet contracts, did that come through the grapevine and people just adding their take on it? Or is that a confirmed thing? Hadn't heard it before.

Take it up with ABC. They're the ones who said it, not me. Not sure why you're throwing me shade.

BTW Michelle Stafford is the only 50 and older actor from any show that's gotten a long contract since Finola. So it's not like they've been handing out contracts to ANY older actors no matter where they come from.

That came directly from Michael Logan on the DC podcast back in 2012. Said Finola was the last. Lots of people here dismissed it and said it was wrong. Except nope, he was right. Unfortunately.

Well, we know that all SOAPS has a mandatory budget cut..Sadly, I prefer Ian leave over Finola #sorrynotsorry but I don't see how Ian being cut saved any money since he's recurring but I don't that business work.
