Colton and Cheryl in the top 10.

Ewww.
yea, but Cheryl was the love interest of the top person on that list..So it's fitting that she'd be in the top ten or 15.
So it's OK of Sonny's new piece of ass gets top 10 status then?

Quoting limited to 4 levels deep
All three of them have been in over a 100 episodes each since they were brought back.
all together or as each character totals ?
As of last moth:

Finola's been back for a little over 3 years. She's done 322 shows.
Ian's been back 2.5 years. He's done 142 shows.
Lynn's been back for a little over 2 years. She's done 108 shows.
Kristina's been back for almost 3. She's done 91 shows.
Kin's been back for about 2. He's done 84 shows.
How many episodes a year? About 250? Leaving FH out since she's on contract, blink and miss on the others unless you're specifically staking out their appearances.

Take a look at how many vets were left on GH, and their episode counts, by the time Gloria was finished changing the show:

FLASHBACK: 1988 Episode Counts

Hello all – for some fun and nostalgia here are the episode counts for 1988, compiled through viewings. This was the year Anna was captured by Grant Putnam and lost her baby with Duke; Sean and Tiffany were married; Duke infiltrated the Jerome mob and was pursued by an obsessed Olivia; Julian faked his death for the first time; Tom and Simone had daytime’s first interracial marriage; Tony and Lucy divorced; Monica had an affair with Ned; and Felicia searched for Frisco’s killer.

This was the year we were introduced to Julian and Olivia Jerome, Colton Shore, Lord Larry and Lady Arielle Ashton, Harrison Davis, and Katherine Delafield; and the year GH lost Jake Meyer, Patrick O’Connor, Grant Putnam, and Filomena Soltini.

Hope you enjoy this trip down memory lane as much as I did!! I hope to have 1989 finished before the end of the year.

General Hospital
Number of Episodes in 1988: 257

9. Kin Shriner (Scott Baldwin) – 132
20. John Beradino (Dr. Steve Hardy) – 88
31.Rachel Ames (Audrey Hardy) – 57
37. Emily McLaughlin (Jessie Brewer) – 37
Kin had just returned in 1988, so he'll doing pretty good.
JB got more in one year than KW has gotten in almost 3 under RC :lmfao:

but that doesn't amount to much for the year except FH and she has a contract
That's a hell of a lot more than they were getting prior to this regime. Those are decent numbers in today's climate IMO.

Who said it was ok? I saying it's understandable why they would be higher on the list because they're dating the lead..Emma Samms and Demi Moor was were also 3rd or 4th on the list in 1982 because they were involved with the leads too.

You know what helps me enjoy GH's classic vets? The fact that I'm a fan of 99% of them. So while only Anna or Luke might be on regularly, there are so many vets, and I love mostly all of them, so yeah it does feel like I'm getting vets all the time.

It's an enormous improvement for me since I'm not a couple or character fan but a GHFF one. There are so many characters I enjoy, new and old and in between.

Absolutely. There is no doubt that RC has used probably all the vets from the 80s, I think the only one missing is Tiffany and thats because of the actresses health.
I guess people are more upset with how he used them in some cases.

But it looks like the old vets in the 80's got more then, that what RC's giving them now... except for guz'a years he just brought them back to destroy

When drawing parallels between what Monty did and what FV is doing, the problem for me is that GM and her writers provided worthy alternatives to the vets she pushed out. Viewers liked her newbies and their stories, so yeah maybe the pushback was less in her case.

If RC were to provide something equally engaging, there'd probably be less complaining about underuse or overuse of so and so.
There was a lot of complaining back then. Ever seen Listservs from back then? :lolz

People were still watching enough to keep the show at #1 through most of the decade.

It's not vets vs. newbies for me. It's quality writing. I'll watch anything if you can get me invested in the characters and tell their stories well. Nowadays with the vets because of their history, I'm already invested so that's half of it right there. But the other half is still missing. And the vets they do invest in (Sonny particularly) is just so played out IMO that it's gonna take extra good writing to get me to care.
