Right...Plus I think it's absolutely, totally OOC for Lucy to be hanging around Duke and not Scott and many here say that around here a lot. So, yea, people do complained if Lucy is doing something OOC. I don't think anybody buy Ducy in the VET THREAD only the new viewers are buying into it. Plus, many have said that Duke is OOC? Scott is acting like a buffoon, so as long as he's acting that way? He remained in character, lol
Honestly I don't even understand the duke and lucy stuff.Maybe because most of it has been offscreen too lol who knows.
Harmony?

What year of Lucy/Scott are you watching?
I think its 89 why? Its during the olivia Jerome and around dukes death its kinda funny because Lucy is like uke is dead and scottys like thts great it can boost my career lol.if he could put victor away for dukes death lol.

In this thread Robert, Holly, Anna and Frisco are the untouchables. I think most of their fans here truly believe they're perfect and have no flaws and think all the writing should slant toward their perfection.

All other characters are up for bashing. You can even have somebody not like sweet characters like Lila or Laura in this thread and you won't get much push back.
Frisco was pigheaded and much too impulsive for his own good. He was a lone wolf and liked to do things on his own with little thought to his own safety, often to Robert's exasperation and Felicia's distress. He was cocky and snippy too. He had his own mind and was always gonna do what he was gonna do. But you know what, I liked all that about him because it balanced all the good stuff. He was a man of integrity, loyal to the core, an excellent cop, a loving brother, a good friend, great with the kids, often funny, openly romantic, and a hundred percent faithful and protective of the only woman he ever loved. All of that was shown onscreen. All of it. Every day. For years.

I'm sure others can make a similar post about Robert, Holly, and Anna. They became fan favorites for a reason, but nobody's pretending they're perfect.

In the Vet thread bashing = not kissing ass.

It happens ALL the time here. Whenever a beloved Vet thread vet is written as having their weaknesses or flaws brought up, it's considered OOC.

But that's only the beloved vets that are worshiped in this thread. Nobody here complains at all when vets like Lucy, Scotty or Tracy have their bad sides brought up, or another character just flat doesn't like them. But characters like Robert, Holly, Anna and Frisco are suppose to have nothing but endless supporters, universal love and ass kissing from all characters onscreen, at all times, or else it means they;re being bashed and written OOC.
Isn't it more OOC for Lucy and Scott to not show off their bad sides? That's what I love about them. I just expect them to act the way they're supposed to. Learned behavior from watching them onscreen day in and out for years.

Yup, offscreen stuff blows. You're just suppose to swallow it though because if it goes on long enough, people just start accepting it after a while. I don't get Duke and Lucy AT ALL.

I considered Frisco a deadbeat hubbie and father even back before that became set in stone.

I was actually cheering Tony on when he was super pissed at Frisco leaving again and totally mindblown about Felicia's casual attitude about Frisco staying away.
Deadbeat hubby? She left him. They were divorced.

I don't have a problem with Frisco committing to the WSB when JW left the show. Frisco went off to serve and protect, not to go travel with his rock band and sow wild oats. The only thing I had a problem with is that they didn't bother to continue him sending letters, postcards, gifts, etc. like he he used to. There should've been explicit mention of child support too. Those are things he would've been done short of him being dead or held captive. Frisco never cared about money or material things, what's he been doing with his WSB paycheck all those years.

You know some characters and relationships just made large enough deposits in their prime years that they'll never be bankrupt for me no matter what the bad writing does to them. Neither of them were cut to be deadbeats, they wanted to be parents for years and many of the scenes while Felicia was expecting Maxie was some of the most precious pregnancy scenes I've ever seen on tv. I will always love these two.

That's my fav Scott and Lucy period. Plus, Lucy had a nice theme song back then, it came on when she was scheming lol it had a real nice rhythm to it.

Frisco was written as a piece of crap father and husband offscreen for the better part of 20 years. That's part of his story just as much as the onscreen stuff before.

So what did you honestly think was going to happen the day he returned? They were going to act like it was the early 90s again and ignore everything else? I'm confused.
Characters also get written as dead for years, but then they return and so long as there's a well written explanation, the viewers don't go on buying them as dead just because they were that way for years off-screen. Off screen is always fixable.
Ha! I love this! What do you mean Julian Jerome is alive!? But he was offscreen being all dead for the better part of 25 years. And now he's ONSCREEN and the writers managed to make a former day player into a leading man who's also a loving father and never mind that he's also a mobster cuz he's got great abs. See? The writers when they care enough can make anything happen and quick, offscreen history be damned. Lucas even be calling him Daddy now. Viewers who weren't around in the 80s love this, but many of the same viewers probably also think Frisco's an ass, Holly's a cheat, Anna's an idiot, and Duke's a Sonny lover.
:lolz off screen story is as flexible as it is fixable. Hell the current regime even makes stuff we saw onscreen flexible, sometimes stuff from last month even.

I think the cardinal sin of any fictional character, especially on a serial daily drama, is to be a bore. Or in some cases to go on and on until what used to be interesting becomes a repetitious bore. But I'll stop short of naming names. :winky
