DS fandom is all abuzz about the new Johnny Depp/Tim Burton movie, currently filming in England. Some people love the idea. Other feel it will be awful or a parody. But everybody seems to be talking and speculating about it.

This was Warner Brother official press release on the movie:

I'm a lifelong (almost) DS fan and I'm not expecting much from this movie. But I'm willing to give it a look. If it reeks, I don't have to ever see it again.

I was happy to read that Jonathan Frid, David Selby, Kathryn Leigh-Scott, and Lara Parker have all filmed brief cameos for the new movie. I think that's pretty cool that Depp/Burton included some of the surviving original actors.

I've loved original DS ever since I was a kid. Thanks to the DVDs, I can rewatch the whole series about once a year. I really don't know what I think about the new movie. I'm not a big Johnny Depp fan and, frankly, I can't see him as Barnabas. But I'm willing to give it a chance.
