My name is Caleel, and as the new Head of Press for the ACLU, I figured that I should tell a little about myself. I was eBorn on day 615 of the new world. For those of you that don't know, that means I'm OLD (in eRepublik terms that is). In reality I was born in 1990, so I'm about 21 years old. The first battle I participated in was part of WWIII. If I remember correctly it was the Defense of my native South Dakota, but I could be wrong. Things were...chaotic back then and there were several battles a day and I was forced to move nearly every other day until I decided to stay put in Florida to save myself money. I just recently moved to Nebraska when I returned from a year long hiatus. I plan on staying here for a while (though I have moving tickets just in case). When I first started eRepublik I was rambunctious. I sought to change the eWorld, perhaps even become the president one day. Currently my goals have lessened and my only goal is to write a newspaper that is as neutral as humanly possible so that all sides can get news that they can rely on. Some may notice that I have the phrase "Semper Veritas" nearly everywhere that I can. It is not only a personal motto, it's my attempt to remind myself to always think before I say something, to prevent the possibility of unintentionally damaging someone's reputation with lies, slander, or libel. I am a man of symbolism. In the upper left corner of my avatar, there are three interlocking triangles colored red, black, and gold. It is a symbol known as the Valknut, or the "Fallen Warrior's Knot." It is there, not only as a symbol of my real life religion (I'm Nordic pagan), but also to honor fallen soldiers around the world, whether those who have left us and died in eRepublik, or those who have died in real life. The colors are a symbol of my German heritage. The cowboy in my avatar, standing weathered and beaten yet still standing strong and proud, is a symbol of myself; my Midwestern US roots and my my will to get through any challenge and keep going despite the pain. Honestly, that is all that I can think to tell you. If anyone wishes to know more, you need only ask. Edited by Caleel, Dec 19 2010, 07:27 AM.

Joseph, you beat me to welcoming Caleel, again. Ah, well ![]() Anyways, Joseph already said this, but I might as well reiterate it: We're very glad to have you aboard as our Head of Press and I'm sure that you'll do wondrous things for our party! Semper veritas! |
