Rules: A Turn RE: A New Beginning What is a turn? The easiest way to answer, is that a turn is a year in game time. Under normal circumstances, a turn will last seven real life days. This may be extended due to in game events however, in order to allow time for actions to be processed in an appropriate fashion. During each turn, you will be allowed to perform many actions within the confines of the game, including military construction, research and development, military operations, and diplomatic actions. Each turn is also representative of certain cycles in game. For example, a budget cycle takes a turn. This means that at the beginning of each turn, your yearly surplus will be added to your nations treasury, allowing you to spend money on more actions. Construction cycles are also governed by turns. Typically speaking, you will be allowed to produce a certain number of military units that will all be completed at the end of the current turn. However, some extremely costly or powerful units may take more than one turn to complete. Since we will be using turns to govern the passing of time in game, some people may forget that we will have a year associated to each turn. We must not forget this, as the year is extremely important for some aspects of the game--especially technology. Since each turn represents a year in game, it is easy to calculate how many years have passed. For example, if the game is starting in 1945, Turn 1 will represent 1945, Turn 2 will represent 1946, Turn 3 will represent 1947 and so on and so forth. |
