Rules: Submitting Actions
RE: A New Beginning

Actions are how you get things done in your nation. Consider these actions as goals that you, as the leader of your government, hand down to the various components of your state to accomplish. Actions shall be written from a strategic view, utilize a very broad scope and providing end goals. These actions can be as detailed as you want, however please realize that micro-management generally leads to more issues than not.

When writing an action, it is essentially that you provide a very clear and concise end goal for the program. This should include expected results--please keep them broad, because as always results will be determined by the staff. The second important aspect of an action should be a general road map, providing the path that you wish the program to take. As mentioned previously, this is the strategic view, featuring a broad over view of the road map, not something that details each and every turn that the program will make. Finally, it is important to detail the budget for the program. A program budget should include a break down of how much money is being spent on each important aspect, as well as any discretionary or overage spending that is allowed.

Below are the categories of actions, along with brief descriptions and helpful information:
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Military Operations/Policy
Military Operations are overt military actions, taken in preparation for war or during an actual war. For this game, you will be focusing on a very macro-level, strategic view of military operations. This means you will not be giving orders for every little battle. You will instead be giving orders for entire theaters of operations and significant turning points, such as the Battle of Stalingrad. Some important things to remember when planning military operations are:
• Be organized: It is important that when you are planning a military action, you organize it well. The exact organization is up to you, however we've always found the traditional US WARNORD or similar order document works best.
• Unit List: When planning an operation, make sure to include not only a list of the organized units you are going to include, but also an itemized list of what is in them towards the end of the order.
• Over Arching Goals: This is a new view on Military Actions for these games. Make sure you list a series of over arching goals that you want your forces to achieve, and a general outline of how they are to proceed.

If you ever have any questions about military operations, feel free to contact the staff.

Intelligence Operations/Policy

Domestic Issues
Domestic Issues covers everything from elections to wide spread economic programs. One thing to remember, is we are taking the strategic view in this game. It is not necessary to get down to a small level of detail when writing these actions. There are two ways a domestic policy action can be processed. The first, is where you submit your action and get raw results from the avatars. There will be no article presented in the global news service if you go down this route, however you are free to utilize the results given in writing a local news article to gain domestic popularity. If you choose to include an article in your action, it will be editted to match the results and then posted in the global news thread for everyone to enjoy.

Diplomatic Issues
Diplomatic Issues are those that the effect international politics. As with the other action categories, we are taking a very macro view to this, so these actions should include more of an outline and over view that very specific details. This action category will cover everything from trade deals to international organizations. Any action that you are under taking with another nation, that is not military in nature, will go here. The results of most of these actions will be posted in the global news thread for all to see unlike Domestic Actions, however we still encourage you to at least write a partial article to assist with keeping processing times down.

Research and Development
In this game, Research and Development are being handled a bit differently. While we will not out right refuse to allow people to generate player made units, we will be putting very strict restrictions on them. First and foremost, these units MUST be comparable in specifications to a real world military unit. This means that each player made unit must have a stat sheet that matches those of real world military units. Secondly, an image or detailed description must be provided--in addition, this must be suitable to the time period of the game. Finally, the player must be prepared to have this unit denied.

With that in mind, that does not mean that you will not be able to advance technology. Due to a correlation between game time and real life, you will be allowed to develop real world military units (both prototypes and production units) at approximately the same time as they were in our world. These units will become available for research on a first come first serve basis based on the approximate date they began research and development. If a date can not be determined, we shall use the best available data--for example, for most planes the beginning of R&D is not known, however their first flight is. The first flight date would then be adequate substitute.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Finally, once you have written your actions, you have to submit them. In order to do this, you will need to do two things. The first is to post the action in your nation forum, in the appropriate thread for that action type. After you have done this, you may post a link to that specific post in your "Actions to be Processed" thread in the Actions Forum under the Communications heading. From there a Staff Member will review your action, and respond with appropriate results. Remember to pay attention to action limits! As all staff are volunteers, we can not expect them to become over worked. Respect the limits given, and we'll all have an enjoyable and smooth game experience.
