Economics and Income RE: A New Beginning The economic and income system being utilized for this game is an attempt to cover the most important aspects of a government, without getting so complex as to require coding to perform the budget. An explanation of the steps you need to take in order to complete a budget follows. • Step 1: Determine the amount of people that actively participate in your government. To do this, multiply your total population by the percentile version of the Labor Participation percentage (40% = 0.4, etc). This number will then become the base of the following steps. • Step 2: Remove the people that are impoverished from the number determined in Step 1. To do this, multiply your total population by the percentile version of the Poverty percentage. This will determine the amount of people that are too impoverished to tax within your country. Subtract this number from the number determined in Step 1. • Step 3: Multiply your GDP Per Capita by the number determined at the end of Step 2. This will give you the taxable GDP of your nation. • Step 4: Multiply your taxable GDP by the percentile version of the DIFFERENCE between your Revenue Rate and Infrastructure Rate (Ex: RR = 15%, IR = 10%. Difference = 5% or 0.05). This is your base surplus for that budget period. • Step 5: Deduct the Corruption Percentage from the base Surplus. The final number is your final surplus for that budget period. An example of a Treasury Thread with a proper Budget Form is available here. |
