What is M'RP?

What is M'RP? M'RP is a online roleplay where players of Habbo Hotel assume the roles of heroic fantasy characters and explore a world full of mystery and magic. If you're still looking for a better understanding this guide and the 'getting started' guide might be a good place to start.

…a Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game

What is Habbo Hotel?

Habbo or Habbo Hotel is a social networking site aimed at teenagers. The website is owned and operated by Sulake Corporation. M'RP is only playable through Habbo Hotel and luckily requires few system requirements.

ROLE-PLAYING

In M'RP each player is unique and has a specific set of abilities which define your character's existence. For example, mages are powerful spellcasters and unleash heartrending magic on their enemies but are vulnerable to attacks such as the piercing blow of a warrior's weapon. These traits define a player, whilst a warrior can soak up the damage a mage has to prevent confrontation in order to become effective. Quite simply each player's skills are always unique and contribute differently to M'RP.

Role-play also means that you play the role of the character living in the fantasy world. Some characters adopt unique aspects and entire background histories along with mannerisms when they're "in character" but some characters quite simply develop from start to finish during their time role-playing.

…set in the high-fantasy universe of olden 2007 M'RP

Before the general role-plays of Habbo Hotel situated in high-fantasy worlds their was the organized and structured M'RP that followed the world of Masrvia, and the many factions it housed as they struggled for dominance and the world's mysterious resources.

Marsvia is a grim world honoring weapon-mastery and sorcerous magic. It's lands are distant and vast, and home to a variety of different sentients. The deeps of Marsvia's world is home to a number of races and cultures such as the scourge of the mighty Stranglethorn Vale or the great monarch of Icecrest located within Icecrest's grim glaciers. Some of the peoples of Marsvia share friendship or hate dating back to the ancient-ages and states of warfare are not uncommon. Among all these different kingdoms, cultures, and territories is a opportunity to become a glorified hero of your choosen allegiance, the question is what establishments of Masrvia will you align yourself to?

THE COMMUNITIES AND RACES OF M'RP

In M'RP, there are many different communities in which you can align yourself to. Communities are generally grouped into continents and their members, players can venture out of their choosen continent to participate in role-play with other players. Aligning yourself can be difficult but many communities offer a expansion to skills. For example, Southbarrow located in Arcia is a staging ground for Necromancy and it's dark art and has been for a while. Their are countless alignments to choose from whether you align yourself to the forsaken scourge homeland of Stranglethorn, or the deeps of Courtbourne's greatest crusade, the great metropolises and third kingdom of humanity. You can even become a nimble Wyrven ordinated to Greylake's ruinations, or a druid of Wyvernshore. Maybe you want to become the greatest of warriors and take course to Silverlake's manovolent keep. Perhaps you want to help out the Wyverns of Northshore as a undead creature and align yourself to the grievous kin of dragonic creatures and their capital city of Dragonbourne. Maybe the great glory of Icecrest Glacier's monumental monarch is more of your thing. The character you play can be anything in M'RP and plan out his future to even betray his community. What makes it more worthwhile to is the variety of races you can choose to role-play as. For instance, you can role-play as a undead creature the cursed scourge or the ingenius nomadic gnomes and dwarves of Arcia's great regions. You can also role-play your character as a splinterproof human, and a Wyvern of Northshore's greatest history the Dragonbourne. For another part you may be interested in role-playing a Benighted Elve and the high-arcane grounded powers they possesses. The possibilities are endless but remember you only gain two character slots in M'RP, so use them wisely.

DEFINING YOUR CHARACTER

When you create your character you must have two major decisions which affect your role-play profoundly. These choices will also define how you will role-play your character in the high-fantasy world of M'RP. The choices you must make are choosing a race and class to role-play as, contributing to your faction. Remember you can only have two characters in M'RP and these choices will profoundly affect how you role-play and your role in the high-fantasy world of M'RP.

A character's race determines the overall look of your character whilst you role-play and the apperance of your habbo-avatar in-game. Many different races have different advantages, but your character's race is generally a social choice.

A character's skills determine what your character can and cannot do. Different skills offer you different gameplay choices and vastly different role-play experiences, so the best way to find out what skills are best for you is to create multiple characters with different skills in M'RP.
