![]() In 1875, Michel Poynter took over the famous school St. Laurents école pour le doué. It was a school that with its' sky-high expectations, and excellent teachers had become known for graduating not only excellent academics, but young people who would become world leading in circles of art, music, dancing and sports. The state of the art equipment, glorious facilities and world class professors made the school rather pricey though, and Poynter sadly watched great talents lost because they lacked the money to develop their skills. And so, when he died, he used his vast fortune to set up a scholarship fund - insisting that from then on talent would come before money at his school. The following headmaster did not share this opinion though, and when the first scholarship-students arrived, little to no effort was made to mend the bridge between the affluent students already there and the new ones. They took the place of others who belonged there more, was the general opinion. Separate dorms, favouritism, and other unjust treatment on the adults' part made the school what it is today. An excellent school with beautiful grounds and the brightest students, solidly divided into two camps. The teachers today aren't as a rule unjust, but the rift was made long ago and has yet to mend. C'est la mode is an intermediate RPG site taking place at St. Laurent's school for the talented, on the outskirts of Paris. We're currently accepting years 9-13, both scholarship and non-scholarship students, and all profiles. The school offers a variety of profiles. The classical areas of dance, music and art; including ballet, composing, playing instruments etc. as well as riding, horse polo, tennis and football. |
