UNDER THE BRIDGE An Intermediate/Advanced HP RPG The Wizarding World had been rattled by Lord Voldemort for years. Everyone was praying for an end to the fighting, to the worrying. Mothers hoped for a world where their children could safely go outside and play. Fathers hoped for a safe place to raise their families. The Wizarding World was desperate for the end. The end had to be coming. Someone had to be able to stop him. It had to get better. Following the Battle of Hogwarts in late May of 1998, it did get better. Harry Potter defeated Lord Voldemort. The Wizarding World could finally be a peaceful place. And for a few short months, it was. Then, in September 1998, the killings started. At first, no one in the Wizarding World took notice. They were focused on rebuilding. But when a muggle family from Godric’s Hollow was found murdered in their homes with no signs of injury or struggle, those who lived in the neighborhood began to wonder. There had been nothing to point to an ordinary muggle killing. In fact, it had the look of a wizarding murder. What was going on? Were some of You-Know-Who’s supporters rising again? Were they trying to finish their master’s work? There was nothing that pointed to it. By December, the killings seemed to have stopped. The murders were pushed to the bottom of the Ministry’s priorities. On February 21st, 1999, Daphne Greengrass showed up at the home of Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger with startling news. Her older brother had taken over a new group who called themselves the Pureblood Purity Party, or Purists for short. Ron quickly called together the rest of his family, as well as Harry and Hermione. Daphne explained her brother’s goals: infiltrate the Ministry, limit the amount of impure bloodlines, and stamp out muggleborns for good. The members of the Order of the Phoenix were notified, but as far as they were concerned, the danger was nothing. These were a bunch of kids rebelling. This wasn’t something that needed to be dealt with. Frustrated, Bill started the New Order of the Phoenix. By May of 1999, over half of the Ministry was filled with members of the Pureblood Purity Party. The Purists advanced into important positions and began passing laws that would help accomplish their goals. The New Order was losing the battle. With the help of Daphne Greengrass, they were able to identify Purists in the Ministry, but they couldn’t actively fight against them. All they could do was attempt to prevent the killings of more muggles, and there were several battles between the Purists and the New Order, most of which were completely under the radar and unknown to much of the Wizarding society. It’s now 2000. The New Order is still losing the battle, and the Purists are closer than ever to their goals. Can another war be avoided? Or is the idea of peace water UNDER THE BRIDGE?
