pretty good considering this inflated transfer market. if shit like cavani and hulk can command transfer fees likes 60m euro, ozil is a steal at 50m. look at bale, 100m and apparently at his rm presentation when he was showing of his skills he made errors, could hardly control the ball during keepy-uppys and was pretty average. during the presentation the madrid fans were chanting ozils name while he underwent his arsenal negotiations |

i agree, özil > bale but still not worth 50 million euro. Real spent 18 million to get him from bremen and that time 18 million were way to much (realistic would have been 6-8 million) so even say they spend more money because of his potential he would never grew above 25 million. also thats not his escape clausel but the tranfer fee arsenal agreed to pay.... just remember barca payed 57 mill. euro for neymar, who imo is 10 times more skilled than özil is (and i say that as german, whos opinion is obviously towards our nationalplayers). also in my eyes most clubs are retarded to pay any of those way to high fees. Zidane was worth the money real payed but none of the following guys are. not cr7 either bale (who is only fast and can shoot; congrats for that smart waste of money real). schalke got k.p. boateng for 12 million and i think hes way more worth. that was a good transfer fee, most others spend this year, specially in england were way to high and not representing anything. athletico got villa for 6!! |

its an inflated market, clubs like man city, psg, chelsea, barcelona, real madrid, monaco, anzhi and a lot of others (to a smaller extent) are happy to pay the release clauses of players. the release clauses are designed to deter clubs from poaching players and as such are usually grossly over valuing players on the chance that they become a modern day legend or become game changing players, but because of these clubs and their owners infinitely deep pockets they're able to activate virtually any release clause a club/player has. this inflates the price of the entire transfer market, and all it does is create two horse races for a majority of the leagues and it ruins things for the fans (without us, the game isn't worth anything). if players like thiago silva, hulk, joao moutinho, torres, cavani can get clubs to pay 30-60 M euro, theres nothing stopping other average players from also have exorbitant fees. like soldado, probably one of the most average players ( i say it as a valencia supporter) can cost 30ME, think of what david silva would be worth now (he transfered to man city for 26ME i think). also i think ozil is alot better than neymar o-o ive only seen him play on an international level and i never followed brazilian football, but he produces good looking goals which is nice, but he's nothing more than that. he's technically good, but i don't think he can influence games in the way that players like ozil, david villa (when he was younger), ronaldinho (when he was younger) can. and ultimately, the price of a player should reflect their influence on the match. I say this in the sense that i've never seen ozil, ronaldinho, villa, fat ronaldo etc have a bad game, where as neymar is very hit or miss, he's cost brazil games just as much as he's won games for them, maybe it changes as he matures, but at this stage he's also over priced imo, not even his potential for growth is worth as much as his fee.
