Almighty Master of You All
It was meant to have been a nice stroll through the forest, seeing what was around, getting some more fighting practice for Rapier, getting the two of them working as a more cohesive unit and learning more about each other... That all went downhill from the moment they got into the forest.

The rain on its own hadn't made them complain about the location they had ended up in, but when mixed in with the wind speeds that shook through the canopy above, ripping branches from the trees causing the pokémon hiding away up there to flee in panic. The rain was heavy enough to be cutting through the canopy as well, there being barely anywhere that wasn't sodden even at ground level after barely half an hour of the storm setting in.

Alisha very quickly realised that this was a bad idea. These woods were a place that almost everyone ended up lost in, even when the weather was pleasant. All hope of training and exploring were long gone, replaced with thoughts of hope that they were even going to get out of this place in one piece.

"Pawn!" Rapier cried out, pointing into the distance where she couldn't really see and starting to head over there. Alisha quickly followed, trusting that her pokémon was thinking on similar lines to her that they needed to get out of this weather.

A large mansion showed through the woods, it looking barely held together, as though the ivy crawling up its walls was now integral to the structure, but it had a roof that seemed to be holding out well enough that bits weren't flying off and there seemed to be some kind of light coming from a couple of the windows, so maybe she wouldn't be alone in this. It was better than being stuck out here anyway.

The pair of them quickly moved in, barely being able to open the door due to its huge size and the wind pressing against them, but they slipped in after a while, looking a pair of the most bedraggled people in the world. Well, Alisha did. There wasn't too much in Rapiers steel body that could be pushed out of place to make him look unkempt, but he could feel that the shards of twigs and branches that the wind picked up had dulled his blades from perfect which was enough to make him feel off.

"Hello..?" Alisha asked, looking around the place as best she could. It was clear that this mansion wasn't used any more the way everything had gathered dust and been abandoned. It had been long enough abandoned that the whole place seemed to have already been stripped of everything that hadn't been nailed down or was too big or heavy for the effort required to get it out of here.

"Must be nobody home..." she mused, slowly stepping in, trying to find somewhere to sit down that didn't look like it would collapse under her weight.

"Nyar.." Rapier mused, seeming less certain than Alisha of the things around him. There was something wrong about this place, for sure. It was completely abandoned, yet there were lights on in some of the rooms? there was a vibe to it as well, not something he could really recognise but it still unsettled him.

Alisha started to move through into one of the side rooms, drawn by the lit chandelier that made it feel that bit safer. Scary places like this were always safer in the light, right? Even if that light was more of a purple than anything natural. That was just part of the charm right? It was very pretty over there...

Rapier seemed to notice something wrong with Alisha pretty quickly. He noticed the purple flames of the light fitting and quickly moved, trying to push Alisha in a different direction. A mixture of her being pushed and the blades of his arms snapped her out of her little daze enough to see the Chandelure leaving its fitting area, creeping towards her with the look of someone hungry for the spirit within her.

Fear struck deep within her, quickly starting to run in the opposite direction before she started to realise that this place was haunted by more than just that one ghost type. Ghastlies and Misdreavus started closing in on her, causing her to quickly scan the area around her for anything she could use to defend herself with. Yes she had Rapier with her, but this was more than he could handle for sure and she didn't fancy turning into one of those ghosts any time soon.

A glint caught her eye, a trophy on the wall shining with the light reflected from a Lampent which she diverted towards, taking the sword from the wall, throwing the sheath to the floor and shakily aiming the point towards the ghosts. She wasn't sure if it was something that would work, but maybe they'd be scared off? Maybe this was some special sword that had ghostly powers or something?

Well, she was right about one thing. A tassel from the swords handle started to move, quickly ensnaring her arm, feeling the hints of the warm liquid drawn out from having been pushed around by the bladed pokémon next to her and drawing out more. Alisha could feel the strength leaving her pretty quickly.

The other ghosts seemed rather put off by this. It was as though there was an unwritten law that each person who entered the building was only allowed to be taken by a single ghost type, that the fight was for the first one to succeed in getting them in their grasp, if you failed from there it was your own fault.

Rapier noticed the other ghosts starting to lose interest and frowned. Something definitely wasn't right. he glanced back to Alisha to check what her ideas were, only to see her having trouble even standing up, leaning on a sword but seeming to be losing strength with each moment.

The way that tassel wrapped around her arm was tight, the gemstone on the hilt with a slit in it that maybe if you looked at it right might have been an eye..?

A Faint Attack quickly revealed the Honedge for what it really were, it unwrapping from her arm and glaring at the other steel type for disturbing the punishment of this girl for grabbing it for nothing.

"You're leaving her alone now." Rapier hissed, doing what he could to sharpen his forearm blades and look as threatening as he could to defend his trainer.

"A human? You're letting her get away with that are you? Lowering yourself to the level of a pet." Honedge mocked, waving its cloth around in a sort of 'la dee da' way.

"Pet? We are a pack. A small pack, yes, but a pack none the less. I hunt for her, she shows me how to be strong, to hunt bigger and better enemies down until nothing can stop us."

"Well I saw nothing of that..."
Honedge purred, the eye shifting to a more smug look as it saw Rapiers confusion. "You think I don't savour the taste of my meals? To see what it is I am destroying? I look and I find everything inside them so I know. She's just as corrupted as every other human, and you'll see it soon."

"You see everything..?"
Rapier paused, frowning, thinking. "Did you see her past? Before she met me?"

"I barely saw you at all. Shows how much she mus-"

"Tell me."
Rapier said quickly, cutting off the Sword Pokémon before it got too cocky once more.

"Now why would I do that?"

"The cuts all over her? I didn't make those, not all of them anyway. She wont tell me what happened. I don't understand humans. Packs should share everything so everyone gets brought closer together but she wont say. I'd tell her everything if she could understand me, I've tried to tell her stuff already but she just smiles and nods, there's no understanding. I can tell. I'm not stupid, just ignorant. I want to change that, so come on. Pokémon to pokémon, just tell me."
Rapier frowned, moving to sit next to her, looking like he wished he could do something that would help wake her up. "It's not like you've not gotten anything out of this. Already look like you've drained all the strength out of her once, that can't be nothing or you wouldn't have done it..."

"Fine."
Honedge groaned, knowing that the other pokémon was right about the drink thing and he probably wouldn't shut up if she didn't. She floated over to where Alisha has discarded her sheath and grabbed it with the cloth, wanting to make sure she knew where it was and to be able to hide inside if something went wrong. She shut her eye, taking her mind back enough to work out what belonged to the girl and actually focus on it rather than the usual glossing over things to double check that a person wasn't a pokésaint in disguise.

"She..." Honedge paused, her look fading and generally the pokémon seeming to turn softer. All those things she'd seen, those times where she'd been harming all those pokémon, being that much of a bitch to everyone, the backstabs, the cruelty.. She'd thought that was her normally, that the pokémon this girl was with now was just to add to it, to put everyone else in pain, but looking closer..? She'd known humans were bad to pokémon with their abuse, but it even carried across to other humans sometimes too? And she was one of those victims..? how was she meant to tell him that?

"Well?"

"It.. it's not good. I can see why she didn't want to tell you. I wouldn't be surprised if she didn't want to tell herself either."

"What do you mean?"

"She was hurt by other humans. Hurt so bad that she joined in with what they were doing."

"
What??"

"Humans don't make sense, we both know that."

"'They hurt me so I'll hurt other people?' How could that ever make sense??"

"Humans."

"But-"

"Humans. Anyway. She left them. She snuck away from them."

"And that's it..?"
Rapier frowned, trying to work things out, put things together.

"As far as I can tell. I don't look for feelings or anything, so can't say anything about that. Can only tell you want I know..." she mused, looking at the girl once more, but this time with a softer eye. The scars on her body that really weren't just mistakes with the Pawniard she travelled with, or him lashing out at her for doing stupid things or...

She slowly moved, placing the sheath back over her blade so she wouldn't end up making any more cuts anywhere before placing the cloth over her head Rapier quickly moved in, trying to stop what was going on, let her rest her energy back in peace before he heard her starting to groan, shifting about slightly before her eyes opened. Her memories were foggy, something about ghosts and lights and a sword. Had the ghosts done something to her? She felt so weak..

Rapier quickly moved over, placing the flat of his blade on her skin, making sure she knew he was there and that it was as unlikely as possible that the fleshy pale skin would end up cut again because of him.

"Ray.." she murmured, smiling to see that he was there, trying to sit up and get her baring only to be stopped by what looked to be just a piece of blue cloth. Tracing it back she saw the sword of the Honedge and frowned, flashes of memory seeming to seep back as she saw the pokémon, her trying to back off away from the sword but Rapier started to move to help calm her down once more.

"What..." she groaned, trying to work things out in her head. "What's going on?"

"Pawniard." Rapier soothed, trying to help keep Alisha laying down so she could rest, but she wasn't having any of it, forcing herself into a sitting position at least so she could see what was going on.

"Hon? Edge honedge..." the Sword Pokémon mused, Alisha groaning and putting a hand to her head, still failing to work out what was going on.

"Iard." Rapier nodded, moving to try and get Alisha now onto her feet since she seemed well enough to be able to move. Everything was confusing for her, but she was too out of it to really pay much heed to what was going on. Things were too confusing and she was too weak to question it. Using Honedge as a sort of walking stick (much to the pokémons annoyance, but she was coping with it), the trio moved upstairs, finding one of the bedrooms that didn't have a Chandelure perch or anything similar so Alisha could lay somewhere more comfortable in peace. Between them, the two pokémon decided to keep guard to watch over her while she rested so no other ghosts would decide she was a target for easy pickings.

It was the next day before Alisha recovered enough to get her head around what was going on. A sharp hug from Rapier definitely told her she was awake and still feeling things. Honedge bonked him on the head for the hug and the clear pain it had inflicted, causing him to back off, looking meek for his efforts.

"You must be... The sword I grabbed off the wall. Sorry about that." she mused, glancing away. "Didn't realise you were a pokémon."

"Honedge." she replied, seeming to do the best she could to shrug.

"Well Honedge, was nice meeting you. We probably should be off though." she smiled, moving to try and get off the bed before noticing Rapier seeming to be disagreeing with her.

"Pawni!" he called out jumping up at them to put Honedges cloth into Alishas hand. Each of the girls looked confused for a moment before they realised what was going on.

"You want Honedge as part of our pack, Rapier?" she asked, smiling as she saw the excitement on his face. Honedge just looked stumped. Clearly she hadn't been told about Rapiers plan before now and she hadn't been thinking about it in passing either.

"What do you think?" Alisha asked, looking at the blade with the continued smile.

What did she think? She had almost killed this girl before she'd found out what kind of person she'd really been, and she couldn't even tell if she knew that or not. At the same time she owed the girl for what she'd almost done and didn't know if she'd really be wanted... But then she looked at Rapier, the one who knew exactly what had happened because he'd seen it all, and he still didn't mind?

"Edge." she nodded, hearing the cheering from Rapier behind her. That little guy was finally not the only pokémon in his pack, had someone to discuss how weird humans were to, could work out where he was going wrong with the customs and such. Alisha was grinning too which made her feel quite a bit more at ease with her decision.

"Now, what do we call you?"

"Honedge?"

"Yeah, but that's not really a very individual name is it? Everyone's gonna be called Honedge, so you gotta be different, be your own perso- I er, mean, sword? I dunno. Anyway." she paused to think for a moment. "How about Mirrodin?"

Honedge floated about for a moment, seeming to be thinking the name over, working out if it had any connotations that she could work out that would be either good or bad, but seemed to end up with nothing. She nodded once more, brightening up as she realised that not only did this mean that she now had some people to hang around with that weren't just in it for the food, but she could leave this mansion and see the rest of the world... This might even end up being fun.
