“How many are in your party, ma’am?” “Seven.” “Ah, I see, a full crowd. Do you have any Pokemon that aren’t able to be seated within the restaurant?” “I have a Rapidash and Ursaring - I think we would be better off outside.” “I agree. Well, right this way then, ma’am. Here’s your table. I’ll be right back to take your order. Water?” “Yes, please. Six containers and one glass.” The man raised a brow, but wrote down the request nonetheless and disappeared, leaving the trainer alone at the table. The table itself, which was located in an outside area of the restaurant, was broad and tall, the chairs being tall and adjustable stools for humans and shorter Pokemon. Hannah glanced at the room allowed for all of her Pokemon - it was more than enough for Honey and Bonnie to situate themselves comfortably. Taking each of the Pokeballs off of her belt and balancing them between her fingers, she smiled broadly. “Alright, everyone, come on out!” Several Pokeballs were sent hurling into the air, each of which opened and emitted that trademark red beacon of light as each of the Pokemon inside materialized out. The now emptied Pokeballs bounced off the ground and dilated to a smaller size, each easily caught in the palm of Hannah’s hand and returned to her belt. Each of the team members shook themselves and looked around, an air of confusion about them. Honey, however, immediately caught the scent of food. Before the blonde bear could enter the restaurant and turn it into a buffet, Hannah grabbed a handful of fur in her hands, pulling her back. “Honey, you have to wait. I’ll get you some food in a minute. Alright, everyone, listen up. Since you’ve all been working so hard lately and since we’re now Elite Four status, I decided to give you a little reward. How does that sound?” Immediately, each of the Pokemon either bleated, whinied, or cried out in approval. After positioning Honey at the table (and between her and the door to make sure she didn’t sneak off), Hannah started the process of positioning her team all about the table. With some difficulty, the small girl hoisted up Jolie the best she could, placing the Shikijika in one of the high stools at the table, followed by Autumn, Rose, and Cher. Obviously, Bonnie was content with standing by the table’s edge. After a few minutes of reading the menu, the waiter and two others arrived with Hannah’s glass of water, the other heaving the six containers and placing them around the table in front of the Pokemon. As the Pokemon thrusted their heads into the containers of water to drink, the corners of Hannah’s mouth twitched into a frown as she looked over the menu, contemplating the best food for each Pokemon. Honey was eat the most out of any of them, there was no doubt about that - so, would a Farfetch’d in leak sauce suit her? Just the idea of eating a Farfetch’d seemed to make her stomach turn in circles. Her grandmother used to have a Farfetch’d for crying out loud! But, she doubted Honey would care. “Alright, we’ll all be taking the Oran Berries for the starter.” She spoke finally, handing the menu over. “The Ursaring will be having Farfetch’d in leak sauce.” She shivered while saying it, but Honey seemed delighted. “For the Shikjika, a Tropius Fruit Salad.” The little deer Pokemon bleated in joy. “For the Rapidash, a Haban and Chilan smoothie.” Bonnie nickered loudly, stomping her hoof on the floor in approval. “For the Dratini, a small Squirtle’s Sundae.” Rose squealed, slithering across the table and onto Hannah’s shoulders. “For the Leafeon, the Bellossom and Ivysaur salad.” Autumn made a small chirping noise in approval. “And last but not least, a Micle smoothie for the Feebas.” Of course, Cher just sat there, motionless. As Hannah gave the orders, she realized with a small sinking feeling that the total was going to add up, especially with the added cost of the water and such. If she added correctly, then it was going to add up to exactly how much money she had. God, if she hadn’t of sold that Moonstone, she wouldn’t have been able to afford any of this. Forcing a small smile, she handed the menu over to the waiter, who vanished inside the restaurant. Minutes later, he brought out their starters, setting them down in front of each Pokemon accordingly. The evening stretched on as the waiter brought each Pokemon their desired meal or desert, each one scarfing them down without so much as a second thought. Both Autumn and Jolie had their faces buried within their salads. Honey had demolished the Farfetch’d in less than a few minutes, even licking the plate. Rose happily lapped at the sundae while Bonnie took the entire glass in her mouth, downing the fiery hot contents happily. Cher, on the other hand, after being fed the Oran berries, was having a bit of trouble with her smoothie. Hannah couldn’t help but emit a dainty giggle, reaching across the table and taking the Feebas in her arms, gingerly feeding her the smoothie. For some odd reason, the mood surrounding the table was pure ecstasy, with each Pokemon seeming to be overjoyed. Even Cher, with her normally somber face seemed to be smiling as she ate her smoothie. An hour or so passed and the team had finished their respective meals, licking longingly at the plates or glasses they had been given. Smiling on the corner of her mouth, Hannah started to dig around in her pouch as the waiter arrived with the bill. But, before she could hand the man the money, a bright light blinded the entire eating area, emanating from Cher. Hannah panicked and sat the fish down onto the ground, watching as the bright light extended into a serpentine shape, almost engulfing the entire eating area. As the tail of the elongated and glowing serpentine shape extended outward still, people seated at other tables ducked their heads, trying to make room for the giant Pokemon. “Miii,” A piercing wail caused the glasses in the eating area to vibrate and shake violently. The light faded from Cher’s body, revealing a creature that seemed to sparkle in the miniscule light the eating area provided. In fact, the creature was almost breathtaking, immediately silencing the previously furious people in the eating area. The animosity that had been present in the area before suddenly vanished, leaving the air feeling light, a calming scent flowing throughout the restaurant. The Milotic seemed to silence and calm the entire establishment. Hannah stared, mouth hung opened as Cher slithered forward, nearly knocking over a table in the process and placed her slender head next to Hannah’s, as if snuggling or thanking her. The waiter stared, mouth open, but finally shook his head, attempting to regain his composure. “Uh, yes... that will be 5300 AD, ma’am.” Releasing her arms from around the Milotic, Hannah quickly handed over the money and bill. “It was worth it.” |
