Robin's first fight. (Yuki/Kuzumi); Robin is strolling along in the park, when Kuzumi shows up for a battle! =D

Robin decided to go to the park with her newest companion, Wizard. Maybe there would be someone there to talk to. Or maybe even battle. Maybe. She went over to a bench and sat down looking around at the other happy people walking around. Wizard was perched on her shoulder, head tilted to the side.

"Hoo!" Wizard suddenly coed, alarmingly. And looked to the far right, where a guy and his Eevee were walking through the park gates. Robin got up and walked over. This guy seemed lonely. And nice enough.

She walked up to the young man and tapped him on the shoulder. "Hey there."

Kuzumi stretched as he and Aeneas finally arrived to the park. It was such a peaceful place! The grass was the greenest than either had ever seen, the pond, though seen at a distance, looked to be crystal clear- this place was like a paradise. Unfortunately neither were there to bask in the calm.

"What to do," Kuzumi wondered before noticed a girl approach. Grinning as she greeted him, Kuzumi was quick to reply in his usual cheery way "Hi! I'm Kuzumi and this is Aeneas," here he motioned to the Eevee that was sniffing a flower near Kuzumi's feet. "What's your name?"

Aeneas glanced up to see who Kuzumi was talking to and was soon distracted by the bird thing on the girl's shoulder. "Eevee!" Aeneas yipped in excitement as he tried jumping onto the girl's other shoulder to get a closer look at the Hoothoot. Too bad Kuzumi saw this coming and managed to grab the Evolution Pokemon mid jump; instead, Aeneas was placed on his trainer's shoulder. Still he looked with childish wonder at the bird Pokemon.

Robin did her famous half-smile and glanced at her pokemon. "Hey there, I'm Robin. That's a really cute Eevee you have!"

Wizard looked at the Eevee nervously, but leaped onto Robins head excitedly and hooted. "Hoot! Hoot!"

"So, hey, would you like to have a small battle? Both of our pokemon could probably use it." She smiled again. "I just found my little hoothoot and it'll be fun to try out my knowledge to help my pokemon get stronger. I love to read, you see. And I know all you could ever know about pokemon and battling and such, but have never had a pokemon. So what better way than with a new friend?" She said cheerily, rocking back and forth on her feet, looking imploringly at Kuzumi. "What do you say?"

"Hoot?" Said Wizard, turning his big head to the side and blinking.

"Robin huh," Kuzumi's grin widened as he patted Aeneas affectionately. "That's an interesting name." Choosing to brush the compliment about his Eevee, he looked curiously at the Hoothoot. "It's been a while since I've last seen one of these. Hoothoot, the Owl Pokemon, great for telling time. These are nocturnal, and are common sights in forests of both the Johto region and the Sinnoh region."

Aeneas, blinking, turned to his trainer with obvious surprise. "Vee?" He questioned the boy with a soft mew as he pressed his nose against Kuzumi's cheek. It wasn't often the kid would go into detail about a single Pokemon.

"Sorry," Kuzumi laughed. "I have a friend that is crazy about researching Pokemon and I guess I was just regurgitating the information he practically drilled into me during our time together." Then, with a twinkle in his eyes, he glanced over at the Eevee perched on his shoulder. "You up for a battle, Aeneas?"

"Ee," Aeneas replied simply, eyes also twinkling. Eagerly he jumped down from Kuzumi's shoulder and stood between the two trainers. "Eevee Ee." He announced as if saying All right, I'm here; let the battle begin!

(Which friend? Just curious)

Robin smiled. "Well, you don't hear a name like Kuzumi everyday either. But anyways. Let's battle! And I know all about Hoothoots anyway. Not to be rude."

"Hoot!" Screached the little hoothoot, seeming to want to get on with the battle.

"Alrighty, well, let's battle! And money or items involved? I don't really have any items..."

((Yuki of course~ He works for Professor Oak originally as a Pokemon Research Aid, but he likes to travel a bit. In fact, he is used as a trainer sometimes, being equipped with a Pokedex and everything, to go catch Pokemon that trainers Oak sent have failed to capture.))

"Yeah, my parents just randomly named me 'Kuzumi' after they found me. I'm not complaining though because I like the name just as much as I like the name 'Aeneas'!" He laughed while running a hand through his hair. After his laughter died off, he returned to his inviting smile. "How about just a friendly battle then?"

Aeneas' tail wagged impatiently before his entire body froze because he spotted something moving close to him: his tail. Eyes shining with curiosity as it always did whenever he noticed his tail, he soon started chasing it to inspect. It didn't seem like he would be learning that the fluffy tan thing he always chased was actually part of him anytime soon.

Robin chuckled "Alright, let's have a friendly battle then!" She smiled, patting Wizard on the head, who was on her head. A rather odd picture, in fact. "Let's go!" Wizard flitted clumsily down to the ground and faced Aeneas.

(You ready for this, Yuki? =])

"Hold on," Kuzumi put a hand up as he frowned slightly as if trying to recall something. "How many Pokemon are we allowed to use?" Remembering his battle against Liz, he figured he might as well see how many Pokemon he's free to use. If he can at least use two, then he knew just what his strategy was going to be.

"Eevee?" Aeneas cocked his head as he stared at the Hoothoot. More than wanting to battle, he wanted to inspect the bird Pokemon. Then, hearing his trainer's question, he turned his attention to Kuzumi with flattened ears. Aeneas remembered the day he battled that other Eevee and that the battle ended with a draw. That wasn't something he wanted again.

"Well...I only have one pokemon, so...Um..would it really be fair?" She said, shifting. "I..uh..well have never battled before, so I was wanting to start off with only battling one pokemon. Is that alright?" She said, embarrasedly turning red in the face.

Wizard looked sympathetically at his friend. "Hoo?"

Nodding, Kuzumi winked down at Aeneas. "You sure you want to battle, Aeneas?" He was pretty sure about the answer but he still had to make sure. Seeing the look of 'is that a trick question' pass across the little Eevee's features, though, assured him that this is what was wanted. "Alright then, Aeneas, you're the one. I'm counting on you!" He grinned as Aeneas yipped in confirmation.

Aeneas, returning his attention to the task at hand, concentrated on the Hoothoot. He couldn't let too much distract him from this battle. "Eevee Ee." Aeneas announced.

"Right, we're ready then." Kuzumi translated with a laugh. He didn't actually believe his translation was accurate, which it wasn't since Aeneas said something along the lines of 'me first', but it was fun to guess what his Pokemon were thinking.

Robin smiled, not so embarrased. "Alright, Wizard Let's go! You know what to do!" Robin nodded to the Owl pokemon and knelt down beside him, whispering in his small ears. "Ok, now I want you to quickly use peck a few times on his head and back, then dodge the oncoming attacks, got it buddy?"
(We're starting right? If not, I can edit it)

Wizard looked at his companion and nodded, hooting as if he agreed. He jumped in front of the Eevee. He flew up into the air and landed on Aeneas, pecking him on the head, then flew off quickly, giving him one more good peck on the tail.

((sorry for shortness))

Kuzumi was quick to respond. "Bite let's go!" He called to Aeneas immediately after Robin informed her Hoothoot that it knew just what to do. Aeneas would also know what to do, if Kuzumi gave the signal, but that was for times of desperate need, not friendly battles.

"Vee," Aeneas huffed as he was being pecked at. Once the bird was done being a bird, though, Aeneas was light on his paws and moving quickly. Just as soon as the Hoothoot had released him Aeneas leaped up at it and went for a good Bite on the visible foot. If it made contact, it would be a particularly strong attack because of all the training he went through to master it with Kuzumi.

The small hoothoot tried to fly away, but just barely got nipped on the foot, hard. It screached in pain, slashing at the Eevee's muzzle with his other foot, sharp claws ready for piercing the soft skin on its face. "Hooo!" Wizard hooted loudly, trying to free its foot.

"You can do it Wizard! Come on!" Robin said encouragedly.

Wizard looked over to Robin and pecked at the Eevee's face repeatedly, trying to get the pokemon off his leg.

Kuzumi didn't like the look of his Eevee being pecked so much. "Release it, Aeneas, and use Wish!" Wish was a favorite move of his- though mostly when he was training his team. A handy supportive attack for sure.

Releasing the leg, Aeneas snapped his jaws at the beak in hopes to at least scratch it with a tooth or two before he returned to the ground and performed a back flip to return to his original spot from when the battle started. Once there, he closed his eyes as the wind started to pick up. Barely noticeable sparkles appeared around Aeneas before the Eevee opened his eyes to glare at Wizard.

"Great," Kuzumi grinned as he nodded absently to himself. "Now use Curse!" Another good supportive attack that he was thankful to have, though it was also another attack that was mostly used for training. Now that he thought about it, he was all about just training Pokemon.

"Veee..." Aeneas snarled as his body and eyes began to glow purple. Still he was glaring at Wizard even as the color started to fade. "Eev." Came the low growl from a focused Aeneas.

"Good," Kuzumi muttered, eyes bright as ever as he watched with approval. "We're just getting started." He added a bit louder so Robin could hear him. "Your move."

Wizard looked anxiously at his foot as he hovered in the air then his eyes got wide as he looked at the Eevee changing colors and sparkling. "Hoo..." He looked at Robing expectntly.

Robin looked at him and mouthed "Quick attack, then slash his face and tail. GO!"

Wizard zipped over to him and rammed into Aeneas, then aimed a blow at the head with his claws.

Kuzumi didn't even have to give a command this time. Aeneas knew exactly what he himself wanted to do. Accepting the Quick-Attack was easy enough, his defense was heightened after all so he would handle it better, but when the Hoothoot tried Slashing him, that wasn't going to be allowed. Opening his mouth wide, he attempted another Bite on the same foot.

"That's it, Aeneas," Kuzumi pumped his fist into the air excitedly. "We're not giving in that easily. Bite it boy," by this time he was practically on his toes. Was his training paying off? Is Aeneas getting stronger as well as broadening his horizons?

The hoothoot saw the bite coming, obviously the last one had taught him to stay away from that mouth. The small Owl pokemon quickly jerked away, slashing the muzzle. He flew about three feet away, then tried another quick attack from the air.

"Hooo!" He screeched, determined not to get beaten. He rushed to the pokemon, beak forward, and tried once more to slam into the fox pokemon with full-force.

"Curse," Kuzumi purred as his eyes lit up. Robin and her Hoothoot were pretty good for first timers, but there was one thing that probably had yet to cross either mind: new fighters wore out quicker than more experienced Pokemon.

Aeneas pulled back as the Hoothoot did, barely being scratched by Wizard's claws. Eyes and body glowing purple again, Aeneas suddenly blinked when sparkling orbs of light started appearing around him. The pain from previous successful attacks from Wizard were abruptly lessened and Aeneas' mind cleared a bit more. His Wish for good health had arrived.

"Now Quick-Attack!" Kuzumi shouted as he flung his arm out. It was a dramatic action on his part, but he didn't care. He was getting into the battle as he always does and gesticulating was just how he showed his enthusiasm.

"Ee," Aeneas muttered as, light on his paws, he disappeared from where he was standing previously only to reappear nearby and prepare to attack the Hoothoot. His eyes now had hints of purple in them because of the Curses which marked the increase in his abilities.

Wizard barely scratched the Eevee, but Aeneas caught Wizard by surprize with the fast Quick Attack, the purple in his eyes making the Hoothoot pause, just enough so the Eevee managed to hit him full force. Well dang...

Robin began to realize what was happening. "We should have trained more..." She muttered. "He's getting weak..It's only his first battle..what was I thinking!?" she hopelessly looked at the battle. "COME ON WIZARD! YOU CAN DO IT! I HAVE FAITH IN YOU,BOY!"

Wizard perked up at the words of enthusiasm. He Determineddly looked Aeneas in the eyes, then quickly darted behind him and pecked him HARD on the base of the tail, then slashed at his side. "Hoo!" He said triumphantly.

"That's a good boy! Good job!" She praised her pokemon fondly.

Wizard's eyes glimmered, newly excited and ready for the next part of the battle.

Aeneas' eyes, if it were possible, were now glaring daggers at the Hoothoot as he turned his head to face it. The attacks were strong, granted, but Aeneas didn't feel anything except for that. Forsaken. PECK. "Veeee." He growled dangerously as he snapped at Wizard.

"Quick-Attack!" Kuzumi announced and blinked in surprise at how quickly Aeneas disappeared again. Some time during that blink, though, Aeneas had reappeared behind Wizard and was running head first towards the bird Pokemon. Then he remembered what excited his Eevee so easily: that Hoothoot attacked Aeneas' tail.

Always the tail- why was it always the tail? Did all Pokemon want to die? These were the cruel thoughts passing through Aeneas' head as he approached Wizard. He was sick and tired of others deciding his tail was the spot to attack, even if it was a good strategy. "Eevee!" He screeched as menacingly as an Eevee could sound.
