The Skyline began to light up as the night gave way to dawn. Aaron had set out about an hour or so ago, as the sunlight had just begun to rise over the horizon. He walked along the dusty road before seeing the entrance to the Cave.
The girl had said this was the quickest way through, so he sighed and stepped into the darkness. He'd been thinking Over what he happened in the Pokemon center a few times since he started off, and was upset at himself every time. He'd made a commitment, though, and decided he'd have to follow through.
The cave was dark. Aaron Rummaged in his bag, pulled out his flashlight, and flicked it on. Banner had already moved a bit ahead of him, his feline sight keeping his vision sharp. The Cave was dimly lit in some areas, and totally black in others, Aaron was thankful for his Flashlight.
He waved it around, taking in the cave. Stalactites hung from the roof and he could hear the low drip of water echoing through the cave.
He walked forward into the cave, footsteps reverberating throughout the cave.

Aaron and Banner scrambled out the other side of the cave. Panting, he turned to face the exit, surveying the mouth of the cave before letting himself fall to the ground. They'd both sprinted through the rest of the crumbling cave just in case they were being pursued. Aaron couldn't wipe the smile from his face. He lied on the ground panting from the run, his persian at his side, licking his wounds. He felt good, though. Banner had evolved, and they'd come out from a very dangerous situation alright. Wounded and tired, but they were alright.
He reached behind his belt and grabbed a pokeball. He'd only used it once when banner had decided to stay with him. Other than that, he hadn't kept his pokemon in it.
"This may be easier on you than walking the whole way with your wounds. Once we get to the pokemon center and get the medicine I'll get you all fixed up." He told the cat.
The persian angled his head towards him and flicked his ear. Rolling down on his side. the cats head was cocked upside down as he yawned and stretched out his legs into the air. Aaron let out a light-hearted chuckle as he opened the ball and let his persian be absorbed into the light. He replaced the ball on his belt as he climbed to his feet and dusted himself off.
He stared again at the mouth of the cave, mentally going over the encounter as he ran a hand through his hair, brushing out small bits of stone. Turning around he continued along the road to Parum Town. Picking up the pace a bit as he remembered the little girl and just exactly why he was going in the first place. He hoped the battling in the cave hadn't made him too late, and that he could make up the time on the return trip to Starling City.
