Today was a terrible day for a certain large, scarred blue Braviary that was flying busily around the rocky mountain. Yes sir, it was terrible indeed! His whole flock and family told him to hunt on his own this time, as a proof he was adult now. Didn’t his scars prove that? He assumed it didn’t. The whole flock knew those scars were from accidents... Most of them, anyway. His scar over his right ruined eye was one of the few scars he earned from battles.

A few flaps of his wings took him far from the mountains and into the woodsy area that wreathed the mountain like a necklace. He started to look back into his thoughts as he flew over the trees in a search for a worthy prey. He had to find one...

“Listen. I want you to hunt down a worthy prey so we know you are allowed to remain in our flock. If you don’t bring it back within a day, we’ll abandon you.” The largest Braviary spoke, his deep voice rumbling with each passing words. He shuffled his large talons around the rock he was sitting to give more comfort on his fleshy part of his talons and legs. His piercing yellow eyes stared down on the smaller, younger blue Braviary.

“Yessir.” The Blue Braviary replied simply as he stared back at the leader with his bright red eyes. He knew, in a way, the leader would still abandon him. After all, he was an outcast of his flock. The one who always brought danger to his flock due to his blue feathers.

Why did they have to fight over the territory with that Geodude family? He only saw no reason for this war. This war kept giving everyone scars, even the females. They kept losing chicks to those bird-eater rock monsters. It wasn’t right.

Everyone kept blaming him for their troubles, even the ones he had done nothing to.

He shook his head, fluffing up some of his smaller crest feathers before allowing it to be flattened by the howling wind. It was becoming a bad habit of his, thinking back about the negativity and getting depressed about it; through he never showed any signs. He looked downwards to seek out for that worthy prey. Everyone in his flock never told him any hints on how worthy it should be or at least which Pokemon it should be.

Stantler looked okay but it was actually their regular prey. Deerling and Sawsbuck were regular as well. He could try targeting a harder prey but it was rather hard to find one without risking a day. He looked around some more, attempting to see through the branches of those varying trees. The results yielded him nothing but a hungry stomach.

He flew around for a few more hours, seeking out for the worthy prey before landing on one of the tallest but bare trees and started to preen himself. Many flight feathers slipped through his beak safely with all of the miniscule gaps closed up. His head shot up from time to time as he preened to make sure no Pokemon would attack him.

It was doubtful. Who would want to attack a 6 foot tall blue eagle Pokemon with enough power in his talons and beak to break a tree in half or actually bend metal? (That is not true or false. They never tried it.)

He glanced around, tilting his head this way and that way in most bird-like fashion as expected. His sharp red eyes glanced at a strange colored Eevee. It had black collar and tip instead of having white. It wasn’t shiny, that much he knew. His stomach rumbled at the sight of that plump Eevee playfully romping around with a Petilil. He wouldn’t eat that grass Pokemon. They always tasted bitter.

The large eagle shuffled around, carefully turning his body in a proper posture before swooping off the branch and started to head in the direction of the delicious Eevee. The small Eevee wouldn’t make a good snack but it should take off the edge of his hunger for a short bit while he would look around for a sufficient prey.

He had his talons outstretched and ready to snatch that Eevee off the ground. He spread his wings out to slow his speed. He was still going fast so he had the element of surprise on his side. He opened his beak and let out a loud screech once he got close enough to the fox. It was so close he could have snatched up the fox but something inexplicable happened.

The black and brown Eevee ran as fast as it could, along with the Petilil to their human. Wait, now it looked like the human was sawing something off with that small sharp steel knife. He heard the snap and started to flap backwards in an attempt in lifting himself up in the sky.

A small group of rocks rained down on him. It didn’t do much in terms of damage but it was annoying. He had to close his left eye or he would probably lose that to the rocks and become blind. A few seconds later, he opened his eye to find himself accidently placed in the forest. Oh fuck. He hated trees, even though he could easily knock a few of them down.

He started to do so and heard another snap. A bundle of vines were flung at him, tangling and binding him to the ground. He opened his beak in fury and snapped a few vines that were holding his beak shut. No human could fuck with him when he had the power on his side. With a loud screech, he freed himself from the bundle of tight vines, ripping them apart with his wings, beaks and talons.

“NOW!”

He heard the human cry out. He turned around to see a large cloud of light blue surrounding him and inhaled some of them. He felt so sleepy all of the sudden and realized it was Sleep Powder. He attempted to snort them out but no luck. He fell to the earth, darkness swamping his eyes and his brain slowing down. No, he had to stay awake. He had to or this human would catch him and keep him as a pet.

He squawked an extremely bleary squawk before falling to the darkness. Ah, how sweet the sleep is! It didn’t have the colorful pictures of dreams or anything else. All he saw was darkness. He felt time passing so slowly. He wished he could just dream of being a hero of his flock and the leader would have to give up his seat for him.

Once the bird went off to sleep, Quincy acted quickly. “Okay. Dill, use Magical Leaf. Berry, use Quick Attack!” He ordered his Pokemon and watched as they sprang into the action. Both of them actually took turns.

Berry started the barrage of attacks by running with white glow around him around a tree in attempt to increase the speed and barreled into the bird’s head. Then Dill whipped her head around, releasing a group of spinning multicolored leaves at the bird, mostly at the wings so to prevent him from flying. They took turns this way until the bird would wake up.

Pain. He felt pain. Pain erupted on where he knew his wings were and his head. Everything was hurting. Why? Why were they attempting to awaken him? They should’ve caught him right there. No, they were probably cruel. So cruel to every Pokemon they probably have fought against. He knew he had to wake up or he would be too weak to fight back.

He snapped his eye open and unleashed a bird-like roar before struggling to get up on his talons. A ball of black and brown suddenly slammed itself into his head, causing him to screech angrily at the Eevee. He was still too tired and took this moment to look at himself. Groups of blotted blood, ton of small cuts that oozed small droplets of blood, and colored leaves sticking up into his beautiful blue wings greeted his sight.

He grew very frustrated, bordering on pure rage, with what was happening around him. He let out a screech and got up very unsteadily. It seemed like his talons couldn’t find the ground and grip it properly to stop from stumbling too far into a tree. His talons finally gripped the ground. He was now able to cause some havoc on this stupid human and his pets!

He flapped his wings, only to tuck them in tightly against his sides. He couldn’t risk further damage on his wings after what that little Petilil did to his wings. At very least, that’s what he thought. He knew this from experience that no matter what Eevees did, they couldn’t do any elements like tossing these leaves at high speed.

The large bird started to hop around in a strange manner to avoid any more attacks from these young Pokemon. His claws started to glow white and he lashed out to the two small Pokemon. That Eevee got raked on its side by one of his large talons. The cry of pain from the fox was music to his ears. Now this didn’t mean he liked seeing pain on his prey. He just had to do this.

“Berry! Dill, use Mega Drain!” The human shouted, pointing at him for dramatic effect or something like that. The Petilil called Dill rushed forward, risking getting clawed at by him and glowed green. Dill got hit on the side of her face, leaving an oozing gash, but she let loose three arm-like energy. He couldn’t really dodge properly due to his large size and the closeness of the trees and their branches so he got hit. It wouldn’t do much in terms of damage to him anyway. He was too strong for these two little ones.

The green arm-like energy faded away after a while, healing the gash on Dill’s face. It wasn’t bleeding too badly anymore but it was bleeding. “Berry! Are you alright? Wait, what are you doing?!” He heard the human say in louder volume and felt small pain in one of his legs. Berry had gotten up and promptly attacked him in the leg. It couldn’t really reach any further than the lower part of the leg. He could tell it wasn’t imbued with darkness. It was simply a bite from a pet. No more than that.

He lifted up his leg and, basically, kicked it forward, causing the Eevee to lose his grip on his leg. It didn’t fall to the ground, no. He kicked it to a nearest tree, where it collided against the rough bark at high speed his leg could kick. A crack was sounded and it fell to the ground, whimpering in pain like a young fox baby it was. He started to walk forward to crush this thing out of its misery. He thought the human didn’t care about his pets, seeing that the human actually had the nerve to attack him in his sleep.

The so-called cruel human actually ran forward and pulled out a red and white sphere with black line going around the middle of it. “Return!” The human called out. The sphere sprang into the action and sucked the fox into the ball with a red solid beam. Now that was interesting but not to him. He was pissed now. He had his prey taken away from him, right in front of him!

He leaped forward, one of his talons open to grab the human, when he heard another crack. Another trap?! A small log came out of nowhere, swinging at full speed at the bird’s blind spot. It was in the right area and he didn’t have his right eye. He looked at his left side and swiveled his head around to the right side just when the log slammed into him, pushing him further than what he should have gone.

How did the trap activate? He knew he wasn’t near anything that could have set off another trap. He got up, wincing at the pain. The log had gotten him rather too close to his wing. It clipped his right wing where a large gash was. He didn’t feel so good now that the log had slammed into one of his air sac and his stomach area. He wasn’t winded but he didn’t feel good now.

“Use Sleep Powder again! We have to finish this up so we can get Berry the attention he needs!” The human’s voice drifted over to his ears. He acted quickly and screeched at the pair before seeing a large light blue cloud drifting at him. He opened his wings to blow the cloud away, dashing away pair’s hope. But then, the Petilil rushed forward, moving in circles around him, spewing a small cloud here and there. He had to keep brushing away the clouds so he wouldn’t be falling asleep to that small, puny attack.

He noticed the Petilil stopped moving around him in circles. It wasn’t in front of him or on his sides. So it had to be facing his back. A sweet song suddenly made its appearance to his ears. Varying high-pitched and low-pitched tones weaved together to create the very sound he was hearing now. He felt the sleep tugging at his mind.

Oh god no. Not again. He turned around to face the Petilil with a leaf close to its mouth. He attempted to let out a scary screech to stop it from blowing into that leaf but all it came out was a very bleary yawn. He fell to the ground, eyes closed and one of his wings pinned underneath his large body.

“Okay! Use Mega Drain to heal up that gash and Magical Leaf again!” The human shouted, not wanting to get close to the large bird, in case if he should rise and lash out. Dill nodded, glowing green and sending out the green arm-like energy out to wrap around his body. She started to suck on the energy she pulled forcibly from him. Her bleeding gash healed up quite nicely with this energy. The green energy faded and left her quite healed up. She wasn’t at the full health but she was healed.

She took a stance and started to swing her head around wildly, tossing multicolored leaves at the large bird. She didn’t like this but she had no choice. The bird was too dangerous while he was awake. She swung her head around several times, shredding his wings and back a bit. Not too much that he couldn’t fly for a while but enough to cause some pain if he decided to fly away.

As Dill fired off her attacks, the bird was expecting to feel the pain but not this much. He didn’t feel this much pain when the weaker Pokemon attacked him with that human ordering them around but now he felt so much pain. Why was that? He would have to wake up again to see what’s going on and wake up he did.

His eye slid open again to see his wings in worse state than what it was previously. It pained just to move his wings around. It pained so much. There were more leaves in his wings now. He growled and screeched, rushing forward to strike this little grass Pokemon with his glowing white talons. His talons raked across her face and some of his body. She cried out in pain and glowed light green. Most of her light injures were healed but the deeper ones was too deep to be healed completely. At most, the claw wounds were smaller now.

He attempted to spread his wings open but quickly snapped them shut when the pain bombarded him. He wasn’t a wuss but he knew better than just attacking with injured wings. Who knew his wings could have snapped in half if he attempted to attack? He didn’t want to risk losing his wings to this annoying Pokemon who was now frantically healing herself.

He rushed forward once more with his talons ready to shred this little annoyance. He slashed at her but this time; his motions were more powerful than what it should have been if it were a Slash. He was using Crush Claw this time. The little Petilil squealed again when his talons raked across her cottony body. She was lucky to have moved backwards to escape. She could have died right there. She attempted to heal herself again but she was running out of her energy to execute some healing moves. In fact, her healing move was the last move she would use until she seriously rested.

Now out of energy, she couldn’t move as the large bird bore down on her. “Hey! Get away from her! Stop picking on her or- or- I’LL CATCH YOU, YOU DUMBFUCK BIRD!” He heard the human yell at him. He turned his head from Dill to the human and glared. That human catching him? Impossible! To make sure this wouldn’t happen to him, he screeched and rushed at the human.

Now the human was panicking and running to a tree. As if that would shield the blow he needed to execute on the human. In fact, he slashed at the tree made it splinter and fall sideways. He expected to see that annoying male standing behind that tree but there was no one there. Where was that male?

While the blue Braviary was busy with being confused at where his so-called opponent was at, Quincy, the human Braviary was attempting to kill, was hiding behind a tree. He knew he had one last trap to set off but the bird had to be in a proper place or otherwise the log wouldn’t hit him. He ran forward to a nearest tree. He heard a screech and ran again once the tree splintered under the bird’s Crush Claw.

The blue Braviary was getting closer and he could hear its labored breaths. It looked like he was getting tired of attacking and bleeding. He rushed forward for the last time at a tree and took out his small pocketknife. He swung the sharp blade at the hidden strung vine and it snapped. He threw himself at the ground and knew the bird was coming at him. He could hear the stomping and tired screeching of the blue Braviary.

He felt the log flying over him, falling from its held place, to the bird that was standing in the way. This time through, it wasn’t straight. It was swinging on its side. Even if the bird attempted to step out of the way, there was a chance it would hurt him some more. The bird did step out of the way, or he attempted to, if Dill wasn’t in his face, poking in his left eye. The log slammed into his stomach area and he bowled over. He fell sideways with a thud and soft, pained screech.

Quincy took this chance to get up, run over to the bird and throw a Poke Ball at it. The large bird was sucked into the ball in a red flash. The ball started to tick back and forth madly, nearly dancing around in circles. After a while of struggling for freedom, it seemed like the bird just gave up due to his low energy and wounds.

He didn’t mutter anything. He had to rush all of his team over to a Pokemon Center. He recalled Dill back into her ball and ran away from the forest and to the nearest Pokemon Center. He did mutter one thing.

“I’m so sorry if you were busy, Braviary.”
