Blake has been sitting in his Umbran quarters, he was finding pokemon to be fascinating. They seemed to be powerful tools he could squeeze, bend, and force to obey his every whim. Dervish, what he named his Sneasel after he learned that Pokemon 'like' having names. Blake thought that the pokemon didn't have to like him personally, but it gave the thing motivation. He wasn't going to start to give these little shits what he didn't give human beings. After Blake took the book from the Umbran library, Pokedex, the Complete Pokemon Encyclopedia. v5.0, he started to read on the 'little shits' there were many that were worth twisting and turning. Sneasel the least of them however. From his readings he found something though. A pokemon called 'Aerodacyl.' He is reading how wonderfully strong this monster was. "Aerodactyl's preferred method of killing its victims is by tearing through the throats of its victims with its serrated, saw-like fangs." Blake repeated from his book, "That could be useful..." "Aerodactyl is capable of flying at great speeds and tearing through prey with its fangs." He continued to iterate from the book, "and the list goes on..." Blake flipped off his back onto his bum. Resting his arms on his legs. Continuing to think to himself from interest in the odd beast, "How can I find this thing, nothing this beastly can exist!" One minute later he realized he was perfectly right, "t is widely considered to be extinct, and is only found by resurrecting it from the Old Amber." Blake read from the book. Blake laid down in his bed and squeezed his head. "This can't be possible!" Blake yelled in his little accommodation, "How could they dare taunt me with offerings of this magnificent pokemon, but there not be a single fucking one left!" Jumping up from the bed "God dammit!!!" Blake yelled, slamming his backhand into the lamp smashing it onto the floor. "Nothing goes right does it!" Blake continued to scream. His glasses fell off, his bright red irises shining in anger. His nostrils flaming, "That fucking scientist better have a damned idea where to find this Old Amber." Blake walked quickly over to his big iron door. Grabbing the handle he threw it open. The door smashed into the wall. Turning around, he picked up his glasses and put them on, looking around to make sure no one saw his irises, he ran out. Down the hall he looked like a bull. The bandanna covering his face, glasses covering his eyes, and fedora over his forehead, what you could see, nose and cheeks, were rose red. You could almost see the air blasting from his nose. Clearly told by his long pitch black hair blasting away from his nose. People staring at the furious man rushing down the hall. He was still stomping, unable to control his anger. They had to look up to him, everyone was so puny to him. Some even cowered in fear. Coming up to a door clenching his fists. "Enter At Your Own Risk" the sign read, but Blake didn't care, he was as brave as he was insane. Swinging open the doors he yelled. "Scientist!" Blake exclaimed not knowing the scientist's name, "Where the hell are you!" Moving across the room, his head was far below his hunch. Finding a book on the table, Prehistoric Pokemon of All Regions was the name of the book. "That scientist isn't here...at the worst time!" Blake said to himself, holding back from screaming this time, "This book however. That other book said Aerodactyl was a dinosaur...This book must help." Blake began to read the book, "Mt. Stella..." Blake murmured under his breathe. Grabbing the book off of the table, Blake shoved the book into his trench coat. Fixing his sunglasses he walked off. After walking for hours and hours Blake finally arrived at Mt. Stella. Kicking a tree with his combat boots in fury, "Fucking Hell!" Blake yelled collapsing onto the floor after using the last of his strength with his fury, "I'm never going to walk that distance ever again...." Blake was about to pass out from exhaustion. Reaching into his trench coat he threw out Dervish's pokeball. Smacking onto the floor it opened up. Releasing Dervish in the red flash. Dervish stood and waited for orders, taking no shit from Blake, not wanting another beating. "You...you're going to keep guard while I watch, and you're going up with me on that mountain. You have to be exhausted too, you're not going to be cozy in your damn pokeball the entire time." Blake ordered Dervish, and before Dervish could respond he fell asleep. The next morning Dervish was keeping watch still. Sitting, leaning on a tree. Blake woke up to the chirping of Pidgey in the trees. Kicking up to his feet, he picked up a rock and threw it at the tree with them in it. Smashing a Pidgey out of the tree, it fell and scurried off. The rest flew from the tree, far away. "Shut the hell up!!" Blake yelled. "C'mon Dervish, we're finding that damned Old Amber. Dervish and Blake started to walk up the side of the mountain. Shimmying across ledges, jumping small gaps, and when the tiny pokemon got in his way, like Rattata he simply kicked them off the freaking mountain. Blake, even after being rested, walking, and scaling, for a day he was still rushing in a frenzy. Dervish was having a hard time keeping up. He started to resort to jumping across everything, Blake was basically running. Finally, at the top of the mountain, there was a small plateau. Blake saw a pokemon along with two other people. Blake identified one of them as the scientist he heard about. Although he still didn't know his name he shouted, "You!" pulling out the prehistoric pokemon book and pointing to the scientist named Xaviero, even though Blake himself didn't know his name, with the book, "Scientist! Tell me where I can find a damn Old Amber. This book says they're on this mountain!" Blake waited for the answer. This was Blake's version of 'being polite' ever since he turned bitter. If he was really angry...well he wouldn't seeing as this man is his superior. |

After having been teleported from the lab back at the Umbran Headquarters, Xaviero found himself on the side of a mountain that he had never seen before. With a quick hand, he released Hanabi from her ball, letting the Houndoom stretch out. The Dark/Fire-type had never been one to like being cooped up in a Pokeball and was pleased to find herself free to move once again. "Hanabi," Xaviero greeted, affectionately giving what was now his oldest Pokemon a nice rub behind one of the horns protruding from her skull. Hanabi seemed to be loving the attention, as she hardly ever received it anymore. It seemed as if something had changed after the incident in Johto, but even if she could, Hanabi would not question her trainer. After all, he had kept her safe. She had survived the devastating fire while others did not. Letting out a soft growl, she pushed her head further into the Italian's hands and decided it was best just to enjoy the treat now while it lasted. As he scratched and rubbed his Pokemon, Xaviero took a moment to survey the mountain on which he had never been. It was almost like Mt. Silver back home. Almost. Although, it seemed too quiet for some reason that the scientist could not identify. With a slight frown and furrowing of his eyebrows, he took a moment longer to really observe what was going on on Mt. Stella. There were a few Pokemon lingering in the area, although all of them remained silent as if they were afraid of something. A sharp growl from Hanabi, who stood up straight and pushed her trainer's hand away, signaled the arrival of someone unknown. Moving so she was in front of her trainer and between the new arrival and Xaviero, she stared down the obviously furious man with glaring, savage crimson eyes, ready to strike should he do anything that she did not approve of. As soon as the man pointed at her trainer, another growl ripped from the canine's throat as she simultaneously bared her fangs. If he did not respect her trainer, who was a quite successful scientist back home, then she would refuse to like him, regardless of what her trainer eventually decidded. Noticing the Sneasel behind the man's leg, her snarl turned into a mocking laugh as she let a small lick of flames exit her mouth, eyes locked onto those of Dervish. Xaviero acutally laughed at the sight of the man demanding a fossil. Eyes remaining on Blake, he snapped his fingers, signalling he had had enough of her threatening demeanor. The Pokemon fell silent mid-growl, but continued to watch the newcomers warily. "Old Amber?" His accent twisted the enunciation of his words, which would have given them a lilting, singsong sound had it not been for the steeliness audible in his question and eyes. Taking a step forward toward the temperamental person, he adjusted his glasses. "Let me see this book of yours," he announced, acting as if he needed a book to actually identify what the man wanted. "Now, what would a man of your -- I believe the word demeanor is proper here-- want with a fossil?" He watched the man with mild amusement endowed with some cold harshness toward the stranger that had the audacity to storm up here and demand a fossil. "Who would you be, sir?" the word 'sir' came out rather mockingly and loosely, leading to another smirk to cross his face. "You'll have to be more convincing if you want my help... After all, non parlo ingles," he almost sang the Italian words meaning "I don't speak English" and smirked at the man. Who was he to come and demand things from Xaviero, anyway? |

Blake was still obviously flustered. Seeing him glaring at his red eyes while his glasses were down infuriated him further. This man's ego is enjoyable Blake thought However he is my superior, sadly. This bastard...It'll be fun to hang around with this type of person. Blake was amused because this is the exact reason he chose to stay in the Umbra Headquarters, to be around scum like this. Putting his hand down, book still in hand, with the other hand he put his tinted shades in front of his freakish red eyes. Dervish, was trying to hold back his fear for the dog. "Hmmph...annoying how weak you are." Blake said to Dervish so Xaviero couldn't hear him. Taking out Dervish's ball, he clicked it open. Dervish turned into red energy, sinking back into the ball as it closed. "My name is Blake" Blake said answering the scientist's question, "and, a man of my, 'demeanor' you put it, wants a fossil because I read about a truly powerful pokemon Aerodactyl. There is none left and seeing as you're a scientist I assumed you would know where the fossil is, and how to retrieve it. I want that damn Aerodactyl. A bit of a long winded explanation, yes?" The yes was exaggerated because Blake shouldn't have had to explain his story in the first place. "Now, I'm the new guy in team Umbra, and if I you help me to get that Old Amber and revive it..." Blake continued, pausing before the reward, thinking he shouldn't have to bargain with this man, "Do whatever the hell you want, I could help get another fossil if you want." trying his hardest not to continue to shout at the little man. "I'll be right back..." Blake said. Walking down the path he grunted and slammed his boot into the rocky wall in anger from being what he considered to be nicer than usual. Rolling his shoulders, cracking them, trying to stop him from killing the overly confident man, he walked back. Moving over to Xaviero once more, he handed him the book. "This book says that Old Amber could be found on Mt. Stella in Aerei, and my other book which I left in my quarters showed that Aerodactyls lived on mountains, if you need more information read the damn book. It was in you scientists' labs anyways." |

Xaviero took the book, flipping to a random page and looking down on it. It was not the Aerodactyl page, but that didn't matter. "Do you think that I need more information on the subject? After all, you found this book in my lab." His amused half smile returned to his features and he flipped through some more pages, barely paying attention to the contents. When he stopped at the page that began the chapter on Aerodactyl, he stopped and looked up at Blake from over the frame of his glasses. "This is what you want." Tilting his head slightly, he posed his next question. "Are you powerful enough to control such a beast?" The question actually did ring true, to an extent. "I could help you, but you would have to do something for me in the case that you cannot handle a Pokemon of this caliber." His expression lost all hints of amusement and he stood up straight, looking the tall man in the eyes. "We need an Umbran grunt around the lab. I am sure that the position would be acceptable for you." The Italian paused for a second, sorting through the words that he wanted to use next. "There would be quite a bit of room for advancement, should you agree." As a side thought, he added, "Oh, and I also want a fossil out of this." |

"Can't handle a pokemon of this caliber?" Blake repeated, he clenched his fists and continued, "I can handle this little shit, give me a Lugia and that'll be a challenge to bend to my will. This pokemon however, seems to be already ruthless, just how I like it." Fixing his glasses once again, flipping the pitch black hair from his face. The anger seemed to be subsiding now that he found someone who could get him what he wants. "I'll go ahead and hang out in your lab, my crappy little room was getting boring anyways." Blake said answering his request, "And the fossil...the fossil could be easily gotten with a little 'coercion'." After blake said that he cracked his knuckles on the inside of his sleek white gloves. "Even if this Aerodactyl is a little violent, even on the tiny, tiny, chance I can't handle it...and I mean it is a very very small fucking chance," Blake continued with his previous statement, "The lab seemed to have enough little toys, chambers, cages, and machines, to fix the damn thing to my liking...." Blake put his gloved hand on Xaviero's shoulder, "Anything for power." He placed his hand on his shoulder as an act of acceptance, but he still struggled not to squeeze his fingers into the pressure point by his shoulder. |

Yuki frowned softly as he arrived at Mt. Stella behind Xaviero; Adrastos right at his side. He remained silent and hidden as the other scientist spoke with an Umbran Grunt. Oh boy. He thought while rolling his eyes; this is just my luck. The grunt wanted a fossil and Xaviero wanted a fossil; well, Yuki had no reason to be bothered with the Italian's desire for that was reasonable as far as this dark-haired youth was concerned. As for Blake, Yuki wasn't as keen on. Adrastos, seeing as how he and Yuki remained unnoticed, unwound his connection to Xaviero's and Hanabi's minds well strengthening his grip on Yuki's. ~Something troubles you?~ The Gallade inquired as he heard the boy's thoughts. An image flashed through the human's mind which, in turn, appeared in his own. The boy's train of thought was as human as the Gallade's if his mind truly relied on images as much, maybe more, than on words. ~We don't have to stay; I can continue on if you like.~ Yuki nodded slightly at Adrastos' offer before silencing his mind for the most part. The agreement between Xaviero and Blake had been made and the two were to work together on acquiring fossils. "Well," he spoke aloud at last while stepping from behind the Italian with Adrastos matching him step for step; "it shouldn't be too hard to snatch one or two fossils. If you don't mind, Xaviero, will you do me a favor as well? There is a rare fossil that I want to experiment with and this blasted fool has it." That said, he lifted his right hand and waited as binary coding erupted from the palm of his glove and quickly formed an image of a man with blue-white hair and different colored eyes. "He has an excavation today, I've been keeping track of his movements, and it should be further up on the mountain." The young scientist gestured generally with his left hand towards the higher ledges of the mountain as he kept the image out with his right hand. "You'll know what I'm looking for when you see it." This was directed towards Xaviero. With everything said and done, he crushed the image into the palm of his hand and ran a hand through his hair. "Meanwhile, I'll be around Clearwater Caves. When you're ready, we can begin our experiments there- for all I care, bring him along. I'm sure there will be the right tools to bring those dinosaurs to life or, if not, I can just as easily build one. I'm not waiting." A silent order was given to the Gallade beside him before he and the Pokemon both disappeared via Teleport. |

"Well..." Blake said after the silent man left leaving a message, "It seems like we're gonna have to get used to each other, as much as I hate it....We're gonna be in the same lab, we gotta travel to the caves...." Blake cracked his knuckles and looked to him. We know where to get the fossils. "We're on the same page, we can get what we want now, and for now on we can help each other out." Blake said with a scowl on his face, "After you..." |

Xaviero, feeling the touch of Adastros' mind, glanced over his shoulder, nodding a curt greeting to the two before his attention was abruptly turned to the man in front of him as Blake grabbed his shoulder. The Italian tensed up, prepared to fight if need be. "Anything for power, you say?" It was an interesting prospect. The man would definitely be a fun subject to play with. With a swift movement, he brushed Blake's hand off of his shoulder, adjusting his field of vision to include Yuki as he spoke. "A favor? That is easily arrangeable." A small, unreadable smile crossed his face as he listened to the rest of what the adolescent had to say. Upon being presented with the image of the archaeologist from whom they would be stealing fossils, Xaviero's eyes scanned over the details, memorizing key features. Different colored eyes, the style, length, and color of the hair, skin tone, and face structure. Before he could reply further or make any inquiries about the man, such as the name of the target, Yuki and Adastros disappeared in the blink of an eye. The Italian stood, staring at the spot the two had been an instant previously. "Naturalmente..." he muttered under his breath as he turned his attention back to Blake. Xaviero let out a short laugh at Blake's comments about working together. "We all make sacrifices for what we want, no? 'Anything for power,'" he quoted, a bit of a smirk crossing his face as amusement lit up his eyes. This person would definitely be fun to toy with. Perhaps Yuki was rubbing off on the Italian. He seemed to now take much more pleasure out of turning people into his marionettes now than ever before. The thought was pushed away as a serious expression took over the entertained one. 'Time to hike. I hope you brought good shoes." That said, Xaviero began trudging up the slope of Mt. Aerei, glancing over his shoulder after a few meters to make sure that Blake was following. Hanabi trotted happily alongside her trainer, enjoying the wilderness. The canine's nose worked furiously as it deciphered different scents floating through the air, excitedly looking around to find whatever sources she could. Letting out a bone-chilling howl, Hanabi broke out into a loping sprint, every now and then doubling back to return to her trainer in order to ensure she did not lose the man. |

Laughter echoed around the mountain as a man, his blue-white hair bellowing in the decently strong wind, outstretched his arms and faced the sky; head thrown back as if he was laughing at the world. "This is the life!" He shouted and listened, a silly grin on his face, as his voice echoed. "I am Xalander and I am the greatest archeologist the world has ever seen!" He added as soon as the echoes of his first statement began to fade away. Of course, his words could very well have been a vast exaggeration- but who was to tell? No other person has taken it upon him or herself to claim the title of the superior archeologist so, with no possible competition to argue, he took it. In the hiking pack he lugged around on his shoulders were cases of fossils; each fossil precious in its own way. On his waist was a trainer belt with three occupied Pokeballs clipped to it as well as one currently empty ball. As a world class archeologist, he had to be prepared and had to have samples of the very creatures he collected. An example of his samples was currently perched on his shoulder, an Archen which was revived from a Plume Fossil. Life was good as far as this man was concerned. A favorite of his collections, however, was a sort of fossil that no scientist he met was able to revive. This fossil he carried around his neck like a sort of necklace. It was his most precious fossil; it was a fossil of Mew's eyelash. He had stumbled upon it on a destroyed island, how he got to the island he didn't recall, and it was his first fossilized find. That day was what started his career and that only made the fossil all the more precious to him. Screw the world as long as he had his historic Pokemon as well as the fossilized eyelash. Little did he know, a pair of Umbrans weren't that far below him. |

Hiking up the mountain took up a large part of the day. After a few hours, Xaviero suddenly turned around to face Blake. "I think now would be acceptable for a break." Tilting his head with mock amusement, he added, "Unless you'd prefer to keep going?" The Italian did not bother to wait for an answer, busying himself with walking over to a nearby tree that had been felled by something with obviously large claws, judging by the splintered break. Sitting down, he looked over Blake once again, giving a shrill whistle to Hanabi to return to his side. The Dark/Fire-type obediently trotted back, but was stopped about halfway up by the echoing cries of a person claiming to be the best archaeologist. At the echos, Hanabi's head shot toward the source of the sound, eyes staring up about a mile from their current location. Before the Dark Pokemon had a chance to react, Xaviero snapped one finger, getting her attention to let her know that revealing their location would not be good. Xaviero let his gaze drift upward lazily, as if hoping his eyes were good enough to identify a person a mile away. Of course they weren't, given the distance between himself and the person. Even if human eyes were strong enough to study a figure from that far away, his would not be. His eyes had been ruined years ago by near constant reading in dimly lit settings. He absentmindedly shrugged off the thought, letting his mind fit together a plan to get what they wanted. What they wanted. That thought reminded him that he was unsure what fossil he actually desired from the man. Sure, at first he wanted a Dome Fossil, but that would be replacing Mika. For the same reason the man did not want to capture a new Abra or Larvitar, he could not bring himself to want a new Kabuto. His lips fell into a bit of a frown as he thought of the types of fossils available. With a barely noticeable shrug, he pushed the thoughts away, deciding that he would take what was there and not have to make decisions. As long as it was a fossil Pokemon, he was fine with it. Turning his dark eyes onto Blake, he spoke a warning to the new Umbran. "Don't do anything rash." It would likely be best for the archaeologist not to be aware of their presence. |

After a little bit of walking, Xaviero asked to stop. Blake preferred to remain silent instead of insulting him, since he was tired after a short amount of time. Sure, Xaviero was older than Blake, but only one year. Blake heard the shout on the mountain. The world's best Archeologist? I think we have our mark. Blake thought in his sick joyful way. Blake walked by the other side of the tree. He peeked forward on the path and saw that he had the ancient bird on his shoulder. A lump in his plan, even though his plan was simply to tackle the arrogant man, knife in hand. This little lump in the cloth could be smoothed out with a little weaseling, literally. Blake was sitting by the tree before Xaviero got to him. Reaching into his trench coat he took out a pokeball. Tossing the pokeball to the ground it opened. The flash sent out Dervish the Sneasel. A literal weasel. "You're going to redeem yourself you timid...creature." Blake whispered to the spineless creature. "Now you're going to go up to that man with the bird on the path, and snatch that bird right off his shoulder. Cause the bird as much pain as you want, just. don't. kill it." Blake ordered Dervish, making sure he understood the killing part, "If you let this bird get away, I am tossing you off this cliff. Now go!" The Sneasel rushed off in fear of being thrown off of a damn cliff. Dervish ran and tip-toed up the path at the same time, luckily Blake was sitting on the opposite side of the tree from Xaviero. Blake wasn't listening to a word he was saying. Dervish jumped at the bird baring his claws. At the same time Blake followed and waited for Dervish to grab the ancient pokemon. Before Dervish did so however, Blake reached into his trench coat and took out his knife. Once Dervish has made contact with the bird Blake jumped in the fray. While the 'all knowing' archeologist was shocked by the wild attack Blake sent one arm around his mid section, wrapping across his body, and one arm to his neck, the one to the neck had the knife in it. He wasn't stupid however, this man should be living for them to extort him. But, for now Blake was doing things his way. |

The Archen, hearing some sort of commotion behind her and her trainer, hopped off Xalander's shoulder while flapping her wings in hopes of flying at last. Instead, she landed on the ground safely only to see a Sneasel lunging towards her trainer's shoulder. Was that thing after her? Well! Whatever it was doing, she wanted to eat it. Power began to gather around her, rocks lifting from the ground, and she released an AncientPower at the approaching Sneasel. Xalander, noticing his companion leaving his shoulder, turned his head curiously to see where it was going only to realize that the Pokemon was about to attack. "Whoa- wait!" He shouted, different colored eyes wide with surprise, as he waved both hands towards the Pokemon and fell onto his butt. Of course, Blake chose that time to snatch at him and hold a knife against his neck after hauling him back to his feet. "No no no! Put me down!" Unfortunately it was a bit late to be dropped. Several rocks flew towards the Sneasel and just as many were heading towards Blake and Xalander. Still he continued to uselessly flail his arms around in hopes that the rocks would change course when they realized he wasn't a target. Because rocks used in attacks are just that smart. |

Dervish was intuitive enough to get away from the rocks, but he was trembling in fear in case the Archen would get away. Blake was thinking carefully, We need this idiot alive Blake began to plan in milliseconds, As much as I'd like him dead...Ha, I got it. Blake was literally laughing out loud after the rocks moved towards them. Chuckling still he was on the ground with Xalander. Switching his arm to his leg, he was holding Xalander with his legs. Grabbing out the Mareep's pokeball he let the Mareep go in front of the shot. The Mareep materialized in front of the rocks flying towards Xalander and Blake. Once the rocks hit the Mareep, the electric sheep fell to the ground, however the sheep hit the corner of the cliff. Once the sheep hit the cliff side, it fell off of the mountain. Blake could hardly stop himself from crying of laughter. Before Blake lost the strength in his legs, he switched back to his arm, after he wiped off the tears of laughter of course. I wonder if this bird would understand me. Blake thought. "Now bird...You are going to be held by my little weasel here, or else your trainer gets it." Blake said, holding the knife closer to Xalander and tightening his grasp. "Did the rat understand me man?" Blake confusingly said nudging Xalander, "If not you're gonna have to tell him, tell him exactly what I said! Even the part about me slitting your puny throat." Jumping to his feet, he forced Xalander to get up as well. Walking backwards away from the Archen. "Dervish get over here!" Blake commanded. The scared weasel jumped back over to them, to leave the Archen alone to make its decision. |

As soon as Blake took off, Xaviero realized his words had been spoken too late to be registered by the man before he made his move. "Cazzo..." he swore under his breath. "Hanabi!" he called over his shoulder, racing up the mountain to intervene before Blake had a chance to kill their target. After all, what use would the man who knew the locations of the fossils be if he ended up a bloody, pulverized corpse on the side of the mountain? Sure, he'd be an appreciated treat for some carnivorous Pokemon, but they weren't here to provide charity. Hanabi caught up to Blake and Xalander much sooner than her trainer, snarling at both before turning her bared fangs to the Archen. Opening her deadly maw, she let a dark energy materialize into a large mass and sent the Shadow Ball careening toward the fossil Pokemon. Xaviero arrived moments after Hanabi, his breathing heavier than usual. "What do you think you're doing!" he nearly shouted, dark eyes staring angrily at Blake. "This is not how things were to be done! Now, release him. And don't worry, he won't be escaping anywhere." Xaviero summoned his Mawile and Skarmory to the field. "Make sure he stays here at all costs." Accia, the Mawile, frowned at the order, crossing her arms stubbornly until a snarl from Hanabi set the Steel-type straight. With a submissive squeak, she moved into position, false jaw opened and ready to snap on Xalander, should he try to escape. Her eyes constantly drifted between Hanabi and the archaeologist, making sure that she wouldn't have to deal with any unexpected flames from the canine. Gin, the Skarmory, spread his wings out, prepared to fight and send the human, who could easily be carried off by the Steel/Flying-type, flying over the edge of the nearby cliff. With a loud cry, he fixed an unwavering glare on the archaeologist and awaited further order. Xaviero approached the archaeologist, a dark, sadistic grin on his face. "Fossils. What do you know about them?" His right hand slipped into one of his pockets, fingers wrapping around a syringe with the tip covered. Keeping his hand there, he let himself study the man up close, noticing a chain around his neck. "Oh, what's this?" His left hand snapped up, yanking the fossil on the necklace into view. The Italian studied the fossil, mentally categorizing it with the countless others he had memorized in his lifetime. After a moment, his eyes lit up with sudden realization. This was the fossil Yuki wanted. "We shall be confiscating this. If you want it back, you're going to have to return to our government headquarters with us. I'm afraid this is illegal for you to possess." That said, he yanked the fine chain, snapping it off of the man's neck and placing it safely in his pocket. "Now what were you saying about fossils?" he asked with a mocking smile. |

Xalander blinked slowly as he watched Blake sacrifice a Mareep, laugh about it, then try to tell his little Archen what to do. When the Umbran turned back to glare at him however, Xalander actually laughed. "You're crazy! Who do you think I am?" That question asked, he turned his attention to Xaviero who seemed to be a bit worn out. "Oh hi! You're a scientist? Would you like a cup of tea?" How could he have known that this wasn't a joke? Meanwhile, Archen was screeching as she a Shadow Ball flew her way. Immediately she opened her jaws wide and released a might Dragon Pulse which hit the ghost attack dead on with the result being a tremendous explosion. Following this, she used a Quick Attack to get to her trainer's side and perform an improvised Knock Off; Blake was going to get shoved off her trainer whether these Umbran liked it or not. Xalander, however, was beyond shocked at Xaviero's actions. "You can't confiscate that!" He cried out indignantly. "Unless you return that to me this instant, you will not get a drop of information from me! " And that was that. He even gave a little huff and turned his head away to look out over the cliff. "You two are fools and I hope Darkrai gets you both in your sleep." |

Blake regained his balance before he fell off the damned cliff. Blake stomped over to Dervish angrily and shouted, "You litte rat! You let him get past you, counter a shadow ball, and almost knock me off of a damn cliff! You little SHIT" Blake sent a swift kick into the stomach of the weasel into the wall. Worthless... Blake thought, Luckily I have something to help. Blake reached into his trench coat with the knife hand. Putting the knife away Blake took out the Mr. Mime's pokeball he stole. Blake summoned it onto the path by the cliff. The red light dissipated after it gained form and it looked around for the crowd angrily. However the Mr. Mime was surprised. It turned around to see Blake, the person by where it fired the Psybeam at the carnival. It got a little happy. It felt it wasn't a freak, it wasn't out making barrier for other people to gawk at. "You, you're going to create a barrier around that man and his bird..." Blake said making sure Xalander couldn't hear him. But the Mr. Mime wasn't ready to just take orders after being bought, stolen, or even given away. "Listen here you...mime. I may not be your trainer, but that ass called you a freak, I can tell you're a regular Mr. Mime, now unless you want to be given back to the jackass, then you're going to make that barrier." Blake commanded. The Mr. Mime gulped, at least it wasn't going to get whipped. It turned and walked over to Xalander and the Archen. With a blink of an eye nearly, the Mr. Mime already had two barriers up, one in front of Xalander and one to the side. This left them to only be able to move into a wall, or off the cliff. "Listen here you snobby little twat! This is official business, now he is keeping that fossil whether you like it or not, or I'm gonna get frisky again...Now tell us! What you know about fossils!...and of course which ones you have on you...." Blake intervened in his own way. -- EDIT: Secret Easter Bunny Egg!

As soon as Xaviero saw the border placed up between himself and Xalander, he frowned, glaring over at Blake for a split second. Did he even know what he was doing? It didn't seem like it. Even though he was new to Umbra, the Italian was not about to be kind about the mistakes. "What do you think you're doing?" he hissed. "Hanabi, Dark Pulse. Destroy those barriers. For all I care, take that pest," he glanced at the Mr. Mime, "with them." The entire sentence was said in swift, fluent Italian. The Houndoom complied eagerly, sending a blast of dark energy flying both toward the walls and the Mr. Mime that created them. This would not do. The man needed to be trained. Even Xaviero, who was almost as new as Blake, knew better than to attack like that. Turning his cold glare to Blake, he spoke in English once again, his accent heavier than usual due to the recent use of his native language. "You, do nothing until I say to." His eyes returned to Xalander, a surprisingly compliant smile on his face. "So if I give you back this fossil here, you'll talk?" At this point, all hints of feigned friendliness gave way to his darker side, a malicious smirk taking over his features. "I will give this back to you, but if you do not speak, my dear Hanabi here will be given free reign of what to do with you. She's rather hungry; she hasn't eaten in a while, have you Hanabi?" That said, he held the fossil on the chain out in front of him with his left hand while his right tightened on the syringe in his pocket, flicking the cover on the tip off with a careful thumb. Hanabi's eyes gleamed with delight at the prospect, tail swishing in anticipation and growling her affirmation to Xaviero's comment. She drew closer to her trainer, crimson eyes locked onto Xalander and fangs bared in a malevolent sort of grin. She stood about a foot back from the archaeologist, thrilled that she could play the role of the intimidating, monstrous Pokemon. Before, it had always been Xaviero's late Tyranitar, and the Houndoom had always longed to take his place. The Dark/Fire-type enjoyed inflicting terror just as much as any other Dark-type and played her role well. Edited by Aki, Mar 13 2011, 09:37 PM.

Now that Blake was off of him and Archen was by his side, he happily sat up and stretched his arms; glad for the freedom of taut muscles. Unfortunately this minor freedom came with a bigger price. Seeing as how he was given a choice to cooperate or drop off the cliff, he chose the latter. Naturally he wasn't listening in the slightest. Choice made, he scooted over to the cliff, his Archen perched on his shoulder with his hiking bag held tightly in its beak, and watching the others. Although the fossil Pokemon was aware that her master wanted that fossil necklace back, she didn't know how she could possible apprehend it. In fact, she didn't even know how she could keep her master from dying if Xalander actually fell off the cliff. Then Xaviero began to speak and all he managed to hear was fossil talk which made him look over to the scientist with a look that could clearly be read as that of his wondering if the latter was crazy. That was when he realized that the barrier was under attack. Quickly he slid off the edge of the cliff, glancing down to see how far up he was, then smoothly climbing down a bit only to go sideways. No, he wasn't about to flee. He was merely moving positions. Once to the side, he scrambled upwards, heading to the top of the wall, and pulled himself atop the wall that was previously used to keep him in place. With a relieved sigh, he took his bag from his loyal bird and slid it over his arms as the Archen bounced up so he could slip a strap over the shoulder it was perched on. Crawling over to peer over the side, Xalander quirked a curious brow at the Houndoom. "You know who else is hungry?" Getting to his feet and patting the dust off his pants, he then flashed a grand smile down at his adversaries. "Sabia here is hungry." The Archen nodded, ever wide eyes glancing from one Pokemon to the next. When her trainer snapped his fingers and brandished an over-exaggerated gesture towards those below them, the bird flapped her wings and hopped off Xalander's shoulder. As she hit the ground, there was a rumble before a Rock Slide started and part of the wall burst into decent sized boulders and jumped from the wall to fly towards each of the opponents below; trainers included. "Toss me the fossil and I'll happily answer your questions~" Xalander announced, his enunciation of the word 'happily' emphasized with a singsong ring to it. "Can't we be civil? I've work to tend to, don't you?" |

The Dark Pulse was beaming towards Blake's relatively new Mr. Mime. No matter how much Blake hated society and everything in it, he needed this mime to like him. So to prevent him from taking an attack Blake came up with an order, "Unless you want to fly from your current spot from that pulse, you should put up a Light Screen..." The Mr. Mime was confused, he didn't want to obey his commands, but it seemed he had to or else he'd be pounded in the face. the Mr. Mime moved its hands about in front of it and blocked the pulse with a Light Screen. Blake knew that the mime was proving much more useful than that wimpy little Dragonite the carny had. However, saving the mime was the least of his problems. Blake had to try to stop himself from attacking Xalander and Xaviero. Blake also knew if he had control, they would have the fossils, and maybe a little extra by now. He clenched his fists and pouted out his nose. Xaviero didn't know Blake, so he had no idea how much of a temper he had. It was a wonder that he could hold back. Blake didn't know why Xaviero wanted to talk to him if Blake could easily force him tom give the fossils, information, and maybe some money too. Even worse, Xalander could get away now! or the worst of occasions, attack them! Blake was sure that they could handle attacks from this man, but that he would give him the opportunity to attack! Blake was blazing... "Have it your way," Blake said the Xaviero, "If you don't want to do things the fast and efficient way, then I'll just stand here. You obviously don't need help." Blake sat down and looked up. When the bird got down and the rocks were falling he looked to the mountain when they were rolling down. "But if he gets away..." Blake stopped himself. "Mr. Mime put a barrier to block those rocks." Blake said quietly trying not to 'disturb' the two fancy scientists. The Mr. Mime looked up, and trying to hide its movement put up an invisible barrier to block the rocks from hitting them. |
