"... 1000... 1500... 2000. I don't think that's enough for us all to eat." Hannah murmured, strumming through her stash of money and recounting, hoping that perhaps she had more than she previously thought. Oh, why was it she never asked for money when she battled? While 2000 wasn't none by any means, it was hardly enough for one meal at the Le Restaurant Micle. Clearly disappointed, Hannah put her money back into her backpack, staring ahead of herself in thought. She had come all this way for a nice treat for her Pokemon (they had been working hard lately) only to realize she had no money.

Thinking on it, she didn't even have anything she could sell. She supposed they wouldn't mind another evening of berries and poffins, but she knew they had to be getting tired of the same thing each and every day. They deserved a treat now and then - if only she could afford it. Still searching for any way to make money, Hannah suddenly heard a bit of laughter behind her. Turning her head, she noticed a couple (she assumed) exiting the restaurant, smirking. Both were dressed lavishly; the boy was wearing a silky tux while the girl was carrying a purse that looked to be embroidered with diamonds and other jewels.

"I believe you're in the wrong place," The boy prudishly said. "The laundromat is that way."

Both the boy and girl began to laugh once more, at which point Hannah looked down at herself, and frowned. It was a stab at her clothes, which had become a bit dirty during her travels. While such an insult usually wouldn't hurt most people, to a somewhat vain individual like Hannah who loved to look nice, being called dirty was a shot below the belt. The dark-haired girl clenched her teeth and stood, approaching the two. Shaymin began trembling beneath Hannah's scarf, sensing the tension arising from its trainer. As soon as Hannah stepped in front of the rich couple, they stopped laughing and smiled. This time, the girl spoke.

"Oh, please don't start talking to us. I'm quite embarrassed to have commoners speak to me." She said, lifting her hand to dismiss Hannah.

"Commoner!" Hannah spat, outraged by this. How dare this... this broad call her a commoner! She was a member of the Elite Four, one of the strongest trainers in Aerei. How dare she wave her off like she was nothing! Oh, she wished she hadn't returned Honey to her ball, otherwise this little girl would be quivering in her bonnet. Face flushed, Hannah began to reach under her scarf to straighten her necklace, brandishing the Elite Four pendant. "How dare you call me a commoner! I'm one of the strongest trainers in Aerei!"

The girl and boy looked at one another in disbelief, then the boy frowned. "I must admit, I once held the Elite Four in high regards - until now, that is. I can't imagine the Pokemon League would just hire anyone, let alone some dirty begger. Why, what are they doing, hiring bums off the street? There was a time I was considering challenging the league. Now, humph! I wouldn't waste my time with you."

"I'm not rich, but I'm certainly not a dirty begger! I'd say you're afraid now that you know who I am. Either that, or you're just mad that I'm prettier than your little girl friend here." Well, at least Hannah had gained her confidence back. Hearing this, the girl in the bonnet stepped forward, thrusting her diamond-embroidered bag into the boy's chest.

She lifted her hand, pointing threateningly. "I'll not have the likes of you speak of me that way! Be gone before I crush you myself!"

"You, crush me?" Hannah raised a brow, reaching for one of the pokeballs strapped to her waist. "You have no idea who you're dealing with."

"Go, Muffy!"

The lady threw her Pokéball, encased in a crystal ball capsule, releasing a Persian in a flurry of sparkles. The Persian shook her head out and stretched, casually showing off her diamond-encrusted collar.

The rich boy crossed his arms and leaned against the little fence around the cafe, eager to see how this cat fight went.

"Prude little bi-" Hannah murmured, cutting herself off when the Lady threw her (jewel encrusted, of course) ball into the air and released a rather spoiled looking Persian. While she would be the first to admit that she did rather like the feline's collar (diamonds were a girl's best friend, after all), the fact that the broad thought she could beat her after previously insulting was rather grinding. So, the dark-haired girl threw her own Pokeball into the air (plain, unfortunately) and released a large (being over-leveled a bit, Ginger had grown considerably) Sandshrew, whom immediately adjusted the red bow tied around her ear. The shrew-like Pokemon stood on her hind legs and sniffed the air, looking up at the Persian and turning her nose up.

"Defense Curl, Ginny, then hit it with Rollout!"

The Mouse Pokemon squeaked in affirmation then proceeded to curl into a basketball-sized ball, at which point it suddenly shot forward at breakneck speed towards 'Muffy'. The good thing about using Rollout as opposed to Rapid Spin was that it offered the Sandshrew more maneuverability, meaning that if the Persian were to jump out of the way, she could suddenly turn and follow the feline if need be.

"Muffy! Faint Attack!" the lady called.

The Persian made a small, purring meow, and charged at Ginger. However, she was nowhere near as fast as the Sandshrew, and instantly took the Rollout to her forehead gem.

Muffy yowled in pain, and her eyes stared up as if she could see the gem on her forehead. The only thing keeping her from feeling it for damage was the rage she felt at the audacity of this filthy little rodent!

The lady felt the same way, as she shrieked at the attack.

"Aah! How dare you- you- rotten child!"

She stamped her foot and pointed at Ginger.

"Muffy, Faint Attack, then Bite that thing! Make it your new chewtoy!"

With a roar, now, the Persian ran at Ginger again, and disappeared. She reappeared next to the Sandshrew, claws bared and ready to pounce on the Pangolin Shrew Pokémon. Once she had landed, she'd cling to the Sandshrew and bite whatever she could reach, gnawing on Ginger like she was a rubber toy.

Upon making contact with the Persian, Ginger shot off to the side from the recoil of smashing in the feline's forehead, uncurling in mid air and landing on her feet a few meters off to the side. The Mouse Pokemon noticeably smirked, a glint of triumph somewhere in the midst of her stark black eyes. Then, just before the she could become too proud of herself, the rich girl started pointed and shrieking, referring to her as a 'thing'. It didn't help that Ginger's personality was about the same as the Lady's, so being called a filthy creature was quite an insult. Why, she was a beautiful little lady!

So, like any beautiful lady, the shrew started to hiss threateningly, outstretching her claws to try and intercept the Persian the best she could. She rushed forward to Scratch the feline - but it vanished. Without warning, the cat plowed into her from the side then proceeded to hook in her claws, scratching and gauging as if she were some sort of toy. Utterly outraged by this, the Sandshrew let out a loud scream, flailing within the cat's grasp - then came the blinding white light that every trainer hoped to see. In the midst of the Persian's grip, the formally tiny Sandshrew began to warp and grow. Rows and rows of sharp spines began to sprout, no, shoot from the growing creature's backside.

As the light faded and revealed a newly evolved (and red) Sandshrew, the pangolin-like Pokemon found a new sense of confidence. Narrowing her eyes at the Persian (seeing as how they were point black), the Sandshrew suddenly curled into a protective ball (spikes facing outward) and began to use Rapid Spin. If this didn't dislodge the cat, then nothing would. That being said, it Muffy did decide to let go, Ginger would then roll away a safe distance and then uncurl, brandishing her new set of claws. Meanwhile, from the side lines, Hannah was grinning.

"You can handle that prissy little flea bag! Crush Claw, Ginny!"

The Sandslash rushed forward with it's claws outstretched as if it were about to slash directly at the feline, but suddenly spun off to the side about a foot or so away from the cat to attack from the side rather than head on. The idea was to catch the cat off guard by this, like it had with the Faint Attack.

"That's cheating, you brat! You can't evolve like that in the middle of a battle!" The Lady screamed when Ginger evolved.

The Persian, who had been wrapped around the Sandshrew chewing it on like a squeaky toy, blinked when it realized that the Sandshrew seemed to be growing beneath it. The Classy Cat Pokemon watched with slightly confused eyes as color filled the Sandslash and now that their eyes were point black, noticed the look in its eyes. Growling a bit, the Persian lashed out to bite the pangolin's snout, getting in a decent nip before Ginger curled into a spiky ball and started to use Rapid Spin. With a pained yowl, Muffy backpedaled, liking her hurt paw.

"Use that pretty little gem of yours on that rat, Muffy!"

Looking up, the Persian started to jump out of the way of the Sandslash's Crush Claw, narrowly avoiding being struck by the Shrew's curved claws. Padding behind the creature, Muffy mreowed softly, the gem on her forehead glowing a faint red. Then, she proceeded to fire a beam of energy from the aforementioned gem, aimed to strike the Sandslash's backside.

Ginger stumbled forward, slamming her claws into the ground as the lithe feline side-stepped the attack. While she was trying to pull her claws from the ground, the spoiled little cat was preparing a Power Gem attack.
"Defense Curl!" Hannah shouted quickly, to which the Sandshrew obeyed immediately. As soon as it curled up, the Power Gem attack plowed into its backside; despite being curled up, the Rock type attack still hurt.

"Uncurl your spines, send it back! Then hit it with Rapid Spin!"

Hannah ordered, having an idea. While she would normally lie her spines down for more protection, Ginger lifted the spines on her backside, sending the Power Gem beam back towards the Persian. After breaking the Persian's concentrating (and the Power Gem beam), Ginger would spin around and simultaneously uncurl, claws outstretched. Without uncurling and merely holding her claws at her sides, she used Rapid Spin, attempting to slam into the Persian with multiple Slash attacks.

Muffy jumped back with a yowl as her own Power Gem attack was sent back to her feet, catching her off guard. As she regained her composure, the Sandslash was whirling towards her, slamming both of her claws into her face in quick succession. The Classy Cat Pokemon stumbled backwards, her diamond encrusted collar cracked from the blow. With a pitiful 'mreow', the cat fell over in a heap, much to the dismay of the Lady.

"Muffy! Oh, how could you loose! You brat, you're going to pay for breaking her collar! Go, Deary!"

The Persian was recalled and replaced with a Stantler, who, like the Persian, was also wearing some sort of overly elaborate collar.

Ginger stopped spinning, wobbling to and fro, clearly dizzy from the Rapid Spin. As she watched the Lady recall her Persian, the Sandslash let out an excited chatter and hurried over to Hannah (as fast as those heavy spines on her back would allow her). Hannah grinned and readjusted the Mouse Pokemon's prized bow, watching out of the corner of her eye as the Lady called out a Stantler, "Why don't you sit this one out, baby."

Ginger reluctantly agreed, hoping to the sidelines while Hannah rummaged around for a better suited challenger. She tossed Jolie's ball out onto the field, allowing it to bounce back to her hand as the Sawsbuck materialized out onto the field with an air of pride about it. She looked at the Stantler and snorted, making it obvious she knew she could beat the other deer Pokemon.
"Start out with a Sand Attack, then use Megahorn!" Hannah shouted, pointing to the opposing deer Pokemon.

Jolie pawed the ground once, then stomped her hoof, sending up a wave of dust and sand that immediately engulfed the battle area. When the Stantler's vision was impaired, Jolie rushed forward, head bowed, with her antlers glowing a bright white color. The idea was to get her antlers under the Stantler's breast and then shove it upward before it could retaliate with it's own horns. Then again, a Stantler's horns were more delicate than a Sawsbuck's.

"Oh, now I've got dirt all over my dress! Ugh! Deary, use Extrasensory!" The Lady stamped her foot.

Unable to see where the Sawsbuck was heading, Deary lowered his head, the orbs in his antlers glowing softly. The idea was to try and pin point the Sawsbuck and attack it before it count connect. However, as soon as the Stantler initiated the Extrasensory attack, Jolie was already plowing into his torso, lifting him up with her antlers.

Instinctively, the Stantler began to use Thrash, hoping to avoid being lifted up and then slammed straight into the ground.

As Jolie rushed forward, horns ablaze, the Extrasensory attack hit her. While she did actually manage to impact the Stantler as planned, she was collapsing as she did so, the hit being more of a collision as the psychic attack locked up her muscles and caused her to go limp for a moment. So, despite the fact she had gotten her antlers underneath the Stantler's breast and managed to lift it, she didn't have the dexterity to do much else. That, and the Thrashing Stantler had managed to kick her in the neck. Grunting in pain, the Seasonal Pokemon pulled her head away from the Stantler and backed away, her muscles finally coming to after the attack.

"Energy Ball, Jolie! Then use Double Kick!"

Like all fighting hoofed animals, both animals seemed to be mutually kicking in between commands. The Stantler lashed out with it's right front hoof, at which point Jolie backpedaled, charging a beam of green energy between her antlers and then firing it at the Stantler. Immediately after firing the Energy Ball, Jolie would spin around on her hooves, lashing out with her back hooves to try and nail the other deer Pokemon in the face if possible.

"Bite that poor excuse for a deer, Deary!"

Snorting in indignation, Deary reared forward to kick the Sawsbuck in the face like any hoofed animal, only to realize that Jolie was charging up an Energy Ball. Acting on its own command, a glint become noticeable in the Stantler's eyes as it used Me First, then rushed forward with enough speed to use Stomp before Jolie could attack. It was still hit by the Energy Ball, however, it was hoping that the pain from the Stomp would put the Double Kick off kilter.

"Why aren't you listening to me, Deary?! I said Bite!" The Lady screamed, at which point the Stantler would snort and obey, however inconvenient it was. The deer Pokemon rushed forward, trying to snap it's teeth shut around Jolie's snout.

After being kicked in the neck, Jolie faltered, head falling forward some, which changed the trajectory of the Energy Ball from it's original target (Stantler's face) to it's torso. Shaking off the pain of the stomp attack, the Sawsbuck spun around as planned and nailed the Stantler in the jaw with her first hoof. Spinning around a second time, she nailed the Deer Pokemon on the side of the snout and sent it reeling backwards. Of course, being sent off kilter like that, the Stantler's wobbly attempt at a Bite attack didn't go over too well.

"Horn Leech, Jolie!" Hannah shouted from the sidelines.

Snorting, Jolie ducked her head, several green tendrils wrapping about her flowered horns. As the Stantler reached forward to Bite Jolie's neck, the Sawsbuck headbutted the other deer, intentionally locking her antlers with the Stantler's. When she successfully managed to lock her horns with the Stantler's, the tendrils would proceed to lock around the Stantler's antlers and then start to drain as much energy as it could.

The first instincts of a deer Pokemon when presented with another charging one, is, to butt antlers. So, when Jolie rushed forward with her horns forward, Deary did the same, locking the two together. As soon as this happened did the Stantler realize this was a bad idea; when their antlers connected, the green tendrils began to wrap around his antlers and drain as much energy as it could. As he struggled to pull away, he was met with a hoof to the chest as Jolie began pushing him backwards, into a nearby tree. With all his energy being transferred into Jolie, the female Sawsbuck easily overpowered him, forcing him into the free and preventing him from escaping the antler lock.

Though, the deer did manage to deliver a parting blow. Before he fully collapsed, he snapped his hoof outward, kicking Jolie in the neck as many times as he could before his muscles just felt too tired to move any more.

With an exhausted cry, Deary slowly fell to his knees, then collapsed. The Lady was furious.

"Deary! How could you?!" She cried, pointing accusingly at Hannah. She returned the deer, thus ending the antler lock for Jolie, and then looked over to her male companion, pointing threateningly at Hannah. "Well? Aren't you going to do something about this?!"

The rich lad blinked, and then sighed, pushing himself off his previous roost and cracked his knuckles, then taking out his own pokeball. The capsule was less jewel encrusted than the Lady's, but still seemed expensive nonetheless. With an overly snobby head turn, he head the ball out, "Go, Flash."

From the ball materialized a Zebstrika, which immediately snorted and stomped the ground. With a confident smirk, the boy waved for Hannah to go first. "I suppose the general rule is ladies first."

As Jolie forced the Stantler down, there was a noticeable look of pride in the doe's eyes. Although, after the Stantler had finished it's repeated kicking session, several bruises were noticeable on the deer's neck. When the other deer collapsed and was returned, the seasonal Pokemon looked back at Hannah, earning a congratulatory smile from the trainer. Raising Jolie's Pokeball, the doe was returned, just in time for the Rich Boy to step up to the plate. Hannah's hand was already caressing Bonnie's Pokeball.

"You sure you want to go through what your little girlfriend did too? Alright, then, go for it, Bonnie!"
From the ball materialized the Rapidash, who snorted and ignited the flames on her mane and tail upon meeting the gaze of the Zebstrika. Before the two were even given commands, it seemed their was an instant dislike between the two hooved Pokemon.

"Captivate him, Bonnie, then hit him with a Quick Attack!"

Despite the instant dislike between them, she was a still a female Rapidash up against a male Zebstrika. With a glint in her eye, she lowered her head and snorted, whipping her fiery tale around her hocks. A small glint was visible on the very tip of her horn. Then, without warning, the horse shot off, becoming a blur of flame as she rounded off to the Zebstrika's side and plowed into him with her horn.

"Don't fall for that nonsense, Flash, shock that hoofed monstrosity."

The Rich Boy waved his hand, fully expecting for the Zebstrika to obey with no hesitation. However, Flash did hesitate some, regarding Bonnie with a suspicious look in his eye when she bowed her head and extended her sparking tail flame. He lifted a hoof, backing away, but still stared at the Rapidash with a failing sense of inhibition. He looked to his trainer, unsure of what to do, which was exactly when Bonnie struck. Before he could retaliate, the femme fatale had darted off to the side and slammed into his side with her horn. Flash immediately snapped out his previous daze and raised his lips in an aggressive gesture - at least, among horses it was.

"Here, here, use Shock Wave. Follow up with a Thunder Wave powered Tail Whip."

Stomping his foot into the ground, a small stream of electricity flickered from his mane, aimed to strike Bonnie's lightning-rod horn. Assuming the move would easily hit it's mark (and he knew it would, Shock Wave never missed), the haughty Zebstrika would then charge forward and torn on his hooves, hoping to slam his star-shaped tail into the other horse's snout and deliver an electrical shock that would, hopefully, paralyze Bonnie.

"Flame Wheel Bounce, Bonnie!"
While Hannah's last second command sounded more like a jumble of meaningless attacks rather than an actual thought out attack, the horse seemed to understand nonetheless. Using those powerful legs of hers, she sprang up, far enough for the bolt of electricity to hit the ground where she had been previously standing with no ill effects on her. Mid air, the horse would change her position and point her hooves downward, pinning them together so all the weight would be concentrated on one central point; the Zebstrika.

Simultaneous to this action, the flame streaming from her hocks would wrap around her feet and create a spiraling torrent that would inevitably burn the foe upon impact.

The Rich Boy huffed when he saw the Shock Wave hit the ground, unsuccessful.
"Use Charge Beam, Flash, full power!"

With a nervous snort, Flash tried to watch where the Rapidash was, but seemed to have trouble guessing where she was coming down because of the sun. So, the Rapidash plowed into the Zebstrika's backside and both came crashing to the ground - simultaneous to this, Flash fired a Charge Beam from his mane. The second the two crashed into the ground, a bright white light engulfed them. Less than a second later, a loud explosion rocked the premises, stirring up dirt and debris in it's wake. Both Pokemon were sent flying to opposite ends of the makeshift battle field and all three trainers were knocked backwards.

The Rich Boy and Lady looked at one another, their previously white outfits now covered in dirt, and scrambled to their feet, fire in their eyes. The Lady, whose bonnet and purse had been blown out of her hands, wiped her now disheveled hair out of her face, glaring at the girl.

"Look at what you've done! You insolent little brat, my dress is ruined!" She screamed, stomping her foot on the ground. The Rich boy (while returning his fainted Zebstrika) tried in vain to calm the screaming and crying Lady, and eventually the two, afraid of being seen by their peers, hurried away from the chaotic scene. Hannah, still sitting on her rear end, wiped some dirt from her eyes and crawled forward towards a fainted Bonnie, placing a hand on her neck, and then returned her. Well, so much for eating at the Restaurant - she needed a Pokemon Center. Looking around for the nearest, she spotted something lying in the dirt.

A jewel embroidered purse.

Oh, it was almost too good to be true. Skeptical, Hannah stood and walked over to the parcel and picked it up, immediately looking inside. There were no Pokeballs are immensely personal things like ID inside, just a white leather wallet. Hannah frowned at this, picking the wallet out with a disgusted look (oh, that poor Miltank) and opened it. Several bills, all adding up to 3000 AD. Elated, Hannah let out an overjoyed yip, shoving the wallet back in the purse.

"You just paid for my dinner tonight!" She shouted in the direction the two had vanished. Still with a triumphant grin, the girl slung the purse over her shoulder and ran, not walked, to the Pokemon Center just down the block.

20 minutes later, at the Brevis Village Pokemon Center;

"Here you go, young lady. They weren't hurt too badly. Your Sandslash had one small cut on her back. Your Sawsbuck was fine except for a few minor bruises on her shoulders, and your Rapidash was just knocked out, but fine nonetheless."
Nurse Joy smiled, handing Hannah back her three Pokeballs and then turned back to her computer. Hannah, whom had just finished wiping her face clean, looked down at the purse (she had done her best to clean it as well). Noticing that Nurse Joy had her own purse sitting on the counter, which was a cheap imitation of the name brand purse the Lady owned, Hannah smiled to herself.

"Excuse me, Nurse Joy?" She asked, leaning over the counter and placing the pretty parcel on top.
"I have this old purse I'm looking to get rid of, and I noticed you had a similar one. You wouldn't be interested in a newer one, would you? Just to have a spare around?"

Hannah smiled the prettiest she could, and Nurse Joy seemed to comtemplate the offer. She lifted up the purse in question, inspecting it.
"Well, I do need a new- oh, this is a genuine! Oh my, it cost well over 200,000 AD! I can't afford this-"

"Oh, no, no, see, it's used! Sure, it's a nice genuine, but I got it for a good deal and am just looking to get rid of it. I would only be interested in 1000 AD, miss, just a fraction of what it really costs." Hannah assured her, at which point Nurse Joy looked back at the purse, inspected the jewels on the strap, and smiled.

"It's a deal!" The pink-haired woman beamed, quickly rummaging around in her own purse for the desired amount and handed it over to Hannah, who handed her the purse. Hannah, grinning, placed the money in the wallet with the rest of the money and put it into her own bedraggled purse along with her Pokeballs. With money in hand, the girl raced back to the Restaurant Le Micle.
