Nyra walked along the pretty lake, loving the change of scenery. She had hiked a while to get here but it was worth it.

Of course Asterisk was sitting on her shoulder, looking at the water with discust. Nyra looked over, "What's wrong? Scared of water, Ast?" she said, smirking.

Asterisk squirmed and whimpered, nodding his head. Nyra's eyes softened and she patted his head. Nyra turned to look at the water and squinted her eyes. She saw something with a shell dissipear under the water. "Was that a...no. That's impossible.." She said. "Those are extinct..and they live in the ocean. What bimbo would discover one of these and throw it in a lake?" She thought for a moment Umbra..

She turned around to see if anyone was near who might know about this, but she saw no one. Then she got a glint in her eyes. What if she caught it and brought it to Umbra? They'd surely reward her for this rare catc-

"Eee!" Squealed Asterisk as he lept off of Nyra's shoulder, narrowly missing a surge of water which hit Nyra in the face.

Nyra spluttered, coughing. "What the he-"

*Flashback (Tirtouga)*
(Setting in an Umbran lab*

Scientist: *holds needle and injects substance into a fossil* I think we're almost there, folks!

Scientist 2: I think you're right, Jim

*the fossil shakes and emnates a white light. The Scientists shield their eyes and the first scientist gets knocked over. The second one looks to see and angry looking Tirtouga on top of the first scientist, growling. The scientist walks over and tries to shoot a needle into the pokemon but it cries out and shoots a water gun at him. Three more scientists rush in and grab the pokemon and a perimetic takes out the first scientist. The scientists throw the pokemon into a cage. It growls and its eyes shoot daggers at the scientists*

Sciensist 3: What are we gonna do with it?

Scientist 2: *angry* Why should I care? It's wild, rabid, even.

Scientist 4: We should release it into the wild to let it calm down a little. It may just not like this setting. It'd be better than making it mad.

Scientist 2: It will always be mad at us, at humans. What's the point in letting it live?

Scientist 4: I don't know. But as you look so keen to get rid of it, let's release it instead of killing it and making the boss mad.

Scientist 2: Fine. I'll take it to the lake.

*The scientist takes the cage and shoots a sedative into the pokemon to calm it down, then goes into his car and drives to the lake, throwing the cage in, not caring what happened to the pokemon. Then he drove off. The Tirtouga woke up and panicked, trying to get out. He rammed against the cage but it was no use. He got madder and madder at the humans and after building up so much energy and hatred, finally used Bide and broke the cage open. And then he saw Nyra and the rage set in again.*

*flashback ended*

Another surge of water hit her and she heard a splash and looked over to see a Tirtouga glaring at her icily from the water. She gasped. She was right.

The Tirtouga filled its mouth with water again and hit her with another water gun. She tripped and fell. "Ahh! Asterisk!"

Asterisk shot his webby string at Nyra but it was too week and it broke. Nyra fell down and landed in the lake with a big splash. She struggled to push to the surface, lungs screaming for air. Then she was rammed into the side by what she could only guess was the Tirtouga.

She tried to scream but it was just a gargling noise and a lot of bubbles. She held up her hands in surrender but the sea turtle-like pokemon just glared at her. She struggled to get to the surface, to breath, but she was losing conciousness fast.

Right as the darkness was closing in her thin fingres wrapped around Bowser's poke'ball and he emerged into the water, confused. He took one look at Nyra and the Tirtouga and he knew what to do. He grabbed Nyra and pulled her to the surface, using water gun to push her back to land.

Nyra landed on the shore and rolled over, groaning and finally passing out. Asterisk ran over, concerned. Her breathing was ragged and Asterisk did the only thing he could think of. He jumped on her and tried to wake her up.

Nyra shot up, coughing violently. Water streamed past her lips and her lungs stung as they pulled in much needed air. "Thanks guys." She croaked out before slumping into a tree and looking at the water, terrified.

Bowser turned on the Tirtouga, his eyes hard and narrowed. "Squirt, Squirtle!" (How dare you do that to my trainer? You a$$!)

The Tirtouga said nothing and slammed into Bowser, using Rollout like he had continuously with Nyra. Bowser gritted his teeth and growled.

Bowser scratched the sea turtle pokemon accross the muzzle and it pulled back, growling. It tried to ram into Bowser again but he sidestepped and the pokemon ran into a rock. Bowser chuckled.

The Tirtouga was not happy. It shook its head and rushed for Bowser. He had a plan. He sidestepped again but crept towards the shore, so as to get it out of the water and have Asterisk as back up so Nyra could catch this annoying piece of crap.

The Tirtouga didn't suspect this, though, and rushed once more for the Squirtle. Bowser had long since mastered avoiding this and sidestepped a third time. The Tirtouga flew past and onto the shore, where Asterisk stepped in to help.

With Bowser still in the water and the Tirtouga out, they had an unfair advantage.

Nyra got up slowly and walked over to help. "Ok guys, let's do this." She said, regaining her voice. "Asterisk, constrict. Bowser, scratch!"

Asterisk used his webby material to wrap around the Tirtouga and squease painfully, constricting him. The Tirtouga struggled, but Asterisk kept him in place as Bowser scratched him repeatedly. The Tirtouga cried out and struggled. Nyra didn't even blink.

The Tirtouga growled and wrenched itsself out of Asterisks painful grasp after being squeased again painfully. It rammed itself into the small spider pokemon and Asterisk howled in pain. The Tirtouga's eyes were like daggers as it tried to get back to the water and dive out of sight.

Bowser blocked his path and shot a surge of bubbles at him popping painfully and making him backpeddle and growl in frustration. Asterisk shot a needle of poison at him and he winced, the poison now coursing through him.

Nyra smiled, "Good job boys."

The Tirtouga shut its eyes and tried to subdue the pain of the poison. It throbbed and a shot of agony shot through him. He fell to the ground.

Bowser took this oppertunity to use aqua jet and zoom through the water, leaping out and slamming into the Tirtouga. It wailed and turned on Bowser, but another wave of pain shot through him from the poison and he crumpled to the ground momentarilly.

Now was the time to capture it. Nyra grabbed a pokeball from her belt and threw it at the Tirtouga. It wiggled and bonced as if the Tirtouga was struggling, then it dinged and went silent as the Tirtouga surrendered finally.

Nyra sighed and pocketed the ball. "Finally"

She looked at her pokemon and smiled greatfully, pulling them into a hug then returning them. Then she turned and left the lake. She'd had enough of it to last her a lifetime.

Hmm, approved capture, but that was normally the length and difficulty of a much more common pokemon's capture. I'd say you should work on this pokemon a lot more: how did an extinct sea-dwelling pokemon end up in a lake? You touched on this a little but I think a bit more is needed for you to have fully earned a rare pokemon like this. ;)
