“Just keep following the riverbed, Bonnie, that way we can keep up with her!” Hannah had leaned forward as far as she could to shout into the running Rapidash’s ear, hands grasped firmly to either side of the mare’s neck. With the thunderous sound of the horse’s hooves coupled with the crackling of her mane and tail, it was understandably difficult to shout commands, but the Rapidash seemed to understand nonetheless and neighed a response. The two (three, considering how Shaymin was tuckered away in Hannah’s scarf, trying desperately not to fall out) had chosen a dry riverbed as their makeshift track, the otherwise flat and predictable surface a much more inviting course than the rocky ground surrounding them. Granted, there were a few instances were the horse had to launch herself over crevices and leap over rocks, but the horse’s dexterity was astounding.

Overhead, the reason for this speed was made clear as a purplish/orangish blur streaked just over the canopy, swerving to avoid the occasional tall tree that grew above the others. It was a race between Bonnie and Rose - and contrary to the norm, Bonnie seemed to be winning. The Dragonite, despite being well trained, hadn’t quite honed in her flying skills as much as she could have. So, the best way to do such a thing was to propose a race between herself and the other fastest Pokemon in Hannah’s party. Feeling her cap begin to rise, Hannah quickly clasped her hand on top of her head, simultaneously looking up to see how Rose was faring above. The next sequence of events happened too fast for her to properly respond; she heard Bonnie squeal before she could turn her head and, at the same moment, heard Rose cry out from above.

Less than a fraction of a second after the two cried out, Bonnie crashed into something, some unfortunate red blur that had decided to run across the riverbed at the wrong moment. The horse had been running so fast that she had been unable to stop; the collision was deafening. Instantly, Bonnie and Hannah were thrown up and over, crashing into the ground and skidding some distance away, as was the mysterious red Pokemon that had crossed their path. From the time she was sent into the air and some time after she had actually landed was entirely a blur. All Hannah could recall was the fear of being thrown at the speed they were running, fear of Shaymin and Bonnie’s wellbeing, and lastly the sensation of being lifted into the air. Much to her immense surprise, none of them had been hurt - it was then that she realized Shaymin had used Psychic and stopped them in midair, gently lowering them down to the ground. While that had probably prevented them all from being killed, it still hadn’t prevented Bonnie from being injured from such a high velocity impact.

Breathing heavily, Hannah sat up, turning her head to face Shaymin within her scarf, “Thank you, Shaymin. That’s the second time you’ve had to save me like this, isn’t it? Are you okay, Bonnie?”
She turned her attention the Rapidash now, whom was nickering softly in pain; the crash seemed to hurt her foot. Only then did she realize that Rose had also landed, having known the incident was going to happen the same moment that Bonnie did. The large Pokemon hummed concernedly, helping Hannah to her feet while simultaneously motioning to a lump in the midst of the dry riverbed; the Pokemon they had crashed into was a Charmeleon.
“It’s a Charmeleon, Rose, poor baby,” Hannah breathed, first checking to make sure the poor creature’s flame was still in fact. When she (thankfully) discovered it was still alive, she leaned in for a closer inspection, extending her hand to place it on the reptile’s shoulder. “You’re going to be fine, just ended up in the wrong place at the wrong time. Let me help you, Char-”

Char!” The Charmeleon whirled around before Hannah could finish the sentence, slapping the trainer’s hand away and slashing it in the process. Despite the fact that the reptile had a decent sized gash across it's forehead and horn, it was still snarling in indignation. Speaking of it's face, the creature was obviously female; her brow line was sleek and narrow, her eyes having a distinctively feminine almond shape about them. A small laceration on the top of her hand, Hannah reeled back in surprise, and Rose stepped forward, growling at the abrasive Pokemon.
"Don't hurt her, Rose, she's just as hurt as Bonnie is!" Hannah warned, holding out her arm to try and deter the Dragonite from advancing forward anymore. The intelligent Dragonite nodded, but continued to furrow her brows as she stepped backwards. It seemed she would drop the confrontation. Until, that is, the Charmeleon forced itself into a standing position and insisted upon a battle. Rose, in a turmoil, turned to look at Hannah.

"She's hurt, Rose, don't make it worse. Come on, Charmeleon, don't start a fight in this condition. We're not here to hurt you."
As if to prove Hannah wrong, the feisty female Pokemon dug her foot into the ground and cried out, breathing a torrent of flames into the air. After the display of power, the crimson Pokemon lunged for the Dragonite, using her claws as means of offense. Rose, remembering Hannah's previous command not to worsen the Charmeleon's wounds, extended her arms to brace herself, grimacing as the Flame Pokemon's claws tore at her thick hide. Hannah watched, mouth pursed as the Charmeleon drew back once more and whipped her tail around to whip Rose, the flame on the end glowing a bluish/white color. In this state of heightened aggression, the Charmeleon's tail had begun to shown hotter to reflect her inner turmoil. Instinctively, Rose flapped her wings and jumped backwards, hovering just above the ground and floating beyond the enraged Charmeleon's reach. The Charmeleon, falling forward with the failed strike, snarled and whipped around, eyeing Bonnie a few meters away. After all, she was the speeding bullet train that had plowed into her.

With a throaty growl, the reptilian Pokemon lunged for the injured Rapidash, only to suddenly be grabbed from behind by Rose. The otherwise strong Dragonite didn't have much of a problem holding the Charmeleon still; it was the flame on the tip of her tail that was problem. Gritting her teeth, Rose held the Charmeleon tighter while the rampaging creature kicked and snarled. The hope was to somehow hold it still until it calmed down some, but with the white hot tail flame of her's pressed into Rose's stomach, the Dragonite was having trouble holding on. After returning Bonnie for her own safety, Hannah hurried in front of Rose and the Charmeleon, trying desperately to dissuade the Pokemon from attacking.
"Charmeleon, I know you're upset, but we're not here to hurt you! We didn't mean to hurt you; if you come with us to the Pokemon Center, we can fix everything. Please calm own, Charmeleon, we're not going to battle you like this."

In response to this proposal, the enraged Charmeleon attempted to lunge forward, only to be held back by Rose. Much to Hannah's surprise, Shaymin suddenly wiggled out from her scarf, onto her shoulder, and hoped onto the portion of Rose's forearm right in front of the Charmeleon's face - far enough way to avoid being bitten, of course.
"Shaymin, shay. Min?" Whatever the little hedgehog said to the Charmeleon, the reptilian Pokemon stopped squirming. However, Rose didn't release her since she still had an indignant snarl on her face. Growling in response, the Charmeleon snapped at Shaymin, causing it to squeak in surprise. Furrowing it's grassy brows, Shaymin tried once more to speak to the Charmeleon, only to get the same response.
Watching, Hannah spoke softly, "Shaymin, what's it saying?"
"The Charmeleon says we are bad people, but I tell it we are not. She does not believe it. It says it will hurt us now." The Grass Pokemon said mentally. Responding to a nod from Hannah, Shaymin waddled forward, the blooms on its backside opening and glowing a faint pink color and releasing multiple spores. The Sweet Scent spores, landing on the Charmeleon's snout, and temporarily loosing her tough front, caused the reptile to sneeze.

While the Charmeleon tried to recover from the dizzying and nauseating smell, Shaymin waddled up close to the Pokemon's snout and kissed it. As surprised as the Charmeleon was, the Sweet Scent took its toll. Shaymin jumped onto Rose's shoulder and the Dragonite released the dizzied Charmeleon. At first, the Charmeleon lifted her claws as if to try and intimidate her foe, but ended up stumbling backwards and into a nearby tree. After awkwardly attempting to slash the tree, the thoroughly confounded Flame Pokemon stumbled through the bushes and was gone.
Hannah watched, arms crossed over her chest. "What a terrible temperament it had. Why do you think it thought we were bad people? It must not be used to humans... Come on, Rose, Shaymin. Let's get out of here and to the Pokemon Center before it comes back."
Rumbling in agreement, Rose kneeled down and allowed the trainer to clamber onto her back, and once Shaymin had tucked itself back into Hannah's scarf, took off.

"Well, your Rapidash is fine. She just chipped off a piece of her hoof - nothing a little glue can't fix for the meantime while it grows back. And you say it was a Charmeleon you ran into in the forest?" Nurse Joy leaned into the counter and gave the girl a skeptical look. Hannah could understand the woman's reluctance to believe her; Charmeleon weren't known to just run around forests, even if they were wild.
"I'm positive, Nurse Joy. It seemed so temperamental. Is it possible that it could have gotten lost somehow? I didn't think Charmeleon made habits out of living in forests." Hannah said, Shaymin poking its head out from her scarf and nodding as if to confirm her story.
"Well," The pink-haired woman started, rubbing her chin in thought. "that is weird. They do normally try and avoid places where they can cause fires unintentionally. Perhaps it came from the valley a few miles from the forest's edge. I've never heard of any Charmeleon there, but it seems likely. Maybe you could visit - I've heard rumors of some Gracidea blooms there. I'm sure you Rapidash would enjoy the open fields there as well."

"Shay!" Shaymin immediately chirped in excitement, prompting a small laugh from Hannah.
"Sounds perfect! How do we get there?" She asked.
"Hm, there's an old mining tunnel just south of here that leads right into the valley. I would be careful - it hasn't been used in years. Most people prefer to climb the mountain rather than risk the tunnel. Now that I think about it, it may not even be opened anymore." Nurse Joy pondered, but Hannah seemed to light up at the mention of a cave.
"A cave? Even greater! Sounds like fun. Thanks so much for your help, Nurse Joy!" Suddenly excited at the prospect of a cave to explore, Hannah hurried out of the Pokemon center, calling goodbye to the woman as she hurried out the door. After exiting the center, she hurriedly pulled out Honey's Pokeball and released the brute of a bear, talking a million miles an hour of what had occurred in the forest and their plan to explore the cave.

The entrance to the said cave was little more than a vertical crack in an out jutting of rock on the forest's edge that required quite a bit of Slashes from Honey to get through with the thick underbrush. Despite the difficulty in which it took to reach the entrance, Hannah's excitement only grew. This, of course, probably meant that no one had been inside the cave for quite some time. Grinning, Hannah took the first awkward step down into the cave, followed by Honey. Once inside, the light would be expectantly dimmer than outside. Not that the trainer was worried; her Shaymin companion seemed like a Swiss army knife with its abundance of abilities it possessed. Upon realizing the cave was going to be dark, Shaymin crawled onto Hannah's head and shook its grassy body. Then, like some sort of snap-activated glow stick, the hedgehog Pokemon used Flash and illuminated the cave.

"Yeah! Great job, Shaymin. Come on, Honey, I need a big strong Ursaring to lead the way."
Honey whined and lumbered forward, having to duck her head to avoid hitting the relatively low ceiling of the cave. It was obvious that the cave had, in fact, been man-made with the clean chisel marks on the ceiling and general lack of stalagmites or stalactites. Much to Hannah's dismay, there seemed to be a lack of Pokemon as well - wouldn't this be prime habitat for Zubat and Geodude? Casting the notion uncomfortably aside, Hannah and Honey persevered. About twenty minutes or so into their trek, Honey suddenly froze, nose lifted.
"What's up, Honey? What do you smell? There can't be anything to eat down here." Hannah furrowed her brows, squinting into the darkness in front of them as if to see what Honey was picking up. In response, Honey grumbled, pointing in front of them.

"She says it is the smell of human. Human smell and human metal poison."
"Human poison?" Hannah seemed confused for a moment, desperately trying to think of what Honey and Shaymin meant by human metal. Cars or machines, perhaps? If they were talking about cars or machines, then the poisonous smell accompanying them must have been gasoline of some sorts. But Honey must have been mistaken - how could she smell gasoline in this cave? Unless of course they were nearing the end, but even then, Nurse Joy hadn't mentioned a town being in the valley.
"Come on, Honey. Let's keep going, we've gone this far." Hannah placed a hand on the bear's shoulders, coaxing her forward. Nostrils still flared, Honey grunted and reluctantly walked forward, continuing onward. Ten minutes or so of walking, and Hannah caught a whiff of something that was unmistakable - gasoline. But where was it coming from?

Rounding a corner, the cave seemed to open up considerably. In the distance, there was a faint glow, as if there were lights ahead. Honey stopped once more, reluctant to approach whatever it was up ahead.
"Maybe they've started mining again." Hannah mused quietly, though it seemed unlikely when no other part of the cave was lit other than what was ahead. Then, a shrill cry rang out through the cave. Stiffing a cry of her own, Hannah grabbed Shaymin and nearly smothered it, too frightened to properly ask it to dim it's light. Of course, the Grass-type was smart enough to know this beforehand, and struggled against it's trainers near strangle hold even after it had extinguished it's light.
"Oh, Arceus, what was that?" She breathed, holding tight onto the hedgehog like a frightened child holding onto a stuffed animal. Honey started to moan in response, but suddenly growled, running past Hannah as if she had seen something. Without warning, a bright light whirled past Hannah and collided into Honey.

The bear cried out in surprise and was sent skidding across the cave floor with the attacker in tow. It didn't take long for Hannah to realize that the creature was a Charmeleon (the flame was a dead give a way), and the bleeding horn suggested it was the one from before. As the two brawled on the floor, Hannah called out in vain. Pursing her lips, the girl sat Shaymin aside and shot towards the two, barreling into the Charmeleon. Both the girl and reptilian Pokemon went tumbling, at which point Hannah would try her hardest to hold onto the thing's shoulders while avoiding her tail.
"Don't you dare hurt my Honey! We tried to help you, you ungrateful bully!" For a moment, Hannah's scolding and roughness seemed to surprise the Charmeleon long enough for it to stop struggling. After all, it probably wasn't every day a human tackled her and proceeded to scold her. Shaking off the confusion, the Charmeleon threw her shoulders back and whirled around, throwing Hannah off. Growling, the Flame Pokemon lifted her claws and started towards the trainer, but was sent flying by one swat of Honey's paw.

While Hannah's tackle hadn't done much other than confuse the Charmeleon, it had given Honey time to retaliate. With her paw being the size of the Charmeleon's head, the unfortunate lizard slammed into the nearby cave wall - and hard. The impact itself caused the chamber to vibrate some, dust temporarily filling the air. Meanwhile, Hannah rubbed the back of her head and sat up, extending her hand to Shaymin to allow it to clamber back onto her shoulders. Once the hedgehog had snuggled safely into her scarf, the dark-haired girl pushed herself into a standing position. The Charmeleon, obviously hurt, was sitting limp against the cave wall, but was eying Honey angrily.
"Shaymin, can you please translate this to the Charmeleon: We're not going to fight you. As for what happened before, I'm sorry. We haven't done anything intentionally hurt you."
Before Shaymin could even begin to translate, the Charmeleon growled a response, smoke rolling from her nostrils.

"The Charmeleon says that it understands you. It says you lie, trainer. The Charmeleon says that even if we hurt it, we will pay." Shaymin crawled cautiously onto Hannah's shoulder, looking from the girl to the Charmeleon.
"We lie? How-? We haven't done anything to you, Charmeleon, and we're certainly not going to hurt you! Is there someone hurting you?" Hannah, in a somewhat foolish move, kneeled down and leaned closer to the Charmeleon. The Flame Pokemon growled in response, but Hannah continued to speak, "I'm not afraid of you, you know, but I'm not going to let you hurt my Pokemon when we're just trying to help you. Now tell me; is someone hurting you?"
Charmeleon eyed Hannah, brows furrowed, for what seemed like an eternity. Finally, the creature stirred and stood (prompting a bit of a protective step forward from Honey since she fully expected it to attack), but it refrained. It lifted a claw and gestured further down the cave, and began a spiel of 'chars' that only Shaymin and Honey understood.

"The Charmeleon says she will believe you now, but if you lie, we will be hurt. She also has requested that we follow her to the bad people. We must be quiet, it says."
Hannah raised a brow, but nodded, "Thank you, Shaymin. Lead the way, Charmeleon."

It became clear the further they trekked the cave that something was certainly happening ahead; the sound of heavy machinery and human voices could plainly be heard well before the bunch actually could see what was going on. Charmeleon stopped just before reaching the main cavern, peering around a corner where most of the action was happening. Around the corner, the cavern opened up tremendously into a wide cave mouth that, evidently, led into the aforementioned valley. Several trucks, like the ones used to carry Tauros from one farm to another, lined the inside of the cave mouth, where many Charmander and Charmeleon were being ushered into the backs by large groups of young men and woman. Hannah immediately recognized them as Umbran Grunts. Clenching her fists, she cursed under her breath, watching as the Fire-type Pokemon were herded into the truck.

"What are they doing, Charmeleon?" She whispered, eyes wide. In response, Charmeleon pointed to her horn and made a 'cut throat' motion with her claw, which evidently meant that it had something to do with their horns.
"Your horn? What could they possibly want with horns-" Before Hannah could finish the sentence, the groups attention was centered on what was happening further down when a cry rang out through the cave. The group of men was attempting to wrangle a rather fiesty Charmeleon into one of the trucks, but the creature was fighting hard enough to deter most of the wranglers.
"Cut it's fire sac," One of the men was heard saying. What happened next seemed like a blur; as the Charmeleon was attempting a Flamethrower, the men suddenly held it's head forward, one of the brutes taking a knife and plunging it into a precise spot in the creature's neck. Instantly, the Flamethrower stopped, and the Charmeleon cried out in pain. This was the exact moment the Charmeleon with Hannah and company lost all composure and cried out as well, bursting from their hiding spot to defend its brethren.

"No!" Hannah cried, also running from the safety of their hiding spot in order to chase the Charmeleon.
After shoving the unruly Pokemon into the back of the truck, the group of men were met by a barrage of flames from Charmeleon.
"What the hell! There's an intruder! Grab the Charmeleon and get the full trucks out of here!" The men went into action, jumping into their respective trucks and filed out of the cave with their catch. The remaining truck's driver tossed a handful of Pokeballs out onto the field, releasing a Carnivine, a Tangela, and Tentacruel.
"Tentacruel, Wrap that Charmeleon! Tengela, use your Stun Spore to put it down and then throw it in the truck! Carnivine, take care of that trainer!"
All three Pokemon responded by leaping into action, the Tentacruel managing to snatch the Fire-type up with relative ease, even using one of its tentacles to wrap it's snout shut. Once the Charmeleon was restrained, the Tangela waved it's many vines, releasing a cloud of yellow-ish spores into the creature's face. With a smirk, the truck driver motioned for the two to load the catch into the truck.

Hannah was easily snatched off her feet by the Carnivine, whom had latched onto her ankle and held her upside down. Poor Shaymin toppled out of her scarf and then latched onto the skirt of her dress with its teeth, trying desperately to hang on. One hand reaching for Shaymin and the other holding her dress up, Hannah called out to something the truck driver seemed to have missed: "Honey!"
Finally emerging from their previous hiding spot, the gargantuan bear took the Carnivine by surprise, at which point it immediately dropped Hannah and Shaymin on their heads. Like a giant protective hound, the bear barreled into the Carnivine, locked her teeth around the plant's (neck?) and proceeded to sling the unfortunate weed.
"Honey, get Charmeleon!" Hannah called, now that the Carnivine was out of the picture. Grunting a response, the bear started towards the truck driver and his two Pokemon.
"Hell no! Put it down, Tentacruel, we have enough! Return, Carnivine, Tentacruel!" The Umbran backpedaled and jumped into the cab of the truck, followed by his Tangela. As he proceeded to speed off, he tossed something out the window.

Hannah skidded to a halt at the Charmeleon's side and dropped to her knees, desperately shaking the Charmeleon's shoulders to try and wake it up. "Come on, Charmeleon, wake up!"
Straining a growl, the Flame Pokemon began to stir, then suddenly shot up when it remembered what had happened. Before it had the chance to run off, Hannah grabbed her shoulder. "You can't just run away like that! Listen, we have to follow those trucks and find out where the Charmander and Charmeleon are headed, but you have to keep your composure. Understand?"
For a moment, it looked as if the Charmeleon were slowly getting more frustrated, but then it released a deep breath and nodded, understanding the importance of stealth. At that moment, Honey pawed up beside them, dropping something at Hannah's side and prodded her as if it were important.
"What, Honey?" Hannah turned around, and then instantly screamed, "No, Honey-! That's dynamite!"

All three of Hannah, Shaymin and Charmeleon started to scream (a bit comically) as Hannah kicked the burning stick away and scrambled away. Finally smelling the burning fuse and putting two and two together, Honey cried out as well and followed the group, whom ducked for cover behind an out cropping of rocks. As would be expected, the explosion was tremendous. So much so, the entirety of the cave vibrated, a gargantuan hole being blown out from the cavern's ceiling and causing it to collapse. After the rumbling subsided, the dust-covered group emerged from their hiding place, dizzied from the noise. While there had been a cave in, it had been minor, leaving just enough room atop a small mountain of rocks for them to squeeze out.
"Char!" The Charmeleon growled, swatting Honey as if scolding her stupidity to which Honey swatted her back, even though the Charmeleon's anger completely was justified.

"Stop it, you two! At least the cave isn't closed.. Come on, let's get out before it does. Honey, don't touch anything else." Hannah scolded between coughs, directing the group out of the cave. Growling, Charmeleon glared one last time as the bear before the group began their ascent up the small mound of boulders, squeezing out one by one before reaching the outside. Nurse Joy had been correct; the valley was beautiful, save for the fact a major Pokemon smuggling operation was being conducted in its midst. As Hannah clambered down the last boulder, she was actually a bit surprised when the Charmeleon offered her its hand/claws as a balance.

"... Thank you," She said, almost unsure of the Charmeleon's intentions. After Hannah was on her feet on the ground, the Charmeleon huffed a small response and continued onward. Suppressing a smile at the Flame Pokemon's change of attitude, Hannah turned to see how Honey was faring with scaling the rocks, only to see the massive bear tumbling down and land on her fluffy tail.
"Being in the downhill side of you wasn't a very good idea. Can you smell the gasoline, Honey? We need to see where they're taking those Pokemon." Hannah said softly, fixing the Ursaring's bow and simultaneously giving her a small kiss on the nose. Honey growled and returned the kiss by licking Hannah across the face (and catching a bit of Shaymin in the process), then proceeded to sniff the ground, immediately picking up the scent and trailing it.

Charmeleon watched the display of affection between the two with an unreadable expression and seemed to snap back into reality only when Honey grunted her confirmation that she had picked up the trail. Huffing, the Flame Pokemon trailed behind the trainer and Ursaring, keen eyes scanning the nearby fields for any sign of life. True to the nature of wild Pokemon, it would seem the presence of vehicles had frightened any Pokemon in the area. The small group walked for at least an hour or so, easily being able to tell where the trucks had crushed the tall grass in the meadows. If no grass was present, Honey easily picked up the trail. The trail led to a small dirt road that immediately turned onto another, where, under the cover of underbrush, the group saw a small encampment of makeshift tents, all adjacent to one permanent metal structure. As Charmeleon watched one of the trucks begin to unload the Charmander, she started to growl and move forward, only to be stopped by Hannah.

"You know what happened last time, Charmeleon. We need to think of way to get inside and free those Pokemon. Hm," Hannah paused, then pointed to a lone Umbran grunt guarding the far end of the encampment out of view of the others. The girl was about the same size as Hannah.
Silently nodding her head towards the girl, Hannah relayed her plan to Charmeleon using hand movements, which the Flame Pokemon seemed to understand. Of course, the plan had to be said a bit simpler to Honey, but the Ursaring seemed to understand when whispered to. With everyone informed, Hannah shooed Honey onward, "Go, go, Honey. You know what you're supposed to do."
Moaning, Honey crawled through the underbrush (blending in surprisingly well with her blonde color, since the brush was mostly dead), and suddenly popped up nearest the lone grunt. Reminiscent of a wild Ursaring, she growled a warning - but there was something different about this growl. It was a little... wider than most, almost like a yawn. Speaking of, the cloud of gas that was produced from the Yawn attack blew into the girl's face.
"Oh Arceus, an Ursaring! Some-! oh... Some one..." When the grunt took a step forward, she suddenly stopped, wobbled to and fro, and then collapsed on the ground, snoring.

"Ugh, Umbran chic. Talk about tacky. How do I look?" Hannah adjusted the silver-colored hat that came with the uniform and then outstretched her arms as if she were modeling for the three Pokemon. Fortunately for the Umbran Grunt she whose clothes she had taken, the girl had been wearing a series of undershirts, otherwise Hannah would have felt somewhat bad for taking her uniform. Charmeleon flared its nostrils and proceeded to drag the unconscious girl into the nearby brush, while Hannah pulled her backpack (with her own clothes) onto Honey's shoulders for safe keeping while the bear was inside of her Pokeball.
"I'm sorry, Honey, but you'll attract too much attention. I'll be sure to call you back out when I need you." With that said, Hannah returned the over sized Ursaring to her Pokeball, placed Shaymin underneath her hat, and then looked around for any way to smuggle Charmeleon and herself into the building. Seeing that individual grunts were each dragging unconscious Charmeleon and Charmander into the complex, Hannah decided to follow suit.

"Charmeleon, you're not going to like this, but I need you pretend to faint like the others. You shouldn't weigh that much." Hannah said, simultaneously picking up a length of rope from the ground and tying it loosely around the Pokemon's snout and arms. Once the rope was in place, Hannah placed her arms under Charmeleon's and the Flame Pokemon went limp, feigning unconsciousness. Since the Flame Pokemon was little more than Hannah's own weight, it didn't take much of an effort to drag the creature into the hideout where other Umbran grunts were doing the same. Simply following a grunt whom was carrying a Charmander on his shoulder, the two entered the center of the metal building at the center of the encampment. There, the boy approached a large central holding pin, tossed his Charmander onto the heap of other Pokemon, and then approached Hannah.
"Need help with that Charmeleon?" He asked, startling the imposter and causing her to whirl around.
"No!" She answered, panicky at first, but then realized the boy had accepted her disguise. "I mean, of course not! Does it look like I need any damn help? Get out of my way."

"Whatever. That's the last one, right? When you put it in, lock the cage and turn on the electric fence and then report back to station #9 for further instructions." With that said, the grunt left the holding area, at which point Hannah immediately released Charmeleon and started to pull her (albeit loose) binds.
"We need to do this quickly. Shaymin, can you use Worry Seed to wake these Pokemon up?" Hannah removed the cap, revealing the miniature Grass-type. With a small affirmative 'shay', Shaymin released several large, green spores that created a green film of energy over the pile of unconscious Charmander and Charmeleon. Within a matter of seconds, the Pokemon began to stir, blinking in confusion.
"Great! Now we just need to think of a way to get them out of here. But how?" Looking around desperately, it seemed the only plausible way of allowing Charmeleon to escape with the others was to sneak them out while the majority of the Umbrans were meeting. "Looks like we're just going to have to leave the way we came... Charmeleon, tell them all to be quiet and direct them this way."
Motioning for the group of Pokemon to follow, the girl led the way, retracing the steps she had taken to enter the holding area. Pausing at a corridor to make sure no guards were present, Hannah and Charmeleon coaxed the group of Pokemon onward and out of the building.

Once outside, the hardest part would be somehow avoiding the sentinels. Deciding to let the Charmander and Charmeleon escape in groups of five at a time when the guard's backs were turned, Hannah shooed the first party onward. Despite having to literally run within ten yards of a guard's backside, the first group of Pokemon were successful, disappearing into the underbrush and out of sight. Five more groups followed the first one, all managing to escape without the sentinel's detection. All that remained were Hannah, Charmeleon, and three Charmander.
While Hannah was scouting to determine the best time to run, one of the juvenile Charmander ran before it was told, and the others followed in tow, catching the eye of the guard with their reckless bolts.
"Hey!" The man yelled, targeting Hannah. "What the hell are you doing? Intruder, intruder! The Pokemon are escaping!"
Hannah, knowing they needed to bolt, pushed Charmeleon into following the Charmander, "Go! Just go!"
The two took of running, and for a moment, it almost seemed as if they could actually outrun the guard. Until, that is, something caught Hannah's ankle and caused the girl to come down hard, hitting her jaw on the ground and immediately busting her lip.

Charmeleon instinctively skidded to a halt upon seeing Hannah fall victim to a ankle trap one of the pursuing guards had thrown, but the trainer growled, waving her hand frantically for her to run. In a desperate move, the girl reached under her hat, plucked Shaymin out, and tossed the poor little hedgehog clear across the clearing. Fortunately for it, it curled into a protective ball, and rolled, unharmed, to Charmeleon's foot.
"What are you doing, Charmeleon? Run! Take Shaymin!" Hannah yelled.
With obvious reluctance, Charmeleon reached down and retrieved Shaymin, and then took off after the others. Seconds later, a couple grunts rushed past, carrying nets to retrieve the fleeing Pokemon. Clenching her teeth, Hannah rolled into a sitting position and used her free hand to reach into her belt, selecting Honey's ball and releasing the gargantuan Ursaring. "Honey, make sure the Pokemon get away! Stop those two! Use Earthquake!"
With a rumble, Honey slammed her right front foot onto the ground, using Earthquake. As the ground shook and folded, the two grunts chasing the Charmeleon and Charmander was immediately tripped up and sent flying, their feet sinking into the liquifying ground immediately after landing. Roaring and deterring a couple of men whom had been approaching her with a rope to subdue her, Honey turned towards the trucks and stomped another paw on the ground, causing yet another detrimental earthquake.

The trucks sank into the fissures or were torn in pieces by slabs of earth folding up and tossing them. Before the Umbrans could could throw their nets over Honey, Hannah tossed her Pokeball and returned the bear Pokemon. She knew they would most likely take her Pokeballs, but she would much rather Honey be safe inside rather than hog tied and treated the way the Charmander were. As would be expected, as soon as the rumbling had stopped, a rather large man approached her and picked her up by her collar.
"I recognize you and that Ursaring from the cave. Guess my dynamite didn't do what I had hoped. Rest assured, you and your Pokemon are going to pay for interfering with our business, but you better pray to Arceus that we catch those Pokemon again. Otherwise, by the time we've finished with you, you're going to be begging us to kill you. In the meantime, you're just going to wait in the holding pen."

Swinging his arm, he tossed the girl onto the ground onto the feet of two awaiting grunts who immediately each took one of her arms and began to drag her off into the same building she had just escaped from. The two drug her to the (now empty) holding pin that the Charmeleon and Charmander had previously been locked in and slammed the door, but not before ripping her belt off with her Pokeballs and tossing them onto the floor, out of reach. The two would then exit the room, at which point Hannah would sit up and try to remove the ankle restraints, murmuring something to herself about 'damn Umbrans'. After a few minutes of straining and contorting into awkward positions, she finally managed to kick the restraints off. But what was she supposed to do now? It wasn't like she climb out of an electrified holding cell.
Clearly frustrated, she throw the restraints at the cell wall, "I swear, I'm going to make it a personal goal of mine to put every Umbran out of business when I get out."

It seemed like an eternity waiting in the confines of the cell before the man from before entered the room. It was only now that Hannah got a good look at him; his uniform was noticeably different than the grunts, which must have meant he was some sort of administrative personnel. Either way, Hannah noticeably scowled when he entered the picked up her belt, swinging it around his index finger.
"Oh, Elite Four?" He commented, noticing her necklace and pendant she'd wrapped around the belt for safe keeping. "I always knew the Pokemon League was going to shit. Thanks to your teddy bear, we can't move the trucks to search for the Pokemon. Which means we're going have to supplement our loses somehow; how much do you think an blonde Ursaring would go for? Or, rather, it's pelt when skinned and made into a rug?"
Hannah had been keeping her cool, but upon hearing him threaten Honey, scrambled into a standing position, "Don't you dare threaten her! You and all the other cowards here and going to get your's someday! I'll be sure of i-" She was cut off by her own shout of pain; in her anger, she had gotten to close to the electrified fence. The shock alone caused her to fell backwards in pain, instinctively holding her hand. This, of course, would prove to be hilarious to the aforementioned man.
"As you were saying?" He mocked, simultaneously pulling a Pokeball from the belt in his hand. "Pokemon connected with any member of the Pokemon League fetches a pretty penny on the black market, even if it belonged to some head strong kid like yourself. I have to admit, you may have made us more money than those Charmeleon horns could have-"

A sudden explosion at the door behind him caused the man to stumble forward, dropping the belt and Pokeball.
"What the hell?" He spun around, the sound of screams and frantic cries from outside prompting him to approach the door. Even from Hannah's place in the cell, she could see the unmistakable gleam of fire outside the door. Another explosion rocked the encampment just before a voice cried out, "They're burning the trucks! Quick, the gas tanks- Ah!"
The admin, evidently seeing something outside the door, hurriedly pulled down to try and secure the lock on the door. The instant his hand touched the lock, the door burst open, sending him tumbling backwards. Midst the smoke and flames of the burning hallway outside, the female Charmeleon from before, brandished her claws.
"Charmeleon!" Hannah exclaimed, waving frantically. Growling a 'Char!', the Flame Pokemon hurried forward and towards the holding cell. However, the Umbran Admin forced himself into a standing position, standing between Hannah and the cell, a pokeball in hand.
"Tentacruel, kill this thing!" He shouted, releasing the Jellyfish Pokemon.

Rather than immediately brace for attack, Charmeleon darted around the opponent, reaching behind her and retrieving something that had evidently been clinging to the broad of her tail - Shaymin. In a single toss, she threw the balled up Grass-type up and over the fence of the holding cell and into Hannah's awaiting arms.
"Shaymin! You're okay!" Hannah coed, holding the hedgehog-like creature close. Realizing she needed to be out of the cell to properly assist the Charmeleon, Hannah placed Shaymin onto the ground, pointing at the lock. "I need you to help me, Shaymin. I've seen you use Energy Ball before - can you use it on that lock? We need to help Charmeleon."
"Min!" Shaymin furrowed its brows and concentrated, forming a small ball of green energy in front of its mouth. It fired the Energy Ball at the lock, but the thing didn't seem to budge. In response to a nod from Hannah, Shaymin charged another one.
Meanwhile, Charmeleon was in the midst of the Tentacruel's BubbleBeam. She shielded her face as much as she could with her forearm, clenching her jaws in pain as the numerous bubbles exploded over the length of her body.
"Now Tentacruel," The admin shouted confidently, "crush it to death with Constrict!"

Seemingly from out of no where, multiple tentacles would sprout from the underside of the Jellyfish Pokemon's body, making them near impossible to count. Like a series of ropes, the tentacles would wrap around Charmeleon's body and wrap it in a poisonous net. After pulling the Flame Pokemon closer, Tentacruel began to inject poison into Charmeleon's skin. Unable to breathe, it was impossible for Charmeleon to cry out in pain. Just as the Tentacruel narrowed its eyes and prepared to further tighten it's hold on Charmeleon, the reptile managed to cry out. It started out as the usual gruff 'Char!' but seemed to intensify into a deep roar. The entirety of her body began to glow, much to the Tentacruel's dismay - as would be expected, her body stretched and grew and the Jellyfish struggled to keep its hold on the growing creature. When the light faded, the newly evolved Charzard let out a guttural roar and spread her wings, stretching the Tentacruel's tentacles to the point of it having to let go. Once freed, the newly evolved Charizard would brandish it's sheer size and power with a roar.
Previously deep blue, Charizard's irises suddenly flashed white, the flame on her tail glowing to a humongous size. Tentacruel seemed to realize it was in trouble and beckpedled, but Charizard's Dragon Rage hit it dead on. The tremendous ball of white energy exploded upon impact, causing a blinding light sent the Jellyfish Pokemon flying back into the wall. Dust and debris filled the air, causing the room to temporarily become dark.

Once the dust cleared, the man's Tentacruel was collapsed in a heap by the wall. Unfortunately, so was Charizard, having put all her energy into the Dragon Rage attack. Spluttering, the Umbran man grinned to himself, a Pokeball in hand. "I just may have to capture you myself-" As he lifted his hand to throw the Pokeball, the same ankle trap he'd thrown and captured Hannah with suddenly wrapped itself around his hand, causing him to drop the Pokeball.
"Actually, you won't." Hannah grinned, quite proud of her aim. While Charizard had been battling the Tentacruel, Shaymin had finally managed to break the lock open, giving Hannah the opportunity to retrieve her Pokeballs and use the man's contraption against him.
Fumbling with the contraption around his wrist, the man scowled, "You and everyone of your Pokemon are going to be sorry about this. I'm not finished with you just yet. Tentacruel!" Much to Hannah's surprise, the Jellyfish Pokemon opened its eyes, somewhat recovering from the previously devastating hit. The massive Pokemon pushed itself up and into a standing position, but its many tentacles, weakened as they were, seemed to be faltering beneath its weight.

"Honey, finish what we started! Go!" The girl retaliated by throwing Honey's ball out in front of her, releasing the bear (whom actually still had the backpack on her shoulders). Once the bear had been released, she needed little instruction on what to do; being her signature and most destructive move, she immediately used Earthquake by literally jumping forward and landing heavily on all fours. The shock wave, concentrated on the man and his Tentacruel was tremendous. Since the building's infrastructure had already been reasonably damaged due to the fire raging outside, the liquifying and quaking ground did little to quell the damage. Almost immediately, part of the ceiling began to cave in. Hannah hadn't seen what became of the Umbran nor his Tentacruel; when the ceiling caved in, dust and debris filled the room, obscuring her view. The debris had fallen between them (or on top of the man?), giving her the opportunity to reach Charizard.
"Charizard! We need to get out of here! Wake up!" Hannah shook the massive Pokemon's shoulder frantically, but to no avail. Panicking (and feeling the immense heat baring down on her), she rushed her backpack on Honey and pulled out an empty Pokeball.

"I promise this is only temporary." She murmured quietly before throwing the ball and capturing the unconscious Pokemon. Charizard's Pokeball in hand, she motioned for Honey to follow her, and the three (counting Shaymin, who was screaming in fear upon the sight of flames) proceeded to escape the burning compound.

"Do you just have an unfortunate knack for getting into trouble, or are you the most reckless person on this earth?" Nurse Joy took Charizard's Pokeball and regarded Hannah, having been slightly frightened at first upon seeing that the girl was wearing an Umbran uniform. No longer scowling, she seemed to accept Hannah's long winded explanation for the uniform, but she still wasn't amused that this was the second time she had been there that day (never mind the fact she just saved the lives of countless Charmander and Charmeleon; that part of the story Joy seemed to overlook). Handing the ball over to an awaiting Chansey, she spoke once more, "After your Charizard is rested up, do you want it back in its-"
"Oh, no, no, that's not my Charizard! I just wasn't sure how to get her here otherwise." Hannah insisted quickly, clearly anxious that Charizard wouldn't appreciate being captured upon her awakening.
"Well... whatever the case, Chansey says that it will have to rest for a few hours. You don't look so hot either, why not wait here while Charizard is resting? Although I do have to ask that you restrain your Ursaring from pulling the cover off the drink machine." Nurse Joy disappeared into the back with her Chansey and left Hannah to scold the aforementioned bear from destroying the Pokemon Center's drink machine.

As the hours passed (and after changing out of that horrible uniform), the impatient girl migrated from chair to chair, only managing to rest for a few minutes or so before her restlessness got the better of her. The afternoon faded into dusk and night descended over the Pokemon Center, making it clear that Nurse Joy wasn’t going to release Charizard until the following morning. How could she possibly sit still or try and sleep with so much anticipation? After all, what if she were asleep when Charizard was released and she left without telling her goodbye? Hannah had to at least say thank you to the Flame Pokemon for returning to save her and her Pokemon. Determined to be awake when Charizard was released, Hannah lie awake while the remainder of her team (minus Cher and Bonnie; unfortunately for them, releasing a Milotic or Rapidash inside of a building was generally frowned upon) sleep peacefully around her. Despite her best efforts, she eventually succumbed to debility and finally fell asleep, only waking up when the sunlight streaming in through the Pokemon Center's large windows shown in her face.
"I overslept!" Hannah jumped up, not even stopping to actually check and see what time it was. After looking at the counter and not seeing Nurse Joy there, she spotted the pink-haired woman outside.
"Nurse Joy!" She hurried out the glass doors, at which point the woman immediately began to try and calm her.

"Calm down! Charizard just went for some air; in fact, there she is now."
Right on que, the massive reptillian Pokemon landed just behind Hannah with a thud, wings stirring up dust. Contented with the two reunited, Nurse Joy and her Chansey re-entered the Pokemon Center, leaving Hannah to throw her arms around Charizard's torso in a tight embrace.
"I'm so glad you're okay!" The girl cooed, to which the Charizard hummed affectionately. Despite the affectionate sound, Charizard flapped her wings and jumped backwards, something in her hands. In a fluid motion, she tossed the object to Hannah; it was her Pokeball. Bashfully, the trainer caught the ball and smiled on the side of her mouth, not sure how Charizard felt about being captured before. As Hannah opened her mouth to apologize, Charizard raised her claw and growled something. She then stepped backwards and spread her wings, a determined glint in her eye.
Before Hannah even had the chance to ask, Shaymin popped its head out and offered its translation. "The Charizard says to not apologize for your actions; it says that it would like to join us. It also says that it never finished its battle with the Dragonite."
"Huh? Well alright then!" Hannah exclaimed, grinning. "Hear that, Rose? Charizard wants a rematch!"
The Dragonite (she had been out of her ball with the remainder of the team) huffed in response, flapping her own, considerably smaller wings.
"Alright, first one on the ground is the loser. Ready, Rose? Start off with Thunder Punch!"
Rose cried out in response and pushed off the ground, hovering about a foot or so in the air before rushing forward, fist outstretched as electricity flickered around her claws. Charizard tensed, pushing her shoulders forward as if to brace herself for the impact. At the last second, she shot up, jumping up and over the Dragonite. As Rose flew under her, Charizard lashed out with her extended claws, catching the other Pokemon on the back of her neck.

Rose cried out in pain and did a mid air barrel roll before shooting up, utilizing the flying techniques she had been learning before this whole ordeal started.
"Use Twister, Rose, then charge it up with Thunder!" Hannah shouted.
The Dragonite made a loud 'whopping' noise in response (or whatever it is that Dragonite do) and began spinning, at the exact moment that Charizard grabbed a hold of her neck to try and slam her into the ground. Resisting being pulled down, Rose started to spin with Charizard. Once the two were nothing but an orange blur, Rose straightened the two antennae on her head and unleashed a powerful Thunder attack, one that engulfed both of them and the Twister. From the ground, the two Pokemon looked like nothing more than an electric tornado and the faint and momentary blur of flame from Charizard's tail.
"Now, Rose, Slam!" Came the command. While it didn't look like much was happening within the electric tornado, it suddenly angled downward, the two Pokemon visible through the crackling electricity. Rose shifted her position to just above the Charizard and angled them into a headlong dive - just as they were about a meter or so away from the ground, Rose kicked off of Charizard's torso with her back legs, propelling the Flame Pokemon into the ground while she flew back up.

It was a brutal impact, stirring up a cloud of dust when the Pokemon hit the ground. Hannah started forward, but paused when she noticed Charizard stir. Growling, she sat up, eyeing the Dragonite hovering above with a bit of a hostile look. After a second, the look faded and it was clear Charizard realized it had been downed fair and square. As it pushed itself a standing position, it was met with another embrace by Hannah.
Charizard growled, attempting to push Hannah gently away with one claw while Honey was busy playing with one of the glitter-filled balloons nearby. Before Hannah could even press another hug on the reluctant Pokemon, the balloon Honey was chewing on burst in a spray of glitter. When the glitter impairing her vision cleared, Hannah couldn't help but smile at the fact that Charizard's claws were outstretched, trying to catch the glitter with an enlightened look on her face.
"You're not so tough, are you? You're just as much of a girl as Honey." Hannah commented, motioning towards the bear... who was licking glitter off the ground. Charizard raised a 'brow', then looked back at Hannah, obviously implying that she was no where near as dumb as Honey.
"Alright," Hannah sighed. "Maybe not just like Honey, but you are the prettiest Charizard I've ever seen."
Upon hearing this, Charizard 'grinned' and flapped her wings, blowing smoke from her nostrils.
"You're more of a Charla than Charizard. So how about it, how does Charla sound?" Hannah laughed.
In response, the newly named Charla growled happily and unleashed a torrent of flames in Hannah's face, the aforementioned spray of flames easily reaching Honey, Rose, and Shaymin as well. While it was fire, it wasn't as hot as normal fire - it more like the hottest blow dryer ever, but still singed the fabric of Hannah's hat and Shaymin's grass nonetheless.

Eyes wide and with quivering hands, Hannah raised Charla's pokeball to officially capture her, "Err, Charla it is then. Ughh, welcome to the t-team, Charla."
The still smoking Charizard disappeared into the Pokeball while Hannah snuffed out a small piece of singed fur on Honey's ear.

I must be easily interested or something because I like this.
I approve the evolution, I approve a BP to Honey, and I approve the capture.
I don't know. I like stories and this was an interesting story from my standpoint. If another has something to say, then say so eventually. <<
Edit: Earthquake-happy bear. x3
