Nighttime. It was after a Teleport or two on Chase's part before the small group of three finally appeared on Mt. Stella. The Umbran didn't even spare a glance around before he released the remaining members of his team: Sylvn, Surya, Elina, and Adrastos. When the small group of Pokemon peered up at him in expectation, he gingerly removed Aiko from his head and revealed to the group the newest member: a little Bagon.

"This is Aiko," Yuki announced making each Pokemon, in turn, give the Bagon a greeting to the little hard headed Dragon. "She will be joining us on our... adventure, I suppose is the word, but we'll also have another soon enough. I still have one more egg to hatch, you understand."

The entire party, excluding little Aiko, nodded in unison while Aiko merely tried to hug Yuki. Without hesitation, the boy pulled the baby Dragon close, effectively allowing it to hug him, while he focused his attention on his team of five. "We're going to train."

The Pokemon each straightened in attentive eagerness as they awaited orders. What challenges would their spontaneous trainer give them tonight? "Surya and Sylvn will battle each other," everyone turned their attention to the Puppy and Cobra with evident shock visible in each of their eyes; "and both of you will be trying something new." At that, glowing yellow eyes glanced sharply at the Growlithe only to be greeted with a cheery wag of its tail. "You are my guard dog; you must learn to Protect, and Protect efficiently. Figure out how to do this on your own while also battling on your own."

Although the Puppy gave him a look with the mixture of surprise, Surya still nodded in affirmative while it tried to ponder what Protect would be like. Basic idea would be that it defended itself or its companions from the opponent's attack, but wouldn't Surya get hurt no matter what? While the Growlithe pondered this, its trainer placed full attention on Sylvn which mimicked Surya's wagging of the tail.

"Sylvn, you will be practicing Iron Tail as well as Poison Jab. Your current Poison attacks are too weak, and I need you to be strong for the team." Upon hearing these orders, Sylvn's dark eyes lit up, sort of, before darkening, again sort of, as he glanced over to the still deep in thought Surya. As if understanding what was on Sylvn's mind, Yuki reassured the Pokemon. "Don't worry, Sylvn, because Surya is capable. You've all been on the same time for a while now, so surely confidence can be aspired when considering one another?"

As yellow eyes moved from one Pokemon to the other, the Umbran was satisfied that each member of the team gave confirmation that there was no difficulty in trusting the others. Before anything else could be said, the boy tilted his head slightly as he heard something. It had been a long while since he last heard this alarm from his gloves, and he almost didn't recognize it. Blinking in mild curiosity, a brow clearly quirked, he lifted his right hand palm up and watched as an image formed before him.

The image was from the point of view of something that had a poor position for view. Occasionally whatever was blocking the view flapped away revealing the ground moving from beneath, a hip, and Dragonites that looked as if they were meant to carry people around. "...What." It was more of a statement than a question as he continued to watch what was happening; completely oblivious to the fact that all of his Pokemon were watching as well.

"This will take us to just outside of Conifer Town, where we can rest for the night." That was Xaviero's voice and, upon hearing it, Yuki found himself handing Aiko over to Chase so that he could free his left hand. "We are heading toward Conifer Town, if you would be so kind as to take us." Opening his left hand, he watched as information on the source of this image as well as its speakers popped up.

Sabia [Archen]
OT: Xaviero Adalfiere
Location: Soakatra's Prong

Well that made more sense. Because he had been distracted by the information provided by his left glove, he failed to hear Xaviero's following words as well notice that both the Italian and his assistant were in the basket, prepared to fly. When the scientist finally returned his attention to the image, he noticed that Amy was now leaning against Xaviero and, much to his extreme amusement, heard the girl mutter "G'night, Daddy."

Yuki stared at the image, his brain appeared to have stopped working, before clenching his fists and closing out of the programs. Head tilted slightly to the right, he slowly lowered himself to the ground and sat there, legs crossed, as he processed what he had just witnessed. As the concept clarified in his mind, his mask of apathy began slip off, and he suddenly found himself struggling to hold back laughter.

It took a bit before he managed to settle down and, by then, his emotionless self had returned. Taking a deep breath, he laid back and stared up at the stars which calmed him down immensely. All the while his party had nervously watched, not quite sure how to react. At length, Yuki realized that his Pokemon were still staring at him expectantly to which he frowned lightly. "Not training?"

That seemed to snap his Pokemon out of their shock for the group split up immediately. Everyone but Surya and Sylvn were resting with their trainer while they awaited for either the Cobra or the Puppy to make a move. As soon as Yuki snapped his fingers, the training began.

Right off the bat, Sylvn lunged forward before whipping his tail out from behind and attempting an Iron Tail. The only problem, however, was the fact he rarely, if ever, tried this attack. As he brought his tail down, it was noticed that there was no metallic gleam to it.

Surya, seeing how the Iron Tail was a fail at the moment, decided to counter using a Fire Spin. The fire danced around his own body, however, which activated his ability while effectively making the Spiked Cobra pull back the tail in order to avoid the flames.

"Good, Surya," Yuki commented causing the combatants to pause from what they were doing to give their full attention to their trainer. "Sylvn, that wasn't an Iron Tail. Surya, show him what it looks like using that tree there as your practice dummy. So saying, he offhandedly gestured to the nearby tree only for his Bagon to jump onto his arm and hang there for a few seconds. After those seconds, the baby Dragon lost her grip and fell only to be caught the same arm Yuki had used previously to point out the tree.

The Growlithe, meanwhile, distinguished his flames and moved into position to attack. With a low growl, the Puppy dashed forward only to leap into the air. While midair, his tail suddenly became slightly more heavy as it became steel; the Puppy did a front flip might flight towards the tree and slammed his tail against its unsuspecting trunk. As a result of the attack, the tree moaned while cracks appeared immediately before over half of the tree fell. Turning to see if Sylvn was watching, he was excited to see the determined gleam in his first friend's eyes.

Once the two were back in position, Yuki stared at the fallen tree a bit longer before reluctantly returning his attention to the battle that was waiting for his order to resume. "Continue."

This time, instead of going for the kill right off the bat, Sylvn rose to his full height and gave Surya a menacing Glare while swishing his tail to had effect. Disappointment became evident in his eyes, however, as his opponent easily evaded it by using Substitute. Still, the Cobra needed to continue fighting so it thought back to Surya's Iron Tail.

The beauty about Yuki's training sessions was that the Pokemon took turns on using attacks. Sylvn was free to think about his moves as long as he needed and no one would get irritated about the slowness because everyone, during training, took their time. It was just expected of them to be able to make decisions quickly in actual battles. Sounded fair enough.

Sylvn knew that it was the tail that would become metallic, hence the name of the attack and proven by the Growlithe, he just didn't know how to make it so. Peering over at the Substitute Surya had made, the thing sitting there calmly with Surya behind it clearly thinking about something, Sylvn imagined what it was like to have a tail made of steel. Concentrating hard on that image, there was a pleased note when he hissed because his tail had a faint white glow to it. It wasn't strong, but it was better than nothing.

Surya watched as his opponent speedily approached him. Now that the Arbok had managed a weak version of the Steel attack, it was the Growlithe's turn to choose an attack. The choice, however, had been obvious from the start: Protect. While his opponent had been trying to come up with an Iron Tail, Surya had been trying to come up with a Protect. Except Surya had never seen a Protect in use before so he had no idea what it was like.

The time for thinking was running out, unfortunately, and so the Puppy dropped to survival instinct and opened his maw; eyes glowing white. Fire immediately raced out of his opened mouth and formed a barrier around his Substitute clone as well as himself. The fire was a forcefield of sort, and it seemed to work when Sylvn slammed the pathetic Iron Tail down onto the barrier.

There was a screech of pain, most likely because of the fire, before Sylvn quickly slithered away from Surya. Once back in his original battle position, the Cobra lifted his tail to his mouth and gently blew on it. It appeared that the tail was burned.

"Interesting" The Umbran commented as he watched Sylvn try to quell the burn. Both Pokemon looked to him once more as he continued; "that was a unique Protect, Surya, and I'm proud. Sylvn, you have the basic of Iron Tail down, now try Poison Jab which will also involve your tail. Chase, use Recover on both of them so that they'll be at full health."

Surya beamed proudly at the second compliment and even yipped happily to Sylvn because even the snake had been praised. The two were grinning at one another, to the best of their abilities, in pride while they felt their energy returning to them. As soon as Chase announced that he was done, their trainer ordered for the battle to continue.

Once again it was Sylvn's turn, and so the Pokemon thought about how to go about the attack. The attack sounded simple enough, and poison was his specialty. With this in mind, the Pokemon lurched forward in a charge before swinging his tail forward and attempting to jab Surya.

Now that Surya had invented his own Protect, he was free to try something else out. "Surya, Dig. Upon hearing the sudden request, Surya looked briefly at the trainer before beginning to claw at the ground before him. Luckily he had practice with this attack from their time at the Ridley and so he disappeared underground while his Substitute took the hit only to disappear immediately after.

"Sylvn, when he returns, I want you to Poison Jab him. Secrete poison this time," Yuki commanded to which the Cobra nodded in acknowledgement of the orders. He watched as his second Pokemon from Aerei secreted dangerous venom from between the scales throughout its body only for most of the poison to gather on the tip of Sylvn's tail.

Surya suddenly made his appearance, a whole foot away from Sylvn, and lunged forward to attempt a Crunch on his spiky friend. This didn't go as planned, however, because Sylvn's tail was positioned coincidentally in the right position for a Poison Jab. Had Yuki informed the Pokemon that Surya was going to appear right there? That train of thought was distinguished, however, because Sylvn had struck out with Poison Jab landing a critical hit on the now poisoned Growlithe.

As Surya hit the ground, writhing in pain because of the invading poison, Sylvn suddenly hissed in pain because of the burn that was still on his tail. It was all fine and dandy that he had managed to land the attack, but it didn't help his poisoned scales had also touched Surya. And so the two writhed around, both frustrated with their pain, as they tried to block out the sources of their problems.

This stopped, however, because Yuki had plucked the Pokeballs of both Pokemon and sent the two Pokemon back into their capsules in beams of red light. To ensure that Surya wouldn't suffer from the poison while in his ball, the teen went so far as to send both devices into his PC.

That done, Yuki's eyes skimmed over his other Pokemon. "Chase and Elina, you two are up." A sadistic squeal of delight escaped his Sneasel as she sprinted forward to take the position Surya had previously been in while Chase simply Teleported into place. Yellow eyes glanced to the sky, absently noting that the moon was almost at its peak meaning it was around 11, before returning to the two that were ready to battle.

"Elina you will practice your Counter and learn to use Swords Dance. Chase, you will learn Drain Punch as well as Shadow Ball; starting with Shadow Ball."

Elina rubbed her claws together thoughtfully as she tried to figure out Swords Dance. Counter sounded easy enough, meant she needed to go second, and so she would try that one out later. She actually mimicked Yuki's tilting of the head as she continued to think about this. What did the attack even look like?

Chase, meanwhile, was thinking about Shadow Ball. He knew what this attack looked like, he had seen trainers use this attack on his brethren back at the clearing, but was he really capable of using it himself? Eyes closed, the Alakazam concentrated hard on recalling what he had seen other Pokemon do. Shadow Ball, every time, was an orb colored black and purple.

It was easily decided that he would be using his hands and spoons, he was definitely not going to mimic some of those Pokemon that created Shadow Balls from their mouths. The rest was, like Surya, instinct. He had experienced much during his time as an Abra, a Kadabra, and now as an Alakazam. Surely actually attempting an attack he knew well enough would be simple.

With this in mind, Chase crossed his spoons to form a black and purple ball before him. At first nothing happened besides the Alakazam closing his eyes to focus. Then, slowly, an energy began to form in front of his crossed spoons. Yeah, this didn't seem too hard.

Immediately after the Alakazam fired the Shadow Ball at Elina who, in preparation, used Quick-Attack to not only evade the Ghost attack, but also counter-attack the Alakazam. As the Sneasel rushed forward, Chase allowed himself an arrogant smirk. Just before his opponent could reach him, he Teleported behind the Sneasel and watched as it skidded to a halt only to twirl around angrily.

Before she could charge at the Psychic- type, however, she paused and remembered her orders. Counter and Swords Dance. She still didn't know what Swords Dance looked like though. In frustration, she began to sharpen her claws; as she did this, they began to glow purple and grew longer. A bit startled, she looked at her claws before up at Chase. Did that count as an attack?

Yuki seemed to have recognized the actions of his Sneasel, as well as the confusion those actions produced for Elina, and so voiced out comments about the current battle. "Impressive you two," once the two looked to him, both curious and eager to hear what he had to say, he continued. "Both of you have succeeded on your first tries. Chase, you have already figured out Shadow Ball and Elina, you have unwittingly used a Swords Dance."

Satisfaction crept onto the features of both Pokemon before they were commanded to continue. Because Elina had just executed a Swords Dance, it meant that it was now Chase's turn. Just to make sure he had Shadow Ball to an art, the Alakazam quickly cross his spoons once more to form another black and purple orb. Soon enough the Ghost attack appeared and was shot at the Sneasel.

Elina, seeing the Shadow Ball hurtling towards her once more, grinned savagely before using Quick-Attack to speedily dodge it. As she ran towards Chase once more, something hit her mind and she couldn't help but blink a few times. What attack was she doing just now? Stumbling to a stop, the Dark Ice- type scowled deeply while tilting her head. She had literally forgotten.

"Elina," Yuki called which caught the Pokemon's attention; "Chase has Disabled your Quick Attack." Once realization dawned upon the Sneasel that Yuki was talking about the attack, Disable, the Pokemon nodded in understanding before the training was instructed to be resumed.

It was Elina's turn this time, however she still didn't have the option to test out a Counter, and so she thought about what to do. Deciding to continue with simplicity, she puffed out her cheeks before blowing out a beam of wind with sparkling blue snow at the Alakazam; she was definitely going easy if she was using an Icy Wind.

Chase merely cocked a brow at the choice of attacks. It wasn't long before the Icy Wind reached him, considering he didn't bother trying to dodge it, and the sharp cold snapped him back to reality causing him to recall that the goal if this training was for the two to learn new attacks. Now it was time for him to test out his Drain Punch.

First, however, he had to think about that one. Had he ever seen one before? Possibly, though nothing came to mind immediately. Thinking about it, the attack didn't sound hard at all. Just throw a punch and drain energy. It would, in a way, be the opposite of what he does with Recovery when using it on other Pokemon, correct?

Decidedly, Chase touched the Sneasel's mind causing the Pokemon to scowl. He made an announcement to his Dark Ice- type friend that he was going to try Drain Punch now, and soon proceeded to attempt it upon giving the affirmative to use it.

A green glow appeared around Chase's hands and spoons as he rushed forward. Meanwhile, Elina was glowing a faint orange color. Once Chase's punch landed, he could feel some of Elina's energy slipping through his glowing hands before, abruptly, he was sent flying backwards due to Elina's Counter. As the Alakazam hurtled backwards, it seemed to slow down in midair and appeared to be using Recover quite rapidly. Soon enough Chase was floating there, legs crossed, and fully healed once more.

Seeing as how these two managed to master their attacks so effortlessly, the Umbran raised a hand signaling that the battle was over. "Chase, because you are fully healed, you will battle Adrastos. Chase, you will practice Light Screen and Double Team. Adrastos, you will practice Earthquake and Ally Switch."

While the Sneasel was returning to her trainer's side her body suddenly started glowing as well as the Razor Claw that hung from around her neck. Elina paused mid step, clearly confused, and felt her senses and claws become sharper; her body stronger, and her head a little more heavy though balanced.

"So you decided to evolve, Elina." Yuki tilted his head a bit to the side as he peered over at his once Sneasel. The Weavile blinked, confused, before shrugging at the question. Seeing this, the Umbran motioned for the Pokemon to come over and he waited as it approached. "Be proud my pure, sadistic one. You have evolved so you are, by all means, much more powerful than when you were a Sneasel." A light shone excitedly in the Weavile's eyes even as she was dismissed from her trainer's attention so the next battle may commence.

Adrastos bowed respectively to Chase who, in reply, nodded to him; this was a custom for the Gallade whenever training. Although it was quite obvious that Chase was the faster of the two, it was decided before Adrastos had stepped forward that he would go first in this case. Earthquake. The Gallade knew what those looked like, but he didn't know what it was like for a Pokemon to start it.

One imperceptible shake of the head before looking towards Chase. ~Chase?~ The Fighting Psychic inquired causing the Alakazam to quirk a brow in response. ~What does an Earthquake caused by a Pokemon look like?~ Adrastos waited a moment as he sensed the wheels turning in his highly intelligent psychic friend. There was suddenly a sharp piercing in his mind, caused by Chase, before images of several different Pokemon using Earthquake were produced. ~I see, thank you.~

The Alakazam nodded in response while pulling out of Adrastos's mind, dispelling the images. Now that it was known how some Pokemon caused Earthquake, it was up to Adrastos to somehow mimic one. Would stomping his foot cause anything? Jumping up? But all of those ideas were so like other Pokemon- Surya had created a unique Protect, so surely this Gallade could produce a unique Earthquake?

Deciding he was taking too long, he opted to be forced into using Earthquake in the battle and, instead, started things off with a Swords Dance. In response, the blades of his arms grew longer, sharper, and effectively more dangerous. Now to see what Chase would do from here.

Chase took his sweet time with choosing his attacks just as Adrastos had taken his time trying to discover a suitable Earthquake. To use Light Screen was similar to using Reflect, was it not? So, if he reminded himself of what it takes to use Reflect, then surely what it takes to use Light Screen would make itself known.

With this in mind, the fox-like Pokemon thrust one spoon forward, focusing on protection from physical attacks, creating a round, blue barrier around himself. Suddenly the key to Light Screen became obvious to him which caused him to smirk in satisfaction. He had already mastered one of the two attacks assigned to him for this battle, and he had yet to use it!

Once Reflect was set up, the turn went to Adrastos who had been dwelling once more on how to perform Earthquake. Seeing the protective barrier around his opponent, the Gallade couldn't help but want to strike forward. Taking a step forward, his forearms began to glow a light blue, thus signaling that he was preparing a Psycho Cut, while growing and extending further in the back. Soon after the Pokemon began to swing his arms repeatedly which flung the blades made of psychic energy towards Chase.

Yuki's Alakazam, however, wasn't terribly worried. Not only was this a Psychic- type attack, but he also had Reflect up. On top of this, Chase recalled his Gallade friend useing Double Team before and felt like he could do it himself. It came as no surprise that the Alakazam split up into several images of itself. Each blade of energy hit a copy until there were no more Alakazams standing there causing everyone watching to be confused.

Then Chase stepped from behind the tree that had been directly behind him before he executed the Double Team. Understanding dawned upon the others as they realized Chase had merely stepped back from the attack and allowed his clones take the hits.

"Very impressive, Chase." Yuki commented as he nodded to the Pokemon in pride. "You clearly have an aptitude to master what is thrown at you. I take it you also know how to use Light Screen after first reminding yourself about Reflect?"

The accuracy of the boy's words seemed to make Chase nervous; sure the Pokemon nodded in the affirmative, but it was scary how well the Umbran knew him. "Light Screen." His trainer commanded which forced the Alakazam to nod once again. It was, however, Adrastos's turn, so he would have to wait for his opponent to make a move.

Adrastos, hearing Yuki's orders for Chase to use a Light Screen, decided himself that he would use an attack better suited to being weakened by Chase's defensive move. Magical Leaf sounded about right. Crossing his forearms for a brief few seconds, he suddenly thrust them forward while pulling them apart in an X which produced multiple glowing, light green leaves flying towards Chase.

But the fox-like Psychic- type was ready for a special attack. His eyes began to glow yellow before five glowing, yellow walls appeared out of nowhere; quite obviously from the psychic energies Chase was producing. At the same time the Magical Leaves approached him, the walls raced to box him in. Soon after the leaves struck and he barely felt the attack at all.

Now that Chase had mastered all that was required for him, it was up to Adrastos to master attacks. And, by now, he knew what he was going to do about Earthquake. Quickly, seeing as how the Light Screen had been made to counter his Magical Leaf attack already, he focused his psychic energy on his forearms before, once he was quite confident, slamming a hand through the ground. There was a rumble as he released the built up energy that acted like a shock wave. Because of this, the ground began to tremble and break apart; the cracks aimed towards Chase.

This is where it got tricky. Chase knew that Adrastos had no idea what an Ally Switch was like, but the Alakazam himself knew. So, just as the Earthquake was produce, Chase touched his friend's mind, telling it to watch out for an Earthquake, and used a strange power that seemed to teleport himself and the Gallade into switching places. They were, after all, technically allies.

Adrastos, startled, watched as his own attack came rushing towards him before he jumped to the side. It proved to not be enough, however, when he felt Chase tell him to switch places with him. Apparently Chase had snuck in a Telekinesis upon switching places. Without a second thought, spurred on purely by instinct, Adrastos mimicked Chase's action. Soon enough their positions were exchanged once more, and neither took damage for the Earthquake because Chase's temporary immunity to Ground- type attacks.

Clapping could be heard from nearby causing the pair to look over at their trainer. Sometime during the battle, Yuki had returned his Weavile into its Pokeball and gently placed his Bagon in his bag where it was sleeping soundly. "Congratulations, you two. You have both met my expectations." The pair of psychics looked to one another, the adrenaline wearing off quickly, and suddenly felt exhausted. By now, the moon had disappeared beyond the horizon and the sun was starting to rise.

"How about we go over there," He gestured to the bottom of a nearby waterfall; "And I'll let you two do some meditation to recover your strength? Gives us time for Surya and Sylvn to find berries to heal themselves, Elina to get used to her new self, and for Aiko to run around energetically when she awakes." Sounded good to the two Pokemon.

And so the group Teleported over to the base of the waterfall begin the new day.

BP for Suyra, Adra, Elina, Sylvn, 2 BP for Chase

All moves approved as having been stared to be learned. They will all need a lot of practice in real battle and such before they will be at their true power and accuracy. This does include the non damaging attacks, which can fail for other interesting and amusing reasons before they're mastered ;3
