The moon cast an eerie silver glow over Jake Stark and his blue hominid pokemon Sawk as they stood at the vast cavern entrance. The cool mountain wind whistled as it passed by the jagged maw of the cave, making Jake pull the zipper of his black and red trainer style jacket up under his chin. Somewhere deep within a menacing roar could be heard. Jake gulped, he had never honestly been afraid untill this moment. He turned his head to look at his Sawk. if the pokemon was afraid his stern face didn't show it.

Jet stood still as stone his eyes looking into the blue black abyss that was the cave. His mind was full of questions just as his trainers was. What would they encounter down there? What if he couldn't handle it? But his stone hard exterior betrayed not of his emotions. He became aware of Jake's gaze and turned his own head to meet it. His hard face going soft for a second. 'Sawk.' He said reassuringly and patted his trainer on the shoulder with a bulky blue hand.

Jake smiled at his pokemon's affection. 'Thanks Jet. I've heard rumors about this place, I don't think there'd be a better llocation to train for miles in any direction.' His statement was true. Since the day Jake and his Sawk left the academy they had almost been training non stop. But a recent battle with an arrogant tween named matt had left him with the bitter taste of defeat, and the even more bitter taste of reality. He needed to train more.

Jake clenched his fists at the thought of the boy trainer. Him and his friend, Alisha, a sweet girl with a big secret, had stumbled upon a cave where he and Jet had been training. Jet helped reunite the pair and in return they botched Jake's attempt to add a rare onix comprised of fire stones to his team. Jake convinced himself he hated the boy for that reason but soon realised it was the fact that the boy mercilessly wrecked Jake in a one on one battle that made him angry. That Jake had overestimated himself and his pokemon. He made an ass of himself, and that hurt worst of all. 'I have to train harder, then I'll take you down.' He said to no one in particular, jet raised a solid black eyebrow to him but said nothing. In truth he didn't hate matt, Jake is just a poor loser...and an even poorer winner.

So in order to make him and his Sawk stronger, Jake ventured to the ancient caverns. An old place where it is rumored that powerful dragon pokemon lurk. If there was a place that would make it so he could win his honor back, it was here. 'Well Jet...here we go' jake said, Jet let out a cry of affirmation and the two begain to decend the craggy entrance into the cave system leaving fear and doubt at the rocky mouth.

The two winded their way deeper into the caverns, felling some zubats and woobats with high jump kicks for practice as they went along. They weren't very tough opponents at all. Every so often they would. Hear a roar and the sound of two dragons clashing together in the throes of battle. The duo would rush to find them but arrive in time only to find the smoldering wrecked remains of the battlefield and its participants gone.

Jake growled in frustrastion of not finding anythng to fight and Jet beat his fist against the rock wall, leaving a spiderweb like series of cracks in its place. A sudden noise made them turn. The tremor through the wall had startled some pokemon and it went skittering out of sight in a blue blur. Intrigued the two followed.

They turned the corner only to come face to face with a large nosepass. The gray rock pokemon blocked their way and seemed oblivious to that fact. 'Oh come on move!' Jake cried but the nosepass just glanced at them.

'Pass?' It said. Still unwavering. Jake gritted his teeth, that thing was going to get away because of this pokemon, but he had found a pokemon to fight now and for that he was at least a little greatful. Besides he could always find the elusive blue pokemon after the battle was over.

'Alright then have it your way! We'll move you ourselves!' He cried. 'Jet give it a good Karate chop!' The sak flipped over Jake landing with his hand out in a knife-hand fashion hitting the nosepass square in the forehead. The rock pokemon backed up a few steps obviously enraged at this unprovoked attack. Three yellow spheres formed and slowly turned into boulders as the foe used rock blast.

Using his experience from a past battle against a Ryhorn, jake cmmmanded his pokemon 'Brick break! And quick Jet!' He cried.

'Sawk!' His pokemon replied as it shattered each rock into rubble with a swift blow as they came hurtling towards them. The dust settled and the sawk stared at his opponent awaiting its next move. Both he and jake knew that in this tight corridor strategy was key.

((Are you aware that Nosepass are incapable of using, let alone learning, Rock Blast?))

The Nosepass glared at the pair; he had done nothing wrong. Who did they think they were, king of the caverns? There was already a king of Mt. Stella, and many had already tried overthrowing that one. With this in mind, the Rock- type got to thinking. By defeating this twerp and its Pokemon, maybe he would get strong enough to challenge the king himself.

Egged on by this reason, a reason that could only be turned to as an excuse to fight, the Nosepass decided to Lock-On his attention to the Sawk so that it would be unable to escape the following attacks. So what if that blue thing can break rocks? It couldn't escape a Sandstorm!

With that in mind, the Nosepass's nose began to glow a light blue, sand suddenly appearing around the small group, before the Nosepass somehow managed to do a little spin which effectively releasing a spiraling sand tornado from its body to the opponent.

((No I was not, but they should be able to. They could have rock boogers they blow out their noses. This is why I wanted a mod))

The sand started slow, a few grains at a time then the winds kicked up buffetting the two who were both sheilding their against the assailing winds and sands. The wind was so violent that it picked Jet, who was nearer to epicenter of the storm, and tossed him back into Jake; who with his eyes closed and arm pressed over it never saw the pokemon coming. The two collided together and were thrown back into the room they'd just came in.

Jake rolled out from under the Sawk and spit out sand, the storm was still billowing inside the corridor but out here it had thinned out and they could see. Jake chewed his lip as he weighed his options. 'Alright jet, here's what were gonna do. Use your focus energy, then bulk up and charge in there with a jump kick...did you see the size of that thing, you can't miss bud, and if you'll be close enough to use a brick break to really hurt him.' Jake said.

Jet nodded 'Sawk!' He cried as he steadied his breath. Jake watched his pokemons eyes narrow as he tightened his focus. He flexed his muscles making himself bigger and stature and more rigid. With one last breath the pokemon ran into the sandstorm. When he feel the air and sand beat on him more fiercely, jet made himself quicken. He squinted his eyes and leapt into the air aiming for the twisting center of the storm with his foot as he sailed through the air.

((Such a random attack that they can't use. Also, Jump Kick is not an attack Sawk can use, just to throw that out there.))

Seeing as how its opponents and been thrown out so easily, the Nosepass made a hum of mild satisfaction. It was stronger than that trainer and Pokemon, meaning it gained nothing from this pointless skirmish. With a shrug of its red arms, the Pokemon made to turn around and move deeper into the cavern only to notice the Sawk returning.

With irritated curiosity, the Rock- type paused, now facing the opponent, and watched as it was approached. So the blue creature wanted to keep fighting, huh? When the Sawk leapt into the air, Nosepass opted to grab a few boulders to perform a Rock Throw. However, because the speed between the two was significantly different, the Compass Pokemon didn't get the chance to throw the gathered rocks.

Instead, it took the blunt of the Sawk's flying kick before throwing a rock at the Sawk's face now that the Pokemon was too close to properly dodge. And, if one remembered the Lock-On attack from before, the distance between the two wouldn't matter in the first place.

As Nosepass used Rock Throw on Sawk, the Compass Pokemon backed up two steps to keep a little distance between it and its opponent; there was electricity suddenly dancing around the Pokemon's body. What was it planning now?

(Mmk so substitute a jump kick for just a regular jumping action with a kick thrown in there.)

Jet let out a startled cry as the rocks smashed into him, knocking him to his back. He deftly rolled out of the fall using his momentum to carry him back. he twisted his face in annoyance and slight pain as he returned to his feet.

'You ok Jet?' Jake called out. Hearing his pokemon's reassuring cry the trainer smiled. 'Get in there and take out its legs with a leg sweep!' He yelled. The sawk cried and began charging in but stopped short, confused at this new display before him. 'What...the...' jake said to himself as he watched the electricty arc from the pokemon. 'Jet be ready to get out of the way!' He warned.

((Short post... Short post... -rocks back and forth- My failure is disappointing me.))

The Nosepass, a bit disappointed that his opponent hadn't finished closing the gap between them, glared at the Sawk. Before it could change its mind about using its attack, the electricity suddenly jumped off its body, proving to be a Discharge, and flew mostly to the Sawk; somehow, stray electricity bolts flew towards the trainer as well.

Jake dashed to his side behind a rock to shield himself from the shock. He could feel the tingle in the air as it ran by, making the hairs on his body stand up. Jet was not so lucky, though he did have time to brace himself. The current ran through him making him convulse slighty and fall to his knees.

When the danger seemed to clear jake stood from behind his rock 'jet you're ok right?' The pokemon said nothing bot got to his feet and dusted off his gi. 'Thats my boy!' Get in there give it a double kick! If that connects trip it up with a good low sweep!m

'Sawk!' Jet yelled as he ran in, the last attack took its toll on him he wasn't moving as fast as before but he was still loads faster than the lumbery nosepass. When he got within range he lashed out two consecutive kicks hoping to connect at least one of them so he could trip up his foe.

Nosepass, admittedly, found itself viewing the Sawk with a sort of grudging respect before it realized it was under attack. That realization was a bit late, however, for its opponent had already begun the attack for a Double Kick. The Pokemon let out a cry as it flailed its arms to try to keep from falling over. This, however, didn't save it once the Fighting- type swept it off its feet.

The Compass Pokemon decidedly laid there, on the ground and still in the way as it proved to be fainted. Even with a high defense, it just couldn't compete with a Pokemon that was capable of using super effective attacks. But now that this one was on the ground fainted, Jake and Jet were finally able to move on!

Care to see what awaits them next, or maybe rest a bit so Jet can be prepared in case only more trouble is awaits the pair?

Jake cheered his Sawk on as it felled the nosepass. He gave him a high five and spoke some praise. The two sat down next to the fainted nosepass to have some much needed and deserved rest. It was true there were powerful pokemon here. Jake sat around and kept watch as his sawk napped, hoping to see the tiny blue snake pokemon he saw earlier.

Little did he know, the Pokemon he was hoping to see had been watching the battle. It tilted its head curiously as the Sawk slept and the boy looked around as if in search of something. It was impressed, admittedly, that the Pokemon which was blue like itself was strong enough to defeat the Nosepass which was also blue.

But no matter. The Pokemon lingered a bit longer to watch Jake and his Pokemon partner before turning to slither deeper into the cave. If the pair chose to continue on, then this little one would just have to keep an eye out for them to see how they faired. It did, after all, enjoy the idea that there was a strong blue Pokemon.

Jake shook his Sawk awake after a couple of hours. 'You feelin better?' He asked softly the pokemon responded by letting out a cry and stretching. The two got to their feet and began going further down the cavern. Jake was a little disheartened, he hadn't seen another sign of the blue snakelike critter. Ut he wasn't going to stop searching for it.

After a little while wandering down the winding tunnels the duo came to a wide open cavern, an underground waterfall fed into a lake on the far end and tbe cavern floor was littered with numerous stalagmites. Some of which had jagged purple crystals growing off of them which cast a soft glow along the cavern wall. Both jake and his sawk stared in awe.

The cavern was, indeed, quite wonderful; it was also not quite empty. Soon enough, there was a bubble from under the water that rose to the surface, popped, and caused a rippling effect in the lake. Before trainer or Pokemon could get a chance to investigate, however, an aggressive Pokemon cry echoed in the cavern from behind the waterfall.

It seemed that there was a path back there in case one decided to continue on. Whether the pair decided they wanted to investigate to see what had made that noise wouldn't matter, in the end, because a Marowak had confidently strode from the path behind the waterfall into the open only to glare territorially at Jake and Jet.

As if in challenge, the Bone Keeper began to Focus Energy, a light blue aura surrounding it, before Growling at the Sawk.

Jake smiled as his sawk lowered himself into a fighting stance raising his arms up. 'Lets start this show Jet. Bulk up!' He cried.

'Sawk!' Jet replied and he flexed his muscles, making himslf look bigger and more imposing. He stared with defiant eyes at the marowak. The nosepass wasn't nearly as strong as this pokemon, both Jet and his trainer could tell. But neither were going to back out of this challenge.

The Marowak, noticing the Sawk appear to be more imposing, paused for a moment. With another low Growl, the Bone Keeper decided to play it safe for the moment to test how strong its opponent really was before flinging its bone towards Jet in a Bonemerang. While the bone flew towards the Marowak's opponent, the Pokemon itself rushed forward in hopes to catch the bone sooner as well as attempt a Headbutt.

'This looks like a trick Jet, keep your distance!' Jake ordered. Jet twisted his body letting the bone club fly by and leapt ot of the way of the charging marowak. The pokemons skull helmed dome narrowly missed his chest. Jet landed a few yards to the bone keepers side, watching as it reached up without taking its eyes off of him to catch the bone club.

'Bulk up again Jet!' Jake called out, again jet flexed his muscles, becoming more and more ready for this powerful foe.

The Marowak scowled under its skull helmet. Both attacks had failed and, to top it off, its opponent wasn't striking back. This was infuriating to the Bone Keeper because it was almost as if it was being taunted; being played with. The Pokemon would not allow this to continue and decidedly worked itself up into a Rage. In the process of this, it used Bonemerang again before rushing forward.

This time, instead of attempting a Headbutt, the Pokemon was planning to perform a Double Kick. To prove this, it spun around on one foot, once it was near the Sawk, then prepared to kick twice in quick succession. While it did this, it would also catch its bone once the the thing returned.
