Chase sighed as he sat on the mountainside, looking out across Aerei. It was a little bit boring out here for him, but Flare had decided a while ago that he'd wanted to go see Suyra again after such a long time apart. They'd been doing things on their own for a while now, and it was time for them to meet up. Flare had acted as sniffer dog for a while now, looking around for some sort of trace of his brother in the region but it hadn't been close to easy. The closest he'd been in a long time had been while they were up this mountain with the strongest scent in the area. It wasn't the best by a long way, but it was somewhere the trainer seemed to like to hang out. Better idea than just searching the whole region. Chase yawned, leaning back against some rocks as he looked out over the small plateau that the pair had found. At least from here he could see people coming most likely, and he could catch his breath before Flare caught another faint whiff on the wind and the pair ended up darting off in some other direction. At least from here the only way was down. Oh he longed for the time one of his pokémon would be large enough to ride around instead of hiking everywhere, but oh well. Not much he could do but keep on training. "Flare, I know you're never gonna give up on this, but can we at least just camp out here for a bit? If you smell him here so much might be best to wait instead of trying to run around all the time." came the voice of the tired little boy as he looked out, Flare whining a little, resting his head down on Chases lap for a moment. They'd rest for a short while at least. Not like Yuki was about to magically appear from thin air in front of them or anything... |

Chase blinked as the other Growlithe started doing all these strange moves which he didn't really know where they came from. Not that many people used that many TMs just for one pokém- Egg moves... If they were egg moves and Flare and Suyra were brothers, they must have the same egg moves, right? Flare ended up being kicked, staggering back a little and shaking his head from being kicked. He glanced to Chase, yapping a little to break him from whatever he'd been thinking so deeply about. "Oh, um, Take Down." he called, remembering to be actually battling again through the thoughts. If he kept on watching, he might be able to see a load more moves that Flare could do that he didn't know about... |

"Interesting choice, though also dangerous." Yuki commented as he heard Chase's order for a Take Down. His eyes peered apathetically towards Chas as he noticed the boy's thoughts had wandered before returning his attention to the battle at hand. "Leer as he approaches, then spin around with an Iron Tail." Surya, having succeeded with his Double Kick, had turned around to keep an eye on his brother. The last thing he wanted was Flare sneaking in an attack because he had his back turned. Ears perked, the Growlithe snarled as menacingly as he could at his brother as he Leered at the other Puppy. Family or not this was a battle so he had to do his best. Once Flare was close, Surya spun around once more for his Ironed Tail to take the hit from the approaching Take Down instead of his body. After the two attacks were executed, with or without their meeting, Yuki command for a Morning Sun. With that command announced, a light would be cast down on him from the sun to return some health to him. |

Flare whined as he got hit once more by that metal tail rather than the fur that he'd been aiming for, but he quickly tried to shake himself off. "Go Reversal!" Chase called, smiling faintly. The Take Down may have been risky, but the lower Flares health, the stronger that move was, plus the stupid Iron Tail that kept getting in the way wouldn't help defend against a fighting move. Flare quickly jumped back into the action, trying to take the moment while Suyra was basking in the sunlight to attack quickly before there was much room for dodging out the way. |

Interesting attack choice, and one that Yuki might have considered himself if his Growlithe's health was low. Well, there was a way to make the change without having to take any actual damage. "Substitute. His Growlithe, in the middle of basking in the sunlight, decidedly complied with the orders. Just as Surya's health was put at full, it was cut in half as a second Surya appeared and leapt forward to take the hit instead. While the clone did so, Surya tried to regain at least a sliver of lost health as the Morning Sun faded. A thought suddenly occurred to his trainer at this point though was left unsaid as it was to be toyed with later on. "Surya, Agility up to Crunch." Surya, watching as his Substitute continued to insist on being the target of Flare's Reversal, tensed his muscles as he prepared to sprint at his brother and attempt biting down hard on the fellow Growlithe. The moment that Substitute disappeared would be the moment Surya followed through with his orders. |

Flare managed to be confused for a moment, looking to the shreds of the doll in a slight amount of confusion. How was he meant to be giving some nice scars to his brother if all he was being given to attack was this silly doll?? "Watch out! Aerial Ace out of there, then Reversal again!" Chase called, managing to still be that bit amazed at the amounts of attacks he were seeing that could only have been egg moves. How much could his puppy know that he'd never even bothered to find out? All of his pokémon even? Flare darted away using the super speed of the Aerial Ace, only just evading the Crunch by the tip of his tail. He quickly jumped back to attack with the fighting move, though jumping backwards to try and hit a fast moving target wasn't all that easy. |

Aerial Ace? That was a curious attack for a Growlithe to have been taught, but it proved its use as Flare effectively dodged Surya's Crunch. Still, his Puppy had the momentum of the two attacks it tried to use to keep it moving so it would be a bit of a challenge to land that Reversal. Never hurt to stay on the safe side though. "Stand your ground and use Protect." Surya, hearing this order, skidded to a halt as he gathered flames and unleashed them to form a burning barrier around his body. When Yuki told him to remove the flames, however, the fire disappeared and revealed a slightly transparent barrier. "Howl and prepare to Crunch." The Growlithe then Howled in response as he waited for his brother to approach. Even if the Protect failed, he was still new to the attack after all, and it ended up shattering, the effort it would take to get through the attack would be all Surya needed to find the a chance and make his move. If by some miracle the Protect worked, then he would dash forward nonetheless and attempt to Crunch down on his opponent. |

The Protect did some of its job, taking away quite a bit of the momentum from Flare as he fell. As a sudden change of plan he started to reverse and use the front paws that might have a little more momentum behind them to attack, hitting fur for the first time this match. "Bite it back!" Chase called quickly, watching as the two puppies lashed out at each other, though Suyra with the more powerful move due to the experience and such that he'd clearly gained with the time in the others ownership. It didn't mean that Flare was giving up yet though. Nothing was going to stop him fighting down to the wire for this. |

And so the pair of Puppies found themselves in a Bite/Crunch match, though Surya's Crunch would probably be stronger due to attack choice, battle experience, and the fact Surya had Howled a few times during the battle to pump himself up and be more eager to deal damage. Still, Yuki needed to make sure he got some benefit out of the two Growlithe being locked by their jaws. "Keep up the Crunch and perform a Double Kick." Surya, determined to follow orders, Crunched down harder. There was a bit of a drawback, however, as he refrained himself from drawing blood. With his grip hopefully tightened by the teeth, the Puppy lifted his front paws and made to Kick at Flare in that position. As awkward of a position that was to be attempting a few kicks. |

Chase bit his lip softly on seeing the position that the two had managed to get themselves into. Suyra soon started flailing about in order to try and kick Flare, but Chase wasn't about to let that go quite so easy. "While he's kicking, he's not got grip on the ground. Quickly, toss him out the way!" he called, watching with baited breath. Flare seemed to get some sort of the idea, attempting to spin, using the Bite clamp as the anchor point in order to get a little momentum and throw the other puppy away. While it would hurt him quite an amount with the others grip on his fur, it ought to pain him too since he was aiming to slam Suyra against the nearby rock face. |

Watching as Surya was tossed away, Yuki frowned softly. This battle didn't appear to be letting up much. Sure his Growlithe more than likely had more health and energy thanks to the Morning Sun and battle experience, but that other Puppy known as Flare was proving to be a fight. "You're about to hit a rock. Iron Tail." Surya, not expecting to be thrown aside, was easily lifted. He did, however, keep his jaws tight where he had Crunched down onto his brother and so wasn't quite thrown away as much as the other had hoped. Sure he was going towards the rock, but certainly he wouldn't go without the other? Ears perked, the Growlithe made to do as he was told. Thrashing his tail, now glowing a metallic white, he searched for this rock that he was supposedly about to hit and growled lightly in satisfaction when his tail struck it. "You're close together, try a Reversal." Well it may not be as strong as Flare's, as far as the pair knew, but it could at least get the job done; damage was still being done by the Bite after all. "Don't be afraid to Crunch down harder." If Yuki commanded it, then Surya would try to follow through. |

With the flailing from the Reversal and the increase in power of the Crunch on his side there wasn't much Flare could do but quickly try to get away. the fact that the other was Crunching down on him though did make that a great deal harder to do. "You okay Flare..?" Chase asked slowly, seeing the Puppy Pokémon looking like he was getting quite well beaten down. The Reversal may not have been as strong as when it were performed by Flare, but that didn't mean it had no power behind it at all. Flare whined a little, but couldn't just give up here. He shot out a Flame Burst at the rocks nearby both to try and distract Surya and make them come loose as some sort of improvised Rock Throw kind of thing. Just after he charged in with an Aerial Ace, trying to hit the other down before retreating away, knowing that any hits from here would probably be his last of the fight. |

Yuki tilted his head slightly as he noticed Chase not give any orders to Flare. Well, the battle did seem to be leaning more favorably to the older of the two, so Yuki shrugged imperceptibly. "Release, Protect, Roar." There was no need to add on to the orders, and good thing too, because at that moment a certain baby Bagon decided it was hungry. In the Umbran's bag, Aiko had woken and was squirming around restlessly. When she felt the bag being moved, she stopped her actions and patiently waited to see what was to happen next. Much to her relief, a stream of light entered the bag and a hand was offered for her to climb; it was eagerly clambered onto. "What timing you have..." Yuki mumbled to the baby Dragon as he distracted himself with the Pokemon. It was still climbing his arm, going for his shoulder, as he swung a shoulder strap over his free shoulder. As soon as Aiko was in place and comfortable, he patted the Bagon and told it to wait a bit longer. Meanwhile, Surya had quickly relinquished his grip on the opposing Growlithe while scrambling to start backing up. The Flame Burst proved to do the trick as a distraction, even though the Puppy knew it wasn't heading towards him, and so he missed what his brother was up to. Still, he had more instructions to follow through. That being the case, he attempted another Protect, a burst of fire escaping his opened maw and circling around him as a flaming barrier. The rocks that shot up due to the Flame Burst scattered about, some going towards the Protective barrier, and wasn't seen immediately after that. It was as the Aerial Ace was under use that the fire around the barrier disappeared to reveal the hidden Growlithe. The rocks had come close to hitting him and were revealed to be lying just behind Surya. The Puppy was snarling deeply for a moment before unleashing a loud Roar. Of course, by then, Yuki realized why he hadn't used that earlier. With his luck, something was going to lumber towards the group to try beating him up. Again. "Haxorus." The teen flatly announced, as if he expected another one to appear, and placed his hand on his right arm as it throbbed irritably; yellow eyes dartiny back and forth suspiciously. |

Flare quickly darted away from the brother on hearing the roar, before a large part of him was forced to pause. He could feel that there was something on its way now, but in his current state there was no way he could help to fight something of that calibre off, if Yuki was right anyway. "Haxorus..?" Chase asked slowly, not seeming to understand what was going on until very faintly he started to hear a roar from quite a distance away, but by the sounds of things it wasn't going to be too far away for long. Flare growled a little, attempting to at least sound some kind of warning for what was approaching them, even if right now he looked like he was having some trouble standing on all four legs. |

When Chase repeated the Pokemon name, Yuki shook his head quickly. No, ignore that- it was instinctual." He replied to the child's question as he snapped his fingers and strode swiftly to the latter's side. "It better not be a Haxorus though. Sick of those." For once, the teen's words weren't flat but actually sincere. Yuki was stubbornly against running into another Dragon of that caliber. The roar that had been a response to Surya's repeated its threat, though the owner of the threats had yet to reveal itself. When his trainer gave him orders, he Howled in response and activated another Morning Sun to return some much needed energy. It came as a relief when Elina appeared by his side and, in practice to form a habit, sharpened her claws with a Swords Dance. By now Yuki was already beside Chase, eyes still darting about suspiciously, and he had snapped the Sneasel's Pokeball onto his belt next to Surya's. "Your Growlithe is tired so I suggest putting it away. if we're lucky, we can escape without a battle..." Even as he said this, the Umbran knew that the chance had been missed. "That's assuming, however, that I've ever been lucky." Apparently he was as lucky as ever for the wild Pokemon made its appearance. For some reason a sigh of relief escaped the yellow-eyed teen upon spotting the 2.1m Iron Armor Pokemon. "Just an Aggron." The teen concluded the Pokemon glared at each member of the group. "Maybe luck is with me today." As if in response to his words, the Aggron angrily Screeched at everyone which put Surya in quite a bit of agony due to his hypersensitive hearing. Elina even covered parts of her head from the noise while Aiko irritably bumped her head against Yuki's in pain. "Arceus! Surya Flamethrower, Elina Taunt!" Much to the relief of Yuki and his team, Elina's Taunting the Aggron swiftly ended the Screech before it became distracted by Surya's Flamethrower. |

Chases first reaction was to very quickly run over next to Yuki on seeing the Aggron appearing, wanting to be with him for the protection. While he still had his pokémon, it didn't mean that there wasn't still a large part of him screaming that he needed someone human to cling on to and hide behind. The fact that a large screech seemed to bypass his ears and go straight for attacking his brain didn't help much either. Flare was withdrawn under Yukis guidance, no matter how stubborn the Puppy seemed to be about handling everything fine. Sebastian were released instead, joining the front line with Surya and Elina. "Supersonic and Sand Attack, Sebastian." chase called, hoping that the distraction techniques might be able to help stop the Aggron from being able to hit the pokémon who were just trying to defend where they were. |

As if on instinct, Yuki turned a bit so that Chase would run into his side upon approaching. With Chase beside him, the teen would place a confident hand around the younger's shoulders while concentrating on the battle at hand. All right, so the Aggron was a bit on the clumsy side; most likely a recently evolved- all the more dangerous, unfortunately, not only because of level but because it has no control over its strength. The Taunt did its job nicely in keeping the Aggron from thinking about anything but attacking while the Flamethrower kept it at a decent enough distance for the moment. While the decently sized Pokemon was distracted by the fire, it trying to not actually touch those eager flames, it didn't see the Vibrava move in. Thanks to the Vibrava, the Aggron was disoriented and possibly less accurate than a DynamicPunch without a Mind Reader. In a confused rage, the Aggron swung about wildly with Metal Claws glinting dangerously before slamming the claws onto the ground and creating mud wherever the claws touched to Mud-Slap its surroundings. If the wild Pokemon had just stuck to wildly swinging its arms around, then maybe Yuki would have allowed himself to doubt the capability of this opponent. As his luck dictated, however, the Pokemon was a tad more intelligent than it first appeared. Now if only the teen could concentrate properly without a baby Bagon ramming its rock-hard skull against his head. A throbbing migraine was starting to pulse behind his eyes and he just knew there was going to be a bruise later where the Bagon was hitting him. "Surya, see if a Leer will lower its defenses..." He trailed off as he unbalanced Aiko from his shoulder and had the Dragon tumble back into his gaping backpack. Oh the relief. "Elina, let's hear a Screech of your own to help lower the defense." The teen then waited and watched as his two Pokemon got to work. |

Chase bit his lip, watching what was going on. Before all the screeching started he quickly covered his ears in some attempt to be in quite so much head pain, though one ear ending up being dug into Yukis side in an attempt to hide it that way. "Sebastian, join in the Screeching, then go Sand Tomb." he called, before managing to get a little distracted and mumbling a few words to himself. It appeared he liked the odd change of the sound of his own voice when he had his ears blocked as he started giggling a little because of it. Sebastian soon joined the other two in the ways that the group could help lower the large pokémons defence. He aimed to finish the Screech quite quickly, starting to power up the Sand Tomb to follow on, attempting to entrap the Iron Armour pokémon. While it might not have been the strongest move in the world normally, it ought to help stop the instant reaction be to lash out at them and the lowered defence of the beast would help them out also. At least that was the plan. |

Elina easily dodged the Mud-Slap, having merely darted off to the side, up a tree, and then backflipping back into her original position after the opponent's attack was finished. Surya, meanwhile, had the fun of scampering around, trying to dodge each sludge of mud thrown his way. It was kind of amusing, watching the Puppy put in the effort to run around like that, and Elina found herself sharpening her claws again. "Concentrate Elina." Yuki commanded making the Sneasel glance sharply at him before moodily returning focus to the battle at hand. "Keep its attention on you by throwing Ice Shards at it. Surya, heat up that Sand Tomb with a Fire Spin." Because of the Sand-Attack, the Aggron had missed the penetrating Leer entirely, but luckily there was nothing to keep it from hearing the two Screeches. If it was just loud and annoying noise, then maybe it could have been countered by Screeching as well. As it was, the Vibrava's joining from a different position made that partially impossible. That said, its pulsing and confusing headache worsened causing it to stumble a bit. The moment it stumbled was the moment it got caught by the Sand Tomb. The sand from the previous Sand-Attack had jumped off the ground and encircled the large Steel- type to encase it. Infuriated by the excruciating pain, the Aggron Stomped to get its footing before dashing at the trainers in a blind Dragon Rush. At that particular time, however, the Sneasel finished forming her batch of Ice Shards and began to wildly throw them at the Aggron. Two out of three struck the target, it might not have been an attack be used like that but she did have the time to make so many, while the third flew towards Chase and Yuki. It was almost like everything was out to the teen, and Chase was just getting dragged into it. Yuki spun, throwing his arms around Chase while flinging his bag roughly to the ground beside them, and forced the child to the ground with him. As it was, the teen had pulled Chase to his chest and while slamming his own back painfully onto the ground, then rolling to the side a bit so that he would be a human shield of sorts. Thankfully he was quick enough so that the Ice Shard only managed to trim his hair slightly. As for the Aggron, being hit by those Ice Shards did manage to confuse it. Apparently it wasn't going the right way if that attack came from the side, so the Pokemon made to turn and narrowly missed trampling over the trainers' feet. "I swear Death is trying to get me back for slipping from its fingers." He grumbled to himself while glancing quickly over his shoulder as the Aggron passed. Aiko, who had been in the bag at the time, also grumbled incoherently to herself as she crawled out from it; the remaining egg being rolled beside her and had somehow remained unharmed thanks to her effort. The Bagon had a feeling that the bag she was hiding in would hit the ground eventually, it almost always did whenever Yuki was in-battle, so she had been prepared. Surya chose that moment to unleash the Fire Spin and yipped in satisfaction as the flames licked at the Aggron's feet. The fire caused the Pokemon to stumble in surprise which further made it trip over itself. At the moment, it was too winded to do anything due to the fatigue and weariness from the super-effective attacks. "While it's down, what do you want to do?" The older male trainer inquired as he released Chase to allow the younger to move away. |

Chase had yelped, clutching onto Yuki for protection as the older man dragged both of them to the ground. He stayed clutched onto him for quite a while before Yuki muttering to himself both helped to snap him out of it and worry him even more at the same time. "I don't want either of us to die..." he murmured quietly, tears slipping down his cheeks and his breath starting to get erratic. It was clear that while he was a competent trainer he was not used to battling things that would attack him rather than his pokémon. As Yuki started to release him, shaking hands only gripped onto him tighter, refusing to let the comfort of the other person here leave him left alone. He barely seemed to register that Yuki had even said anything before he allowed himself the faintest glance over towards the battle field towards the felled beast not too far away. "Make it go away..." he whined quietly. Apparently Sebastian managed to hear the mumblings of the young boy, flying over not too far from it and delivering an Earthquake, though not aimed at it directly. Instead the earth split, ending up creating a small island where the Aggron were laying with cracks separating it from the main mountain. A slight shift of movement from the beast had the island sliding off from the mountain and falling down to the ground quite a way away. Chase didn't seem to either notice or care that it was gone though, staying clung onto Yuki for protection. |

Elina, quite bored, rolled her eyes as the Aggron slipped away, never to be felled by her hand. She had barely done anything, as far as she knew, that could have at least meant a real dent in that Pokemon's armour. The Sneasel wanted to at least land an Ice Punch or something on it. Without thinking about it, the Sharp Claw Pokemon let out a sigh of a complaint and strode less-than enthusiastically to Aiko. At least the baby Bagon was somewhat interesting as she had the same eyes as their trainer somehow. Elina was positive Yuki could not breed with a Salamence even if it was love at first sight. Surya, meanwhile, shook his head disapprovingly at Elina as she complained. The Sneasel should have been happy to even be called into battle! Still, this wasn't the time to be complaining as Chase, a boy important to Yuki if Surya remembered correctly, appeared to be quite shaken. Having noticed this, the Growlithe padded over wearily only to sit a foot away from the two trainers in case they decided to do anything. It was a respectful distance, he thought, and would allow him to be noticed whenever. Yuki, of course, noticed immediately and blinked an eye in acknowledgement before returning his attention to Chase. For the first time, the teen actually remembered that Chase, trainer or not, was still a child. There was a subtle change in the look of his eyes as they softened. The boy needed comforting, and Yuki was keenly aware that he was the only one around to give it. Arceus truly was against him. With a humorless chuckle, the teen wrapped his arms around Chase once more and actually embraced the boy; the strength in his arms becoming partially apparent as he shifted so that they were now sitting up with Chase on Yuki's lap. "Neither of us will die," Yuki cooed softly, moving a hand so that it rested on Chase's head and allowing his fingers to come through the boy's hair. "None of our Pokemon will die. It's gone and you're safe." His voice was incredibly low, bordering an unnatural soothing tone, and his mind proved to be rather blank. What, exactly, did a person say when a child cried and it was the person's fault? Sorry? When had that ever helped a person in a life-death situation? Instead, he repeated, "It's gone" to Chase, and continued to run his fingers through the child's hair. It needed to be washed as badly as his own did after this little episode. Now that he was sitting, yellow eyes glanced towards Sebastian and blinked in acknowledgment for the Vibrava's action before Yuki returned his arm around Chase and placed his chin a bit on Chase's head. Making sure that his arms were wrapped protectively around Chase, Yuki muttered: "I've got you" and closed his eyes as he wondered if he was at least doing this right. If this gave no results, he'd have to try something else- maybe hand over the calming job to his Growlithe. Surya would probably do this better than he can. |
