A scarlet light was suddenly released from something near the gates. The noise startled a nearby houses Houndoom, as it barked away at the light. The sign read 'Starling City', but outside the gates it was just endless road and forest. However, Kazuya was glad to be leaving. He could no longer stand the fact that his parents wouldn't let him have a pokemon, and now it was time for him to be leaving. He looked down at Croagunk, and Croagunks lifeless eyes looked back at him. Staring at eachother for about 10 seconds, they had a chance to think, where to go. Kazuya had heard of a Dragonite flying center, where he could pay a price to fly wherever he wanted, but he didn't want to do that. He wanted to experience this new world, first hand. He and Croagunk stepped their right foot outside of the gate. The left foot soon followed. They were now free. Walking onwards, they noticed that there wasn't really much of a road. It was more of a clearing, a footpath, just somewhere where there was no grass and no tree's. It seemed more natural than a road, and Kazuya felt as if he was truly exploring the world. Looking around, the trees cried endlessly, with different pokemon all staring him on. Croagunk wasn't as curious, and continued to stare ahead of him. It was then that they were brought to a halt. A pokeball was situated on the ground. From afar, everything seemed to be normal about it. He had no Pokeballs with him, and if he was to catch more pokemon, he would need another. He looked at Croagunk again, who still had his eyes fixated on the road. Kazuya sighed, and kept on walking. As he approached, the Pokeball began to look somewhat odd, but Kazuya was still fixated with the thrill of finding another pokeball. It didn't go down that way. It sprang into life, lifting up its mushroom shaped top, which was stupidly disguised as a pokeball. The white, legless mushroom proceeded to fire off an Energy Ball at Kazuya. Jumping backwards, Croagunk did... nothing. He was fixated on the road still, staring forwards, not budging an inch. "Stupid frog, do something!" Kazuya yelled, Croagunk still watching the road. He eventually turned his head and saw foongus there, and realised what was happening. Immediately, his hand shone a mystical purple, which connected with Foongus, pushing it backwards about 10 metres. It was still holding up, and bounced towards Croagunk. Croagunk held up its arms to block the attack, but when he pulled away his arms, nothing was there. Croagunk looked around, confused as to what had happened. This was short lived, as the mushroom connected with Croagunks back, with a respectably powerful Faint Attack. Croagunk easily shrugged off the not very effective hit, and faced his opponent. "Alright, Croagunk go for a Mud Bomb!" Kazuya shouted, finally getting up onto his feet. The orders went through, and Croagunk proceeded to form mud inside his mouth. It built up until his cheeks could not stretch anymore, and spat it out, with a respectable amount of force, Knocking Foongus onto its back. The Foongus rubbed his eyes frantically, trying to get the dirt out of his eyes, but to little avail. Croagunk approached the injured Foongus, and croaked. "Now hit it with Poison Jab." Kazuya ordered, hoping to finish off Foongus now. He didn't have the time to be battling with it, and he needed to move on. Croagunk stood above Foongus, sending poison energy to his black hand, turning it a dark purple colour. At this instant, Foongus had cleaned its eyes, and watched the hand hammer down. It was over... or so Kazuya assumed. Foongus, weak from battling croagunk, was still able to get up. As Croagunk turned away, Foongus was holding itself up by its hands, and had enough energy left for one last attack. Building up energy in its mushroom top, it began to glow. The suns energy was being drawn to it. Kazuya looked back at Foongus, and noticed it. It could only mean one thing. Solarbeam was coming, and it was going to hit Croagunk hard. But it was too late to warn him. As the energy was released from Foongus's mushroom top, Croagunk could only turn around and take the huge amount of damage. Foongus fell to the ground after this, and fainted. Luckily the hit was Not very effective. Grass wasn't incredibly strong against a Poison type like Croagunk, and he was able to recover. However that Foongus was incredibly strong, and if Kazuya had a Pokeball, it would be his. It was ironic, how it had all started with Kazuya thinking he had found a Pokeball. Kazuya helped Croagunk to his feet, whilst Croagunk Dusted himself off. Kazuya's first battle was a success, and he was proud of himself. Croagunk however, went back to his ordinary, emotionless state, eyes fixated on the road. "Croa..." (Awaiting approval of BP before next post) |

With Croagunk back to his old boring self, Kazuya carried on along the path to wherever he was headed. Honestly, he had no idea where he was going, and he didn't have a map. Kazuya preferred to rely on instinct to find where he was going, although his so called instinct was to follow the path to wherever it may take him. As he hit a fork in the road, he stopped. There was a sign, one with an arrow to the left, and one with an arrow to the right. The Right signpost was faded and read 'p ru to n.' The rest was unreadable, not even the letters could be made out. The left signpost read 'Virida Town.' Naturally, he headed for the town that he knew wouldn't be dangerous. Kazuya was nowhere near an idiot... unlike Croagunk, who had gone down completely the wrong path. Noticing this, Kazuya turned, and attempted to stop Croagunk. "Croagunk, where do you think you're going?!" attempting to pull Croagunk back. Croagunk wouldn't budge, and kept on attempting to walk. "Fine, Return." the scarlet light engulfed Croagunk and brought it back to his pokeball. Kazuya sighed once more, getting tired of having to sigh every time Croagunk did something stupid. Just as Kazuya was about to turn the other direction, the scarlet light re-appeared. Somehow Croagunk had escaped his pokeball, and was now walking faster towards the mystery destination. Kazuya slammed his palm against his forehead, and wiped it down his face in distress. Mystery town it was. As he and Croagunk approached, a cry could be heard. Kazuya was unsure what cry it was, but something wasn't right. Whatever it was, it was scared. Kazuya forgot all about Virida town and headed for wherever the cry was coming from. He didn't actually know where he was headed, but Croagunk was leading him there. They came to a halt, and couldn't believe what they were seeing. Acres of rubble, were all scattered over a wasteland of dying plants and toppled buildings. A few buildings remained standing, but not many. Most had liquefacted into the earth over time, and nothing was left but sand and rubble. Kazuya looked on in awe, the horrendous image of death portrayed perfectly by the scenery. He heard the cry again, and Croagunk passed the half faded sign, and entered the wasteland. Kazuya hesitated, and stopped to read the sign. He didn't have the time to be astonished by where they were, and ran after Croagunk. Parum Town - Where expactations are met (Done with this thread, will carry it on in the Ruins of Parum Town) |
