Almighty Master of You All
A blast of lightening hitting hit wing was all it took to have George plummeting from the sky, crashing down into the earth below with such speed even Figaro couldn’t transform into anything to save him.

Slowly and groggily he lifted his head, checking that his pokémon were all alright before attempting to search for what had been the cause of his crash.

“Good evening, George. Hope I’m not interrupting anything.” Purred a voice from nearby which had him frowning as he turned to look and see who was there.

Leo stood, his whole posture seeming at the same time both incredibly bored and powerful. Tigre lay next to him, his wings curled into his back as he licked a paw to groom himself while he waited on orders.

“You could have called rather than shooting me down.” George hissed, attempting to reach back to help soothe the wing which remained with the feeling of burning from the electricity. Unfortunately the human frame was never designed to have the wings grafted onto them, so the pain remained out of reach.

“You know what, George? We did. Several times in fact. You haven’t even thought to go anywhere near either of our Headquarters in the past several months. No one has had any contact with you since the order of our head scientist to make you what you are now. You know we don’t take too lightly to our members going AWOL...” Leo purred, smirking at George, watching that little flick of fear crossing his eyes for a moment.

The small flicker of fear faded quickly though as he regained confidence in who he was and who he was here to represent.

“I am not an Umbran anymore. I belong to the Quintet. I do what they say, and with your task to try and entrap Morbidark I cannot be helping you in anyway.” George stood up, facing him with what he hoped was an equally intimidating look. His wings shuddered a little as he stared the other, older man down.

“You think you can scare me with some little show? No one perfects a dramatic change to their body that quickly. I could probably slit your throat myself, no need for Tigre here to get involved.”

“You wanna bet?” George hissed. “I have broken off from you, the only ones with power over me any more are the ones who control this region. You cannot stop me when I have them behind me.”

“Like anyone would ever believe that.” Leo sneered, rolling his eyes. A knife was drawn from somewhere, the blade glinting and shining to show quite exactly how sharp it was. Even the layer of scales seemed like it might not be enough, and that was without the consideration that actually the parts of his body that would be aimed at were all still perfectly human.

“Refuse to believe the truth if you so wish, it’s not going to help.” He said, trying to hide that hint of worry which crossed him. What he’d said so far had been true with the not quite able to control himself yet, and that blade was dangerous whatever happened.

“Keep believing that, George. It’s clearly gotten you so far already. So far in fact it’s led to right here and now, with me getting the privilege of being the one to remove you from Umbra formally. You know the rules. No one gets out alive.”

“If you even thought about Morbidarks message for half a moment you’d know killing isn’t the way.” George snarled, only to be responded to by the calmest voice he’d heard all day.

“Death is a release and saviour from life. Those who do not wish to have it by joining us, can lose it. Be their death at the hands of us, or the hooves of Morbidark, they shall have their release from this pitying existence.”

“Morbidark will never join you.”

“He won’t have a choice.” Leo hissed, throwing the knife which had been idle in his hand for too long.

George called out in surprise on feeling the blade dig in, slicing through his wing and only stopping once the handle hit his scales. The pain soon joined the feeling of shock and a deep growl leaving his throat.

“You’ll pay for that.”

Figaro quickly jumped into action, turning into a grenade launcher and resting itself on Georges shoulder, but George simply shrugged the Ditto off.

“This is between us Figaro. If you need to sate the bloodlust, have fun with the Luxray.” He scalded the pokémon, using his tail to brush his other two pokémon out the way completely. The pain which ran through his wing just from the action of moving his tail seemed enough that he were wincing through it, attempting not to move the wing in any way, no matter how hard it was.

“This is going to be easier than I thought.” Chuckled Leo as he moved in closer to George. George stepped back a little, attempting to gather himself for a moment before running to charge in, his claws raised in an attempt to cut down the other man where he stood.

Leo barely flinched on seeing the other charge, even putting one arm behind his back. The remaining arm reached up, he dodging to the side, grabbing hold of and twisting the knife in its lodging in Georges wing. The sudden shot of pain caused George to scream out, his footing failing him and sending him to the ground. Leo removed the blade from Georges wing, moving to stand over him.

“You know you can barely see a mark where this little beauty carved its way through your scales...” Leo purred, placing a foot on Georges chest to make sure he stayed on the ground. “The blood barely even shows either. Your scales do have quite a nice colour to them.”

The small confident ramble of the man above him gave George all the time he needed to prepare though, gathering the little used draconic energy inside him which was so amplified by the items slung around his neck.

The fireball was forged, firing directly up at one of the few things it was hard to miss from this angle, Leos crotch. Leo only just dodged out the way of the blast before irreparable damage was caused to his nether regions.

“I agree, let’s make this a bit more fun.” He smirked, playing as though this whole thing were just a game where there could only be him as a victor in the end.

Meanwhile Tigre and Figaro were having interesting times of their own. Tigre had taken to the skies, firing off Discharges and keeping an aura around his teeth that whatever the Ditto were transforming into he could retort with the strongest biting move possible, be it Crunch or one of the elemental fang attacks.

Figaro had turned into a small fighter jet, doing everything he could to get away and use the small missiles attached under each wing, just doing so needed it to be facing the purple wildcat behind, and that wasn’t all too easy when the moment it got a little bit too close it got surged with electricity and chomped on.

That was the one problem with who he was. While humans had done a lot of very good thing to try and better nature and do good things, but they were only good in one way. Yes, it was more agile and faster right now, but no way in hell it could attack right now. Nature was just better sometimes and it made him sick.

A Feint Attack had it quickly knocked from the sky from where it had been, swooping towards the ground, only just pulling up before it hit the tree line. Quickly Figaro changed again this time to a hang glider, catching the wind to swoop out the way in a way that it hoped the Luxray wouldn’t be able to copy, but that didn’t manage to matter as the metal frame of the glider attracted a full Discharge towards it.

Just in time the frame turned into a lightweight plastic, leaving it just able to stop a large amount of the pain before it changed direction and aimed directly at the Luxray for some version of a Double-Edge. It was the frontal attack that Tigre wasn’t expecting which had the wild cat quickly doing what it could to work out what to happen next. Quickly a Take Down was started, the two attacks colliding with a very loud bang up in the air.

The collision managed to have both pokémon falling from the sky, and the two trainers distracted for just a moment. With that battle ending up a draw the two men quickly looked at each other, realising that their fight would be the end of it.

Claws quickly met knife blade as they both attempted to get the first shot in once more. They glared at each other, growling in similar ways. George quickly started one of his dragon blasts, but a swift kick of Leo to Georges crotch had it stopped in his throat and the two backing off once more.

“Been a while since I had a bit of a challenge...” Leo purred, smirking in a way that made his mouth and his knife look almost exactly the same.

“Nice to know someone’s having fun..” George scowled, breathing out the remains of the failed attack before his throat burned up completely from the inside. Even if the move had a practical purpose it did also help him to look that bit more ferocious and less likely to back down.

Leo moved forwards first, George quickly turning, his tail smacking him aside against another of the trees before George followed through with it, his claws shooting straight into the man’s shoulder in a way that would cause a lot of pain but more than likely not kill him.

“Leave me alone Leo. You know as well as anyone else high in Umbra I could have had your job at any point had I thought I wanted it.” He hissed, glaring the man down. “Now, you run along back to Incendia and the others and tell them for certain that I’ve quit, and next time you try sending anyone out to kill me, try and make it someone half competent.”

George withdraw his claws from Leos shoulder, leaving him slumped against that particular tree. George barely had time to collect his pokémon from where they were hidden and leave before Leo stopped being stunned, moving to find his own pokémon in silence. He was lucky the demi dragon had decided to stop there, so he’d only start pushing his luck once well out of his reach.

George took to the skies, hissing in pain from the cut in his wing where Leo had stabbed him, but it wasn’t long before that small pain was completely forgotten. That might have been because a much larger one had over taken him.

He landed once more, attempting to work out what had just happened before he felt himself be violently sick, leaning against a tree in order to stop from collapsing to the ground. Figaro had by this point managed to wake up, looking at him curiously. On his back, one of the five markings there had expanded, creating a Celtic looking pattern spreading out from it, but not in a way that it overtook the other four. Figaro quickly became a pair of mirrors, allowing George to see what had happened.

“Get me to Pestilice.” He groaned weakly, realising what had happened even if he didn’t understand why.

Figaro turned into a large hot air balloon, the basket scooping George up, Ra and Coral quickly hopping in too so not to be left behind.

Rather that needing to go anywhere special though, Pestilice managed to meet up with George in the balloon anyway. The creature had soared up and landed next to him on the basket, Figaro needing to compensate as best the Ditto could. It wasn’t easy, but it at least meant the two had privacy.

You told Umbra of your role.” came a voice which sounded both the most beautiful voice he’d ever heard but with overtones of the most gruesome voice that made you feel ill to even think about it.

George seemed about to answer when suddenly he reached over the edge of the basket, once more being violently ill before sliding back in, curling in on himself, wrapping up in everything he had and starting to shake.

“He wasn’t going to leave me alone, I needed to survive, for you.” He coughed weakly.

Umbra now knows that there is a being in this region who has a deep connection with us, and they know exactly how to abuse it. You allowed this to happen, and for it you cannot be let off lightly.

George stayed curled up in silence, his eyes screwed shut, whimpering weakly. It wasn’t the sight he wanted to give to the beings that he worshipped and feared, but at this moment he didn’t have much of a choice.

You have three more chances before Morbidark relieves you of your responsibility. You need to be more careful, young George.” purred the voice before the balloon jolted as the creature left its perch.

A loud burst echoed above him, the hot air balloon having burst and the whole system falling to the ground with a crash.

It wasn’t until George woke up that he realised that he’d managed to go through yet another whole meeting with one of the Quintet without ever laying eyes on them. Not that it mattered at that moment, him curled up in agony as his frame filled with every illness he’d ever thought about there having ever been, and then a whole heap more to boot.

“I’ll be good...” he whined quietly in his small ball, simply praying that the curse set down on him would end sooner rather than later.
