After leaving Clearwater caves, Thomas was in a sort of high. He had never been so excited in his life, and yet he knew that this was only the beginning. Pure adrenaline could have kept him going, but Thomas knew enough about Pokemon to know what he needed to do next.

I'll never let anything happen to you. Thomas thought as he looked down at his Poké Ball. He had saved the life of this Pokémon, and he wouldn't let it all go wrong.

Thomas stepped out of the cave, and looked around. To the north, he could see a forest stretching for miles. To the east was a vast lake, presumably many water-type Pokémon would live there. To the west was the cave that Thomas had just come from. To the south was the way back to his hometown. There's no going back now. Thomas turned to the north, and ran to the forest.

"Go Riolu!" Thomas shouted throwing the ball into the air. His Riolu emitted from it. Thomas sensed a feeling of loyalty coming onto him. Presumably this was an aura emitted from the Riolu, but it easily could have been his own loyalty to his Pokémon. "Are you ready to do some training?"

"Rio!" Riolu said happily.

Thomas looked around for some Pokémon, but couldn't find any. He walked around, and found a very sturdy tree. "I know you know Sky Uppercut, so let's see it on something other than me."

Riolu faced the tree an jumped. Its foot flew through the air with such incredible speed that the power upon contact with the tree was incredible. The tree still stood, though. Thomas thought for a second, and then said. "Riolu's can learn Vacuum wave, lets try that. Focus all your energy on a punch that drains the air from the area."

Riolu listened and then focused on its target. It pulled back its fist, and punched. Nothing happened. "Rio." Riolu said, looking slightly upset.

"It's alright, try again." Thomas replied.

Riolu looked to its target once again and pulled back its fist. He punched through the air, causing a slight disturbance.

"That was great, you just need some more practice, you can get it."

Riolu pulled back its fist for the third time. Focusing everything it had on the target, it swung its fist one more time. The air from the area went away slightly, and the tree shook slightly. Riolu became more determined. This trainer just risked his life for me, I can't let him down. Another punch was released, slightly draining the air. Riolu took several more swings at the air, but never formed a true Vacuum Wave.

"Great job, Riolu. You're starting to get it, if you keep trying like that, there's nothing you can't do." Thomas said.

At that time, a Pidgey flew by. Riolu looked up at the flying-type with a mixture of fear and determination. Riolu knew that flying-types had an advantage, but he also knew that he couldn't let his new trainer down. Riolu pulled back his fist, and fired a punch towards the low-flying Pidgey.

The air around the Pidgey went away. The bird seemed to suffocate slightly, and fell from the sky. It was almost near the ground before it caught itself. The Pidgey rose up higher preparing an attack. Pidgey began flapping its wings preparing the Gust attack.

A tornado-like funnel formed from the wings of the Pidgey, and it moved toward Riolu. The frightened Riolu had no idea what to do. "Move out of the way and give it a Sky Uppercut!" Thomas told Riolu. Riolu dived out of the way of the gust, and then launched itself high into the air. It's fist came into contact with the bird and knocked it to the ground.

The Pidgey was knocked out.

"Great job Riolu." Thomas said, and he threw the Poké Ball at Riolu. The fighting-type went into the ball, and the ball returned to Thomas. Thomas then picked up the Pidgey and walked over to a small pool of water. Thomas scooped up some water and put it into the Pidey's mouth. "You'll be all right. You can go home." Thomas told the Pidgey. With that, he through the Pidey into the air, and it flew away.

I'm not sure if you're done with this or not, but either way I'll have to point out that the mini-battle with the Pidgey won't warrant any BP. Add a few moves on either side to make it more of a battle, then we'll talk.

Yeah, I was only trying to learn the move Vacuum Wave, not to earn a BP, but perhaps I'll lengthen the battle to earn one.

Well if it's the move you're mainly after, approved learning of Vacuum Wave. If you do lengthen the battle, be sure to inform any of the mods/admins to get that BP
