Why was it always when Kitty was just wandering around, minding her own business that things had to pop up and totally destroy her day? Here she was, walking around, looking for adventure and a challenge, when a rather nasty one just threw itself into her face. "What the hell is that?" Kitty exclaimed, after the enormous shimmering silhouette swooped down from the heavens and started pecking and swiping at her and her pokemon with its glittering talons. She had to shield her eyes from the sun to look up at it, and couldn't quite see it through the way it reflected the sun's rays in such a way that her retinas would never be the same again. "Vee!" her Eevee horde cried in unison as one of them was lifted into the sunset to be this monster's brunch. "Sandie!" Kitty cried with her pokemon, and leapt up to catch her, but fell short by just one inch. The bird creature noisily flapped away, the chubby Eevee squirming in its grip, to disappear into a handy nearby cave. With a sigh, Kitty began to trudge through the mud towards the entrance, returning everyone except Rocky into their balls and popping them into her backpack. "I really don't have time for this," she muttered into the cavern's entrance, and her voice echoed it back to her in case she hadn't heard herself the first time. |

"Honey, I promise you there is absolutely nothing to eat here. Hold on a second... Hey-!" In the midst of Hannah's berating of the giant bruin, a gargantuan flying Pokemon grabbed her scarf from behind. The dark-haired trainer let out a frightened shout and felt her legs begin to lift up (and the scarf tighten around her neck), until finally it unraveled and she dropped to the cold ground. As she turned, the bird-like creature let out a sharp cry and turned tail with Shaymin gripped tightly within its talons. As it did so, the little hedgehog Pokemon started to squeal, squirming uselessly in the bird creature's grasp. As the mysterious Pokemon vanished into the ensuing crystal cave system, a small, meek voice could be heard crying out: "It's going to eat me! Help me, I don't want to!" Immediately, Hannah gave Chase, with Honey directly in tow with her lumbering self. Hannah had a bit of a difficult time trudging through the mud that led up to the cave's entrance, but that didn't stop her from yelling threats and demanding that the bird return Shaymin. As she made it to the entrance of the aforementioned cave, she saw a trainer. Of course, her immediate reaction was to accuse the woman of owning the renegade bird Pokemon. "Was it your Pokemon?" She demanded immediately. "I swear that I'll pluck every single one of its feathers if I don't get Shaymin back!" |

Kitty had barely one foot in the cave before some new creature of evil popped up behind her and started yelling. She started, and span around, and Rocky growled, hackles raised. "Get away from me!" she said, hands on hips, until she noticed that this girl was just another trainer. She scratched her head. Was what her pokemon? Was she talking about Sandie? "Yeah, it was my pokemon too," she said, misunderstanding, seeing that this girl's pokemon must also have been snatched. A low rumble rose from her Eevee's throat at the sight of the enormous Ursaring, and Kitty did a double take when she saw her. "Jesus Christ," she said to the huge creature. "Hello, there.." If anything was certain right now, it was that Kitty really didn't want to get on the wrong side of the pissed off girl with the tree-sized bear pet. |

Obviously, Kitty and Hannah weren't communicating very well. When it seemed that Kitty had evidently admitted to the bird Pokemon belonging to her, the girl flushed some and approached the woman. "So it was your Pokemon that took my Shaymin?" As she broadened her shoulders to try and size the other trainer up, Honey suddenly whined and leaned against Hannah's shoulder, pointing dejectedly further down into the cave. The dark-haired trainer ceased her momentary interrogation in favor of acknowledging the bear, then quickly seemed to realize that the bruin was pointing further down into the cave because she could smell Shaymin. Hannah looked from Honey, to Kitty, and cleared her throat, realizing that the girl might not actually own the wayward bird Pokemon. "Sorry," She said quickly, through a small, shaky sigh. "Which way did it go? Right inside here? Well, what're you doing here? Did it take your Pokemon too?" Hannah then looked at the trainer expediently as if waiting for her to answer this barrage of questions. Meanwhile, Honey lowered herself down on all fours and groaned, looking down into the cave's depths apprehensively. Then, noticing the 'ferocious' looking Eevee, groaned again and backed up, almost as if she might have been intimidated. |

Kitty wasn't entirely sure what was going on around her as she watched the way the huge bear moved around. When it backed off from Rocky a little, however, she realised that the pokemon would probably only be a threat if commanded by its trainer. And the girl didn't look like she took any nonsense. "Yes, it took my Eevee." She looked down at Rocky, then back up. "My other one." She paused, feeling quite stupid for a moment, then scratched her head and pointed into the depths of the cave. "We should probably go together. It'd be safer." She eyed the Ursaring up again, and then turned to walk without waiting for an answer. After a couple of feet, she looked over to the other girl with a small frown. "I'm sorry... did you say you have a Shaymin?" |

"Fine, then let's hurry up and go." She did seem a bit rushed and distracted, but it was all well within reason. After all, watching your Pokemon who was no bigger than a softball or two being scooped up by a giant bird wasn't something one could dwell on for too long. She started to walk, with Honey barely getting a lumbering step in before Kitty turned around and addressed the fact it was a Shaymin she had lost. Hannah frowned some, realizing she must have let the name slip in her fervor. The woman didn't look like anything to be afraid of (not with her other Eevee taken away, anyway), but it had still been a careless thing to go about shouting. "Yeah," She muttered quietly, then continued to walk, regardless of whether or not Kitty followed. "I suppose I did; I was too caught up in the moment. I don't... well, I don't own a Shaymin, per say, but I keep it with me. It's so small and incredibly weak that I don't think it could last more than a day without us. Honey and I, that is." As she said this, she motioned to the blonde bear behind her. "I just promised to keep it safe and seeing it being carried off by a giant bird isn't exactly getting it done." After a second, she seemed to suddenly change the subject, motioning towards Kitty's Eevee. "What's his name? I can tell he's male from his squared face. Granted, it's slight, but he certainly does have a masculine appeal. I'm Hannah, by the way." Now that she was more comfortable, her mouth had seemed to loosen up as well. |

Feeling far more comfortable now that the girl had stopped suspecting her and the bear was now an ally instead of a potential foe, Kitty smiled at her new companion. "I'm Kitty," she said. "This is Rocky." She motioned down at the Eevee, who looked up at the mention of his name. "That's pretty impressive of you. I can tell that your Ursaring is a girl by the bow around her neck. Unless she's a pretty effeminate male, of course." She grinned, then quickly added, "which is fine." She took a deep breath, looking around her. The cave was poorly lit, but she could still see so far. She decided to release her little grey Ponyta, and let her flickering cyan flames help to illuminate the growing darkness. "There, that's a little brighter," she said, putting her hands on her hips. But when she saw what was in front of her, she visibly jumped. Dozens of Zubat hung from the cave ceiling like bunches of purple bananas. They slowly opened their mouths, one by one, and startled or angered (did it matter?) by the sudden intrusion of the light, screeched and beat their leathery wings to take off from their perches and fly in the intruders' faces. Kitty screamed despite herself, and the echoing noise prompted a deep rumble from the bowels of the cave that went unnoticed by her as she smacked away the panicked bats. |

Whether or not Kitty had been joking when she made the comment about Honey being an feminine boar, Hannah covered her mouth and laughed quietly as if it had thoroughly amused her. Upon hearing Hannah laugh, Honey made a gruff noise that sounded as if she were trying to do the same, although if she were actually smart enough to know what Kitty had said, she would have been quite offended. When the trainer released her Ponyta, Hannah smiled some, wanting to note how she'd never seen a grey Ponyta and what a pretty Rapidash it would make (and other interesting facts such as it was Shaymin who normally used Flash within caves) but the sight of dozens upon dozens of Zubat startled her into silence. Before she had the opportunity to even think of panicking, the bats took off and purposely launched themselves in her and Kitty's faces. She squealed and held her hat over her eyes, tuckering down best she could to avoid the flapping wings in her face. Honey, despite having been intimidated by Rocky moments prior, merely stood there as the Zubat whirled past, starring off into the sea of purple as if she wasn't entirely sure what was happening. When the bats had finally subsided their flyby, she groaned and scratched at her nose casually. Then, as if nothing had just happened, lumbered a few feet ahead and sniffed the air. Seeming to catch something on the air (which could have been anything, really, considering how Honey considered anything food), the blonde bear chuffed loudly, motioning further into the cave. Honey, recovering from the winged assault, straightened her hat and continued walking, shaking off the incident without comment. Mostly, she didn't want to admit that she had actually shouted, despite the fact Kitty had done the same. She didn't take more than a few steps before there was another deep, guttural sound from somewhere within the cave. It wasn't exactly a growl, but an erratic sort of heavy, growling breathing, similar to Honey when she was exhausted. "Did you hear that?" The dark-haired trainer asked. (because i'm totally letting you come up with stuff since you're the dungeon master) |

((I probably should have mentioned at the start: I have literally no idea what I'm doing in this, like ever. I just wing it all. XD Feel free to make anything up or alter things that I've said! In fact, please do~)) Kitty watched the Zubat cloud flap away behind them and paused a second before shivering wildly. "Arceus, I really don't like those things," she exclaimed, before brushing down her long purple jacket and walking to catch up with Hannah, also pretending that nothing had happened. The Ursaring was actually pretty adorable, in a really strange way. Despite its size - her size - she had a healthy light-coloured coat and big, innocent eyes. After watching the bear for a moment, Kitty looked to the other trainer. "How did you get her so big?" she asked, wondering if there was a secret potion for it. She momentarily pictured having a colossal Eevee towering above her, and smiled. But then frowned as eight more appeared before her in her mind. That would probably be pretty awful.. It wasn't good for the babies to be cooped up in pokeballs; the nurse had told her that. As soon as she had decided that the cave was safe enough for them, she would have to let them out before they got confused or scared. She shoved her hands in her pockets, keeping her eyes trained to the ceiling. The long, winding tunnel stretched out up ahead and widened eventually into a cavern. Kitty waited for Freya to enter the room to see what was inside. ((:D)) Edited by shadowcat, Dec 21 2011, 03:14 PM.

Hannah was a bit surprised by the question on Honey's size and, after a second of thinking, started to laugh like before in an amused manner. "I didn't," she tittered, smiling faintly once the giggles had subsided. "she grew that size on her own. It's odd; when she was a Teddiursa, she was normal size and normal colored. I'm not complaining, though. It is a little difficult to find a Pokemon center that will accommodate her." While Honey didn't know what was being said, she did seem to realize they were talking about her, which she seemed to associat with something bad. She made a loud chuffing noise, reminiscent of a sneeze and shook her head to and fro in some sort of odd display of bear irritation. Simply giving the bruin a brief pat on the head, Hannah's eyes traveled to the widening cavern ahead and might possibly be lurking inside. As the two approached, regardless of whether or not Freya had entered the cavern or not, the same guttural growl resonated throughout the cave system. Hannah stopped instinctively, but the growling persisted. It seemed to intensify until the cave itself started to tremble, the stalactites above vibrating precariously. "We should-" Hannah was cut off by a sudden quake. From the broad cavern above, something seemed to be stirring. Dust began to fall from the ceiling and several stalactites crashed to the crystalline floor as the massive Pokemon struggled to move through the tiny opening. Once it had crawled past, it revealed itself in Freya's cyan light as a rather pissed looking Steelix. |

"That is definitely odd," Kitty agreed, looking again to the bear. Now that she was calm and not perceiving the thing as an enemy, she could appreciate the way her muscles moved under her shaggy fur as she walked. "Maybe it's just something that-" But no one would ever find out what Kitty's theory was, because she stopped short in the middle of her sentence when the enormous grimacing steel monster jutted its horrible face out of the entrance. "Holy crap," she said, helpfully, and then frowned to her two pokemon. "Well I think this is a job for you, Freya. Why don't you try to trap that thing in a Fire Spin for the time being?" She turned to Hannah and shrugged. "I don't think we're going to be welcome here," she pointed out. "This is going to be a difficult journey..." But she thought of Sandie and her mewling kits who would be left behind, and her fists tightened. Nothing would stand in the way of her babies' well-being. Er, Sandie's babies. |

"Honey, let Bonnie handle this. Your shoulder is still sore from the other day, baby." Upon seeing Honey start to approach the Steelix, Hannah immediately placed a hand on her shoulder (as if this would stop her if she really wanted to battle), convincing her to leave the fray to a more better suited Pokemon. Besides, a fire-type would be better suited for it than she would, especially combined with Kitty's own Ponyta. Once she made sure the bear was seated calmly, Hannah removed a ball from her belt and tossed it out into the cavern, releasing a pretty normal looking Rapidash compared to Kitty's grey Ponyta. Immediately, the equine Pokemon pawed the ground and snorted, igniting her flames and sizing up the steel serpent. It was being held off temporarily by Freya's Fire Spin, but didn't seem too intimidated by the flames to back off. "You would think it would back off from flames. Looks like we're going to have to battle it, then." As Hannah said this, the Steelix reared up as high as it could and Screeched. The sound was that of a million nails on a million chalk boards and even caused the cave itself to shake some with the force. As it screeched, it started to grab a few loose rocks with its tail and throw them in the direction of the trainer's and their Pokemon. It was kept at bay from the Fire Spin, but it was obvious that it didn't plan on being kept at a distance for too long. |

Kitty clamped her hands over her ears as the Steelix began to Screech, bent almost double and gritting her teeth until it stopped. She straightened herself up again and took a deep breath, thinking about how best to deal with this situation. Wait, she'd taught Freya Flamethrower, hadn't she? That was useful. She pointed forwards and called out to her Ponyta. "Now Flamethrower!" she ordered. The Fire Spin hadn't been quite as detrimental as she'd hoped, but that was probably to be expected when facing what amounted to a metallic leviathan. Hearing the order, the Ponyta's back legs and neck stretched out as she opened her mouth and an azure torrent of flame poured out towards the Steelix's face, her mane and tail flickering wildly with her concentration. When she'd finished, she shook herself off and stepped backwards to try to avoid the rocks that were being pitched at them. A couple of the small ones grazed her skin, making red lines across her grey fur. "Keep dodging," Kitty encouraged, knowing that if Freya were to go down she would pretty much be no help for this fight and would subsequently feel very guilty to Hannah. There was a small flash of light from inside her pocket, and a small fluffy creature poked its head out and began to climb using sharp little claws very slowly up her jacket. Kitty blinked at it for a moment before scooping the baby Eevee up and inspecting it with a frown, then a smile. "You naughty little bean. How did you manage that?" she said softly, moving it to cradle in her arms. "If you're going to stay out here you need to behave," she told it, taking a couple of steps back to avoid the rest of the rocks. |

Hannah watched as Kitty's Ponyta sprayed the Steelix in a sea of beryl flames, noting how each of the Steelix's body segments began to glow red hot and it cried out in pain. But, it seemed that as soon as the flames heated up the creature's body, it would immediately cool back down again and the serpent would rear up for another attack. Then, she suddenly remembered that Steelix were composed of tempered steel and despite being weak to fire, were somewhat used to extreme heat from where they lived in the earth's mantle. Surely, heating up the thing and then quickly cooling it would cause it to crack? "I have an idea!" She said quickly and quite proudly of herself. "Do you have any Pokemon that knows some sort of Ice move such as Ice Beam or Aurora Beam? If not, then a water-type should suffice." While she could have probably used Cher, she wasn't quite sure the cave itself would support the enormous Milotic and give her enough freedom to move about. Granted, while the Steelix could move, it was made of steel and the rough crystalline formations did little to hurt it, whereas they would almost certainly cause Cher pain. "It's composed of tempered steel, which means it should crack if its heated up and then cooled quickly. Ponyta have diamond hard hooves - Rapidash somewhat less, but I suppose they're still hard enough to damage steel -, more then enough to crack it once its cooled down. Then, assuming its smart enough, it should leave us be." As Hannah said this, Bonnie had already stepped forward and proceeded to use her own Flamethrower (sadly, it wasn't as pretty as Freya's was) on the Steelix, causing it to backpedal and cry out once more. Enraged and obviously in pain, the Iron Snake Pokemon opened its massive mouth and began firing decent-sized boulders at the group. It didn't have very accurate aim with the Rock Blast, but Bonnie did have to jump up and off to the side to avoid being struck. |

"Oh," Kitty said, shielding her face and the escaped Eevee from silt that was showering down from the cave's ceiling, caused by the thrashing Steelix. "That's a really good idea." She struggled to manoeuvre her arms enough to release Hunter from his pokeball. The Umbran experiment formed on the cavern floor, flopping about a little in confusion before seeing the enormous threat in front of him. He squealed and flopped backwards a little. "It's ok, Hunter, we have a plan," Kitty informed him. "Freya, keep going with that Flamethrower." The Ponyta released another stream of flames, not as thick and forceful as her evolution's, but good enough to make the big metal opponent experience some real discomfort. When the surface of its shining hide was good and red, Kitty told Freya to stop, and the Ponyta's flames ceased. "Now, Hunter. Hydro Pump. Make it as cold as you can. Like, the opposite of Scald," she felt the need to add, having recently taught him the boiling water move and not wanting him to ruin the plan by using hot water. With a short nod, the Gorebyss inhaled deeply, and then shot out a pulsing torrent of water towards the Steelix. "Get back!" Kitty warned Bonnie and Freya as the newly-evolved pokemon struggled to maintain control of the powerful attack, and it sprayed the Steelix in the face, body, and the cavern's walls as well. |

Hannah smiled some, feeling a bit proud of herself for coming up with a rather doable plan. She watched, chest swelled, as the two fire-types sprayed the Steelix with enough flames to adequately cause it to become red hot. When Kitty's Gorebyss began to spray its Hydro Pump, the amount of steam produced by the water hitting the red hot steel caused the cave to quickly become so humid and steamy that it was difficult to see or breath. It took a couple of moments for the steam to fade, at which point Hannah (with her hair very much curled due to the moisture), motioned for Bonnie and Freya to proceed with finishing up the plan. "Now, Bonnie, give it a good kick and it should crack! You two should definitely do the trick." Hannah assured the slightly wet equine Pokemon. Bonnie snorted and rushed forward, approaching the groaning Iron Snake and immediately turning around to try and strike it with her back feet. Unfortunately, the shaken Steelix wasn't quite down for the count. It cried out and swung its segmented tail around, striking the horse Pokemon in her side and sending her skidding along the floor of the cave. As her body hit the wet rock floor, several loud hisses could be heard as the flames on her mane were extinguished some. "Oh, Bonnie!" Hannah called, rushing to the Rapidash's aid. At this point, the Steelix was beginning to grow more restless, lifting itself from the ground and beginning to slither forward awkwardly for another round of attacks. Perhaps, if they were lucky, the hit to Bonnie had served as enough of a distraction for Freya to land a decent kick without the snake noticing. |

The Ponyta skittered backwards in fright as the Rapidash was sent skidding across the floor. "Now, Freya. Blaze Kick!" Her little pokemon hesitated only for a split second before nodding her head and leaping forwards, breaking into a canter and then swiftly turning on her hooves, sliding across the wet cave floor in a semi-circle until she was facing away from the Steelix. Her back legs ignited with a brilliant blue flame and she lashed out with a violent kick from her back legs. With a roar of pain, the Steelix whipped his tail around to catch her across the chest and she too went sliding across the cave floor, her hot skin hissing against the damp floor. Before Kitty could open her mouth to order Hunter to finish the attack off, Rocky noticed the kit in his trainer's arms bury its face into her sleeve in fright, and with an irritated click of his teeth, leapt forwards, span around in mid air and collided his now metallic tail with the Steelix's most vulnerable spot, causing the hairline crack Freya had caused to chip off. With another roar, the huge steel snake span around, tail smacking into the walls as it fled the cavern. "It worked!" Kitty cried. "You're like a genius!" She bent down to hand the kit to Rocky, who took it in his teeth, then moved over to check that Freya was alright. |

((So like, the next thing, I was thinking, would be some sort of booby trap puzzle thing. Like, three caves to choose from. One is a dead end, the other two look plausible but you have to defeat a Pokemon, at which point when they've both been defeated, the dead end cave door opens. Some weird freaky ass shit or something. I was thinking the semi-boss Pokemon could be some weird prehistoric Pokemon like Kabutops or ... Kabutops. )) Hannah put her arm under Bonnie's neck and help lift the horse's head up, all the while being extremely grateful she had enough mind about her to remember to keep the flames cool enough for Hannah to touch her. The fire horse Pokemon snorted and pushed herself up onto her hooves, shaking off the blow and walked slowly over to the Ponyta, sniffing her neck and making sure she was alright. Granted, she'd never met the Ponyta before, but she had a soft spot for her prior evolution. Smiling once she saw that everyone was okay, Hannah stood and dusted off her dress and approached Kitty and Freya. "I wouldn't say that," She answered with a small giggle, then motioned for Bonnie and Honey to follow her so that they could continue on through the cave system. She figured Bonnie would be useful since it was the more the merrier when it came to lighting the near pitch black cave. She paused for a moment once they had entered the cavern the Steelix had been residing in, noticing at least three plausible cave routes they could take. She looked back at Kitty for a second just to make sure the woman didn't have any objections to taking that particular route. However, after just a few feet inside, it was clear there wasn't any going that direction; the cave was an utter dead end. Sighing heavily and feeling a bit defeated, Hannah turned, acknowledging that they were going to have to choose a different route. |

((Maybe we have to defeat two Kabuto and two Omanyte to 'unlock' the mini boss of a Kabutops and Omastar?)) Kitty knelt, rubbing her hand across Freya's small body with small, quick circular movements to try to warm the fire type up a little. It worked, and after a few moments the pony picked herself up in an alarmingly rapid movement, as horses were known to do the second they recovered from anything. "Good girl," Kitty cooed, kissing her on the tip of her velvety grey muzzle and getting up to trot quickly after Hannah, just to catch the acknowledgement that this was a dead end. "Oh, bad luck," she said, craning her neck to see the end of the tunnel to give a second opinion. Yes, it was definitely a dead end. Seeing as she was already blocking the entrance back into the cavern, she decided to take initiative and move into the cavern on the right - or on the left from where they had first entered. She led the way for a little while, hoping that the other trainer was bringing up the rear, her hand on Freya's head, until the end. "Oh," she said with a small frown. "It looks like it's another dead e-" but she stopped her sentence suddenly when two pokemon leapt out at her. Kabuto? But... surely they didn't exist any more. Oh well, anything could happen in Aerei. She shrugged and tossed out a pokeball and out popped her Zweilous. Who sprinted helpfully into a wall. Kitty hoped Hannah hadn't seen that. |

(( I assume we'll mod each other's Kubuto~ )) "Can't we get a break? I need to find my Shaymin!" Hannah stomped the cave floor, at which point the two Kabuto narrowed their two little yellow eyes and both let out terrible, piercing screeches; Metal Sound. Grinding her teeth and holding her ears, Hannah struggled to find Ginger's Pokeball and successfully toss it out into the cave (Bonnie was already out, but there was no way she could battle something a fraction of her size). Instead, she chose the fiery Sandslash, whom immediately started to chatter and bang her claws together threateningly once she saw prehistoric threat. Bonnie, nickering softly in mild concern (it was only a Kabuto, after all), prodded next to Freya and leaned against the smaller horse in some sort of herd mentality kind of thing. "Okay, Ginger, we'll end this quick. Defense Curl and Rapid Spin!" "Slasand!" The red Sandslash squeaked, jumping into the air and curling into a beach-ball sized sphere. She opened up her quills for added traction (and they would hurt like hell if something were to touch them) and mobility, then proceeded to spin straight towards the Kabuto in hopes of knocking the little creature into the nearby wall. Meanwhile, the second Kabuto was eyed the blind Zweilous with obvious amusement. It scuttled over to the dragon Pokemon and hissed. From somewhere discernible mouth on the creature's face, it began to charge up an Ice Beam and fire it at the Pokemon. |
