The Dragonite touched down rather roughly at the base of Mt. Stella and Kitty nearly went tumbling out of the basket with all eight Eevee, but they managed to stay unharmed and clambered out one by one. Tryce, the smallest kit, was in her arms and Archer was clinging onto her head, still frightened from his first flight. The others seemed fine, though, and were all climbing over each other in their desire to be the closest to their father and his trainer. "Mt. Stella," she said quietly, looking up to the peak. She couldn't even see it, especially not today - it was covered by horrible grey clouds. "This is going to be horrible. I hope it doesn't rain." But, of course, as soon as she said that she noticed darker spots beginning to form on the rocks by her feet. "Dammit." She nodded up to a cave that was a few feet up the rock face. "It'll take us a few minutes to climb up to there and we can decide what to do when we get to safety, ok?" She frowned at all of her Eevee kits. "This is going to be very difficult, though. Is everyone ready?" They ignored her, instead following Rocky as he padded up to sniff at the rocks. There were enough footholds that she was confident about her and her companion, but to get all seven of his children up as well would be the challenge. |

"Are they really having as much fun as they look like they are?" Jayden asked his Aipom, Ai, as he gestured to the two Water-types on his team. As it was, the Wanderer was trying to set up camp a few feet away from the cave entrance. He didn't feel comfortable hanging around in the entrance of a cave, and so he made it a point to his Pokemon that he wasn't going near there. Ai, smiling thoughtfully as he watched Adel run around Azel to make the Staryu spin, nodded in reply before reluctantly returning his attention to the tent. There happened to be a lone tree near the cave, and it was beneath this tree that Ai agreed to have the helf tent pitched. Finally, after the Aipom jumped from branch to branch, the tent was set and Jayden carefully placed his pack within the shelter. "Ari, Aran," Jayden called out to the Skitty and Magnemite. "Could you two find some berries?" When Aran bobbed up and down in the air in agreement, Ari mewled in acceptance. This done, the pair turned away to move towards the edge of the cliff-like side to take a look around. As it was, they were now in view of Kitty and her army of Eevee. "Come here, Abban, it'll be dry in the tent." Jayden motioned for the Swinub to approach and watched, somewhat unfocused, as the Pokemon made its slow progress over to his side. Now only he, Ai, Adel, and Azel were left, but that was perfectly fine with him. His Poliwag and Staryu were eager for it to start raining, Ai was deep in thought, and Jayden was waiting for his Skitty and Magnemite to return. What he didn't know, however, was Ari's becoming distracted at the sight of all the Eevee. Unfortunately Aran didn't hold much sway when it came to the Kitten, and so the Magnet Pokemon was forced to follow closely as its companion chose to drop down a few feet before pausing to watch all the Normal-types below. Not even the sight of Kitty, a trainer, bothered the Kitten as Ari purred at the sight of all the younglings. |

As the rain around her started to become more noticeable, the kits began to whine. The weakest, smallest kit in her arms made a throaty noise of discomfort so she unwrapped her scarf and gently laid it across his back. "It's ok, guys, it's just rain. I know it's cold but we'll be safe in a minute if we cooperate." The kits continued to mewl and swish their tails, and Kitty sighed. "Ok, I'm going to go up first, check it's safe up there. Rocky, I'll be back in a second." The Eevee nodded. Kitty popped Tryce into her jacket pocket with the scarf as a sort of burrito wrapper, and he stuck his tiny head out to look around in curiosity at the cliff face as she scaled up it. The footholes were easy to come by, but such was her concentration that she completely failed to notice the Skitty and Magnemite surveying her Eevee troupe as she passed by. It took several minutes and very raw hands to get to the top, but she managed it, and moved to look inside the cave to check for unwelcome residents. Meanwhile, Rocky's trained nose had caught the whiff of strange pokemon. He puffed out his fur to look more threatening but it was flattened by the steady rainfall again. Following the vague scent, he found himself face to face with a Skitty on the level above him. He whined in displeasure at the way the other pokemon was eyeing up his offspring, and swished his tail rapidly from left to right in warning. |

Because Jayden knew where his Pokemon descended from, the young adult's eyes focused on the ledge that was just before the cave entrance. When he noticed something start to reach the ledge, Jayden visibly relaxed before he abruptly tensed again, for it wasn't his Pokemon that scaled it. As he watched, a human female hauled herself over the ledge and then strode purposefully to the cave. Before he knew what he was doing, Jayden spun towards the lone tree and lunged out to grab at something. It wasn't until Ai easily evaded his well-timed hands that Jayden's action registered in his mind: He was trying to prevent his Aipom from approaching yet another person. "Ai! Ai, get back here!" The Wanderer demanded just loud enough for Kitty to hear him. Still, the Long Tail Pokemon chose to blatantly ignore his order and continued on its way to greet the female trainer. Adel and Azel, upon noticing this, watched for a moment before resuming their playful dance in the rain. Azel had explained enough times to the team what Ai's habits were, and so neither the Poliwag nor the Staryu seemed concerned with the Aipom's action. While Ai scampered towards the cave to see Kitty, Ari pulled away from Rocky in surprise while Aran admonished the Skitty. Aware of how odd it must have been to be watching the younger Eevee, Ari apologized to Rocky, admitting that he was merely reminiscing of the time when he was a young Skitty following his own parents and playing with his siblings. Good times, those were, though he didn't regret growing up and becoming the Skitty that he was now. |

Kitty turned around in surprise when she heard a male voice through the rain, just in time to spot an unfamiliar shape bounding towards her. Immediately thinking that the creature was hungry and had spotted the tiny head in her coat pocket as some sort of snack, she backed herself against the stone wall. "Ro-" she started to call out, but the Eevee had to stay with his kits. She was alone. She had left all of her pokeballs down the cliffside as well - bad, bad move. All she had was this tiny little Eevee runt. He was just over a month old - legally allowed to be entered into League matches, but to her knowledge he didn't know what any attacks were, unless he had paid attention to his father battling. "Uh, s-stay away from me. I have powerful pokemon. I'll... we'll destroy you!" she said to the approaching shape, pulling Tryce out of her pocket to cradle. "I promise you, you've never seen power like this before!" At that very moment, a huge bellowing roar echoed from inside the cave beside her, and she winced. "Dammit." |

There it was, the very reason why Jayden avoided caves. Well, whatever produced that roar wasn't actually the reason, but it was the current representative what the Wanderer was trying to avoid: trouble. "Ai, be careful!" Jayden ordered as he ducked into his tent, grabbed his bag, and quickly returned the Swinub to its Poke Ball. If he had to go into that cave, then he wasn't going to leave his inexperienced Pokemon behind. "Adel, come here! Azel, find Ari and Aran- make sure they're safe!" At his words, the two Water-types split up, one to return to the trainer and the other to search for the missing team members. With this done, the young adult then made his way over to the cave entrance to check on his Aipom and the female trainer that wandered inside. "Ai! Where are you?" He demanded as he ran as quickly as he could, though not before scooping Adel into his arms so the Poliwag wouldn't have to run after him. Ai, meanwhile, had paused when Kitty threatened to use Pokemon that were quite powerful. He was about to disregard this statement and continue approaching anyway when he abruptly heard the roar of something mighty. Now he was convinced that this girl had a powerful Pokemon with her, and now the Aipom started to back away. Except he managed to back straight into his trainer who scowled fiercely down at him. "I told you not to enter, Ai." Jayden admonished as the Aipom scampered up his leg, and then onto his back so that the Pokemon's head peeked out from behind Jayden's shoulder. "Call off our Pokemon, please." Jayden requested as the Aipom gestured to the darkness of the cave and then pointed at Kitty. While all of this happened, Azel easily found Aran and Ari. The Pokemon was quick to steal Ari's attention and inform both team members that there was trouble up in the cave. Magnemite and Skitty glanced at one another before the Magnet Pokemon hurried back up and the Kitten informed Rocky that he was leaving. With everything said, the Skitty then turned to chase after his friend back up to where camp was. |

Rocky's ears pricked at the sudden arrival and leaving of the Skitty, and though he no longer saw the creature and its companions as a threat, he wasn't going anywhere other than right there with his kits. He yipped loudly up to Kitty to let her know that he was all good down there and that if anything happened to Tryce he would rip her, lovingly, limb from limb. Kitty heard one of Rocky's sharp barks from down the cliff face and took it to mean a sort of good luck, though he couldn't move to join her. "Thanks, buddy," she muttered under her breath as she backed out of the cave's entrance, to join the other trainer. "You think that thing in there's mine?" she repeated, just to check before she started to snort. "No, I'm afraid I was just bluffing. Whatever the hell that thing is, all I have to face it is this month old Eevee kit." She brandished Tryce to show she was telling the truth. He sneezed from the cold. There was the sound of twigs - or old bones - snapping as the cave's owner lumbered out into the semi light of day. Kitty had to blink a couple of times before she realised just what they were faced with. It was a huge - enormous, in fact - gnarled, pale Raticate. It clicked its teeth together angrily, and spun around its tail to smack Kitty in the legs as warning. She leapt over it just in time and scrambled backwards so that she was next to the boy. "Ok, now would be the time when you tell me your pokemon are terrifying and destructive." |

When Kitty admitted that all she had was that baby Eevee, Jayden actually felt relieved. That was, of course, until he remembered that horrid bellow from earlier. Just before he could ask about that, the source of the threatening growl revealed itself to be a rather overgrown Raticate, and suddenly Jayden wished he really was only dealing with a trainer-owned Pokemon. "Uh..." The Wanderer managed as he stepped back to avoid any possibilities of the Raticate leaping at him. "My companions are more harmless than they are terrifying." Almost as if to emphasize his point, Ari and the others appeared only for the Skitty to mewl pitifully at the sight. Clearly the Kitten was less than eager to challenge that terrifying rat, though Azel seemed perfectly content with the challenge. As the Staryu took its place before the two trainers in order to defend them, Aran sent a Thunder Wave at the Raticate in warning. As a gentleman, it was the Magnemite's duty to protect the distressed and vulnerable. "Careful guys," Jayden murmured to his team as his features habitually produced a fierce glare and viscous scowl. "Surround it with Bubblebeam, then if it gets wet, ThunderShock it." Honestly, Ai was actually impressed with his trainer. This was one of those rare times when the Wanderer actually sounded like a trainer and appeared to really know what he was doing. The moment would be ruined, however, the moment Adel found it to be too interesting to resist taking part in. The Aipom was keenly aware that the young adult was clueless about what Poliwags could do. While Ai thought about this, Azel went straight to work with producing a beam of bubbles. If it was lucky, then the Raticate would find its path blocked by the stream of bubbles, for Azel decided to produce a Bubblebeam from left to right, and the rat wouldn't try to jump over the many bubbles. In case this happened though, it would be up to Aran to react fast enough to shock the wild Pokemon. |

The Raticate was hit squarely first by the electric attack and then by the stream of bubbles. Kitty stopped backing away and then tilted her head in confusion, looking at the creature as if for the first time. Its eyes were milky and fixed on the area just behind her, and the skin around them puffy. "Subterranean blindness," she said, "just like Sol." She turned to the boy with a small smile on her face. "This shouldn't be too difficult, actually. That thing's been living in the darkness for so long that it can't see." With newfound confidence, she watched as the boy's pokemon took the thing down. However, the Raticate had other ideas. As its fur began to get wetter from the bubbles, it attempted to slam its entire - formidable - body weight into the Staryu with a reckless Double Edge, then just as Aran was about to shock its now dripping fur, it attempted to slam an unrestrained Sucker Punch into the Steel type's core. Seeing this display of strength and brutality, Kitty swallowed. It may be blind, but it was strong enough to make up for it, if it ever actually hit. |

It was a surprise to hear that the Raticate was actually blind, though it seemed that wouldn't stop it from finding Jayden's Pokemon. "All the more dangerous," The young adult replied quietly as his fierce eyes took in the battle in as professional of a manner as he could. "They'll be stronger and more determined than most; personal experience." He grimaced slightly at the memory of the last gang fight he had taken part in. Even though the Bubblebeam and Thunder Shock both struck the Raticate the first time, it didn't look like a second stroke of luck was going to happen. As it was, Azel was now stuck under the Raticate because of its reckless Double-Edge attack, and Aran had just taken the Sucker Punch. At least the Magnemite was fine after the hit though, and it also managed to let loose another Thunder Shock anyway. Jayden didn't recognize the attack, Sucker Punch, but it didn't seem to be very effective against his Magnet Pokemon so that was perfectly fine with him. Azel's position, however, proved to be a problem. As long as the Raticate didn't try to move, his Staryu would be hit by the electric attack and damaged more than the Normal-type would be. He knew there was a way for the overly bright Staryu to escape; he just couldn't think of it. Without daring to think about it, he decided to just say a command and see if it worked. "Power Gem!" Power Gem; what in the world was Power Gem? It wasn't until Azel let loose a sparkling ray of power that the young man recalled the attack. So much time had passed since he last saw the attack that he almost completely forgot about it. |

Kitty looked on at the battle helplessly, holding her squirming Eevee in her arms. "Why are you struggling so much?" she finally asked, looking down at Tryce, and realising again just how tiny he was in comparison even to his siblings. She frowned deeply. "You want to battle, don't you?" He squeaked adamantly, trying to escape her tight grip. "Well you can't! You're tiny!" She continued to watch the battle, wondering if there was any way that she could help without putting Tryce's little life in danger. Then her eyebrows raised a little. An idea. He didn't have to actually get in harm's way to help with his attacks. Now, Sand Attack was useless against a blind opponent, but...there was a perfect solution. "Tryce, you want to help?" The kit mewled desperately. She sighed. "Ok, Helping Hand on both of those pokemon, you understand? Do you know what Helping Hand is?" She wasn't even sure how much English the kit understood at this point, being less than half a year old. However, he went stiff on hearing her commands and his ears twitched as he stared at the battle. She shrugged, assuming that he hadn't been able to follow through, but after a moment a ripple of noticeable blue energy ripped from his small body and smashed into Azel. After another moment an identical pulse of energy collided with Aran. Their subsequent attacks on the Raticate were therefore powered up, though Kitty wouldn't know just how significantly. Uncomfortable but not too badly hurt, even after the two powered up attacks, the Raticate turned around to attempt to smack the Magnemite away with its thick powerful tail, not hoping to cause any damage but wanting the sparky ball of metal pain to get further away from it. It then sniffed about for the Staryu, and attempted to clamp its jaws hard around it with Super Fang. |

It seemed none of the attacks were really fazing the wild Pokemon, though Kitty's idea of having the little Eevee use Helping Hand gave Jayden an idea as well. The thought would have to wait however, for his Staryu was in genuine trouble while the Magnemite appeared to blink in surprise when it was smacked away by the Raticate's tail. If that Super Fang harmed Azel, then there was a good chance the Pokemon would never forgive him and he would lose a valuable friend. "Smaller, get smaller!" Jayden cried out desperately as he clenched his fists. Of course he had to forget that the move he wanted was called Minimize. Still, the Star Shaped Pokemon understood what he wanted and suddenly shrunk considerably in size. Upon shrinking, the Pokemon also attempted to Camouflage itself with its surroundings and, consequently, became a Rock-type. While the Staryu attempted all of this with hopes of being fast enough, Aran proved quite indignant about being hit by that unkempt creature's tail. Disgusting, as far as the gentleman of a Magnemite was concerned. Because of this, the Magnet Pokemon took a moment to focus on the Raticate so it could Lock-On, and then dared to fire an electric blue Thunder Wave at the rat. "Ari," Jayden murmured to the Skitty that hid pitifully behind his leg. "Why don't you give them a Helping Hand too?" The Skitty, after peering up at him for a moment, mewled softly and nodded. Tail suddenly up and waving, a soft pink aura surrounded Ari and was then waved away when the tail gestured toward Aran, and then Azel. Now the next attack both battlers used would be stronger. |

As the Raticate was busy snarling and dealing with the two pokemon in its face, Kitty stared more at Tryce, who was still struggling to get out of her arms and join the fray. "Ok," she said, uncertainly at first, setting him down. "But if you get hurt, even a graze, you're never battling again, so you be careful. Do you understand me?" Tryce twitched his ear, perhaps in understanding, perhaps not. Kitty chewed her lip. "Alright, then. Use Growl and then Tail Whip." She was allowing him to get a little closer, but there was to be no actual contact yet, especially not with this ruthless leviathan. The tiny Eevee rushed forwards with more happiness and enthusiasm than Kitty had ever seen a pokemon display, and it melted her heart a little, but she still fully intended to recall him (though he had no ball) when he had finished the two attacks. He could have a taste of battle, but no danger. Yet. The Raticate vibrated with the force of the Thunder Wave, and its limbs became very sluggish and heavy. The Staryu's attempts to hide itself made no difference to the scent-oriented pokemon, and its head jerked towards the now tiny starfish with Crunch, and then it stomped towards the Magnemite with a Hyper Fang just for Aran. |

Even if the Minimize was a failure, it at least gave the Pokemon wiggling room. Granted, the Crunch probably weakened Azel to the point of barely hanging on, but at least there was a chance to escape. With conditions like this, Jayden felt he could somewhat relax, though a thought was prodding the back of his mind. "Another Power Gem, Azel." The words came out before he could even register what the idea was. Now that Azel was a Rock Pokemon, the attack had a boost in power which was, thanks to Ari, further increased due to a Helping Hand. Whether or not this bothered the Raticate though, Azel would then attempt to shrink further until, at last, the Pokemon would be able to move away from the blind creature. It helped that the rat was distracted with trying to Hyper Fang Aran. Aran who, at the time, saw this coming and knew without a shadow of a doubt that trouble was approaching. In its surprise, the Pokemon let out a Screech and attempted to ascend until it was only a few centimeters from the ceiling. If it did manage to escape, then the Pokemon would stay up there until ordered to close the gap. If not, then there was a good chance the Pokemon had been dragged to the ground. |

The Raticate was very nearly knocked off of its feet by the powered up Power Gem from underneath it, but managed to keep its balance with its oversized tail. It shook itself off, but the damage it had taken was obvious. It lashed out blindly with teeth and claws now, clearly panicking but not backing down. Luckily, and much to Kitty's relief, it didn't seem to have noticed the tiny creature that was diligently Tail Whipping and Growling away at its feet, but far enough away that he wouldn't be hit by a stray swiping tail. It looked as though the Raticate would keel over at any moment, it just needed a real push. Kitty bit her lip. Did she dare? "Let's all attack at the same time," she suggested brightly to the boy. "Tryce, do you want to try using Tackle?" The Eevee yipped loudly with pure excitement and she giggled. "When the other two attack, you go for it. Give it your all, ok?" |

If they all attacked together, then Jayden would have to be careful which attacks he chose for both of his Pokemon. Because Aran apparently managed to escape the Raticate's attack, the Pokemon was in a good position to focus his attack on the wild vermin. "Right." He nodded in acceptance before he decided to give out orders. "Aran, make sure you've Locked On, then use SonicBoom." Surprisingly enough, it felt good to actually know one of the many attacks his Magnemite was capable of. It felt especially good when he figured he knew most of his Staryu's attacks, too. "Swift, Azel." With that attack, he was confident that the little Eevee wouldn't be struck, for the attack was supposed to known not to miss its target. Now, with both Pokemon prepared, Aran let out an abrupt SonicBoom and waited to see how the Raticate liked those sound waves. While the Magnet Pokemon did this, Azel jumped up, body faintly glowing, and started spinning in place to produce a good number of glowing Swift stars aimed at the Raticate. Hopefully, with the Eevee's Tackle, these attacks would be enough so Azel could get some rest. |

The Raticate let out a shrieking squeal as three simultaneous attacks hit it from all angles; clearly it hadn't known that it was being attacked by that many sources. The Tackle hit it on the leg, and wouldn't have been too much bother if it hadn't been for the star-shaped energy projectiles that slammed into it at the same time, and the pure sound energy that the Sonicboom shot into it as well. With a disgruntled huff, it turned rapidly and ran squeaking into the bowels of the cave, surely never to venture out to the surface again. However, in its hurry to leave its tail whipped around - exactly what Kitty had been scared of - and smacked into Tryce to send him flying, threatening to smack the other two pokemon as well. Kitty reacted quickly, with a gasp, and ran forwards to catch the tiny Eevee. She wasn't going to make it. But still, she ran, almost tripping over her own feet as she repeated to herself that this was her fault, her fault, her fault if he got hurt. No, it was too late, he was too far away. She couldn't bear to look as he came crashing down on the hard stone floor, but there was no noise of discomfort; nothing. Kitty dared to peek, and to her absolute surprise, there was not just one Eevee, but two. A much larger one had caught Tryce in its mouth. Her first thought was Rocky, but no. This Eevee had a dirty pink ribbon clipped to her ear, and she was podgy from carrying seven kits in her stomach for so long. "Sandie, you're back!" Kitty cried, rushing to her. "I thought you were dead!" ((Dun dun DUN!)) |

The Raticate had fled! Letting out a breath of relief, Jayden dropped to his knees and let Adel, the Poliwag he forgot he held in his arms, down to return to Azel's side. Ari, meanwhile, peered curiously at the sudden arrival of this Sandie. The larger Eevee was clearly female, any Pokemon could tell even without the ribbon, and must have been that little one's mother. A family reunion, it seemed to Ari, if Kitty's reaction was anything to go by. Once Azel was helped by Adel to return to Jayden, Aran finally lowered itself to hover over the trainer's head, buzzing with concern. "I'm sorry, Azel, I'm sorry." The Wanderer murmured, his eyes narrowed frightfully as he tried to hold back his anguish. This was the second time his Staryu was so hurt in a battle, and this was the second time he felt like rubbish. Still, the Star Shaped Pokemon leaned against him affectionately before its gem took on a soft glow. Slowly Azel's injuries faded until, at last, the Pokemon felt like it had enough energy to dismiss itself into its own Poke Ball. It used Recover, though Jayden didn't seem to know about the move or understand what just happened. In his misunderstanding of what the glow meant, the guy lowered his head in shame. "You deserve a real trainer; all of you do." As if in protest to this, the Staryu whispered a word softly and shook itself. After doing this, the Pokemon then returned to its Poke Ball to leave the others with the task of cheering up their hopeless Wanderer. One of these days they were going to finally convince the guy that he was a real trainer to them. Aran, being the gentleman that it was, gently informed its trainer of all the times they did well in battle. It didn't matter that this particular battle was a particularly difficult one; what mattered was that they survived it. Of course, Aran being Aran, it was completely oblivious that its trainer didn't understand a word it said. Still, a ghost of a smile touched the Wanderer's lips because the Magnemite looked so happy to be with him. As for Ari, he purred insistently. Even when Jayden stroked the Kitten's back, the loving Skitty demanded more attention and rubbed against his leg. No one gave Ari attention the way Jayden gave him attention. The kid really knew how to please a Skitty. Finally, after Ai explained to Adel how Jayden had self-esteem problems, the little Poliwag waddled right up to the trainer and leaped back into the youth's arms. While Adel did so, Ai strode over and grinned up at him. Here was the majority of his Pokemon team; here, his friends were telling him just how much they appreciated his efforts and loved him, even if not all of them had the chance to battle yet. Shaking his head, Jayden could only manage a weak "You guys." before, one by one, each Pokemon returned to its Poke Ball. Ai, of course, was the exception, and the Aipom chose then to return to its perch on Jayden's shoulders. Now that the Wanderer was feeling slightly better despite still beating himself up for what happened, Jayden turned his attention to Kitty and the two Eevee. "Is she your Eevee too?" |

Kitty blinked back tears of guilt, but the feeling kept crashing over her again and again, it was almost too much to bear. "I'm sorry," she managed to choke. "I'm so sorry. I did come after you, but it was so dangerous. It was too... and the babies were too young, they don't have pokeballs. They were going to get hurt. I hoped that you... and you did! You're here, you escaped." As she was met by the cold, hard glare of the mother Eevee she felt like she was going to throw up. Never before had she so desperately wished she could understand pokemon. How did Sandie feel about the whole thing? But a curious thing had happened through Kitty's speech. The Eevee's eyes had shifted on over to the lovely display the boy and his pokemon were showing. Kitty tried to get the attention back onto her. "I'm taking care of them the best I can. I'd been feeding Tryce anyway because you wouldn't," she hastily, maybe a little too snappily, added. "They're fine-" She nearly added 'without you' but it was too cruel and she bit her tongue. Was it possible that she was actually angry at the female Eevee? For what? Abandoning her with seven kits? Maybe a little at first, but that wasn't it now. It was more like... she was angry with her for coming back. Kitty had raised these Eevee babies on her own, and now Sandie could waltz back in and be their favourite again. She swallowed. She was shaking with such a mixture of emotion. "I'm glad you found us, though," she said. It was around here that she had lost her, anyway. Why had she returned to this place? "We're about to go on a hard journey. We need all the help we can get," she said tersely, arms folded. Sandie continued to ignore her, staring at the boy and his Aipom. Kitty had forgotten he was there, and turned around to look at him as well. |

Jayden didn't know why, but suddenly he felt awkward. It couldn't have been the fact that he had sat there, listened to that entire speech by Kitty, and thought that he had serious problems. His problem of not being a good enough person to his Pokemon, that he would never be the trainer his Pokemon deserved, didn't look at important as Kitty's problem seemed. Seriously, the girl had just reunited with the mother of seven kits. The very fact that Kitty had to take care of all seven sounded like a hardship all on its own, but there was something odd about the way the female trainer spoke about the Pokemon. Jayden couldn't place his finger on it, but he felt like there was more to be said than what already was. His train of thought ended there however, for suddenly he realized that all eyes were on him. Feeling as though he was in trouble for having sat there and intruded on such a momentous reunion, Jayden subconsciously placed a hand on Ai's head and felt a bit relieved when the Aipom's tail patted his hand in reassurance. "I don't mean to be distracting." The Wanderer announced a little louder than he would normally have spoken. Still, despite this raise in volume, his voice was still soft and just audible enough for Kitty to hear. "She's a lovely Eevee." He awkwardly added, though he genuinely meant it. If he had one, then he would have offered to replace Sandie's little ribbon with a fresh one. As he thought about this though, he somewhat recalled Aran's interest in a small patch of flowers out near where he set up his tent. "There are flowers outside near my tent," He heard himself announce; it was, perhaps, one of the oddest statements he ever told a person. "Until we find a way to freshen up that ribbon, maybe we can replace it with a flower?" The Wanderer didn't realize it immediately, but he definitely said "we," as if he was actually part of this adventure that Kitty mentioned. Of course, in his mind, he was only trying to soften up some tension that he was sure was his fault. |
