The sun had once again cheated Aria out of daylight, and she had just made her way out of the Forest of Atra when it disappeared beyond the horizon. She was rushing, still worried about the fainted pikachu in its pokéball and her charmander that had to be exhausted from the trip. She jogged onto the main stretch of road, passing a small sign that said "Brevis Village", and quickly scanned the buildings for any sign of a Pokémon Center. Down the street a ways on her right, a small structure with a red sign caught her attention, and she headed that way. "Phew! It's a good thing Pokémon Center's are practically everywhere!" Aria said aloud, and walked through the doors at the front of the building. The waiting room was rather small, but looked clean like a hospital should. Luckily it was late, and the only other person waiting was an elderly man who was nodding off in his chair. Straight ahead was a counter and a middle-aged receptionist, who had short, tangled brown hair and dark blue eyes. "Sorry it's so late, but... Could you please take care of my pokémon? One is fainted and I think Tyke just needs a good rest." Aria asked the woman as politely as possible, still shaken as if her pokémon might not make it. "Sure," the woman replied, and held out her hands towards Tyke. "C'mere little guy," she said, and Aria handed over her charmander willingly. The woman positioned Tyke on her hip like a toddler, and then with her free hand, took the pokéball Aria was already holding out to her. "Have a seat, we'll have the nurse check them out in just a moment." the woman said, and disappeared into the back behind swinging doors. Aria slowly took a seat, sulking. A few minutes went by, and Aria found herself counting the ticking sounds of the hospital's clock on the wall above her. How long did it take to heal a pokémon anyway? Was her pikachu really in that bad of shape? She tapped her fingers on the armrests of the chair, impatiently. After what seemed like hours, but was actually only 5 minutes, the nurse appeared through the doors with Tyke in her arms and the pikachu waddling behind her. Aria jumped to her feet, and opened up her arms. "Tyke!" she said excitedly, and Tyke jumped down from the nurses arms and trotted over to Aria's arms. Aria scooped him up, gave him a tight squeeze, and then set him back down. Then her focus turned to her new friend, who was hiding shyly behind the nurse's leg. "Hey there, Pikachu." Aria said softly, holding out her hand. The pikachu peeked from behind the nurses leg. "Pikaaa..." the Pikachu seemed to sigh, as if it really didn't want to join Aria. Aria sighed, dropped her hand, and pulled out the Pikachu's pokéball. "Well my name is Aria, and this is my buddy Tyke. I'd like to give you a nickname as well, if you don't mind. Why don't you rest some more? I'll find a peaceful place to let you back out and get to know you. Okay?" She offered, and the Pikachu stepped out from behind the nurse. It stepped forward and touched the pokéball with its little hand. The pokéball engulfed him, and Aria placed it back on her belt. "Thank you for everything, Nurse." Aria said, grinning widely. "Take care!" the nurse replied. Aria turned towards the door, and headed back out into the moonlight, with Tyke on her heels. Edited by Aria, Aug 12 2012, 07:26 AM.
