| Not another bunch of jerks...; Umbra is at it again, hurting pokemon for its own good. Well, Liz isn't going to stand around and let that happen. | |

Liz walked up to the lake side, smiling as she saw water pokemon leap out of the water and other wild pokemon playing around it. It would be a perfect place to train Acorn for the upcoming battle. Fluffy walked by her side and Acorn sat happily on her shoulder as they looked around for some pokemon to train with. Suddenly, however, Fluffy's ears pricked up and he turned. Liz followed his gaze around the same time she heard a high pitched cry from a pokemon. "Siiiiir!" Liz's eyes widened and she narrowed her eyes, running towards the sound as Fluffy bristled and growled, bolting forward. Both trainer and pokemon burst through the bushes at the same time, only to see two Umbran Grunts kicking at a young Sirskit as they held a vial to its head. "Come on, pathetic bug! Let us have your syrupy stuff!" The first grunt said, kicking it again as it stubbornly refused to give it. It cried out again, but this time it was weaker. Liz snarled at them. "You stupid jerks! Step away from the poor Surskit! If you really wanted the syrup you could be nice and coax it out of her! But no, you're just a bunch of mean, sadistic thugs! Seed Bomb, Acorn! It's time to do some target practice!" Liz commanded her pokemon, and he shook, infuriated that they'd hurt a fellow pokemon, and then he began to glow green. He jumped up slightly and gave a cute little twirl, and then he shot out with a large Seed Bomb, which connected squarely with the Grunt's head, the seed shattering on impact and knocking the jerk flat on his bum, unconscious. The other Grunt's eyes widened in anger and he stormed over to Liz while the Surskit trembled under the net she was in, eyes fixed on Liz. Acorn immediately shot out with another Seed Bomb and hit him square in the nose, breaking it on impact. He screamed out, holding it as blood began to seep through his fingers. He growled. "You think you can just...mess with Umbra? You're wrong, twerp!" He gurgled out through the blood seeping down to his mouth. It was pretty gross to tell you the truth. The man grabbed a pokeball and threw it towards Liz. It was obviously his only one, for it was the only pokeball on his belt. Out of it emerged a normal, though poorly cared for by the looks of it, Bidoof. Liz laughed out loud, nodding to Acorn. "Ready for this, Buddy?" She asked as Acorn chuckled with her upon seeing the derpy pokemon. Acorn nodded, sobering up, and turned to glare at the pokemon. He froze for a second, glinting silver as he hyped up his defense with a Harden attack, and then he jumped off of Liz's shoulders, rolling to a stop in front of the Bidoof and immediately shooting a Seed Bomb at its face. The Bidoof flew back, wailing out in pain as it rubbed its nose. It then curled up into a Defense Curl and Acorn just stood there, like 'What? Y-you're just gonna lay there? You wimp!' Acorn steemed, shaking and closing his eyes, building up energy in a Bide as the Bidoof cowered. When the Bidoof finally stood up and gave a weak Tackle, Acorn snapped his eyes open and unleashed his Bide attack, slamming into the Bidoof and sending it skidding back, grimacing. It then ran at him and Headbutted Acorn into a tree, making it Acorn's turn to grimace in pain, though it was significantly less due to his Harden. Acorn then shot two successive Seed Bombs, successfully KO'ing the Bidoof. Acorn smirked and gave the best thumbs up to Liz a Seedot could give. The Umbran Grunt angrily returned his Bidoof and ran to grab his friend, dragging him away and stumbling with pain and blood loss. Liz didn't notice then, but the Umbran dropped something on the ground. Eh, she'd see it later. Liz smiled, high-fiving Acorn. "Good job, buddy." She said, returning him after patting his head and then walking to the poor Surskit, crouching down. Fluffy walked up beside her and nosed the net. The poor pond skater was trembling all over, and when Liz reached out to help it from the net it flailed, striking Liz in the hand and making her pull it back, sharply in-taking breath. "Dern, that hurt..." she muttered. Seeing as the poor thing was too hurt and scared to let Liz help, she had an idea. "Fluffy, talk to the Surskit so I can help her out and give her an Oran Berry." she said softly, nodding at the Surskit. Fluffy nodded almost imperceptibly and padded up to the Surskit as she flailed. Fluffy's eyes locked onto the Surskit, and he calmly spoke to the struggling pokemon. Because she hadn't caught what Fluffy was doing, the water skidder-like pokemon looked at Fluffy's eyes and slowly stopped struggling. It listened slightly, but it seemed the pokemon was so weak she could barely stay conscious. It continued struggling, ignoring Fluffy; however, after it struggled as much as possible its strength left and it finally passed out. How much had those Grunts injured it? When it was completely still, Liz gently disentangled the net from her and lifted her into her arms. She was much the same size as Acorn, but her legs were long and thin. She did smell sweet, and she figured that the syrup they were talking about was emitted when the pokemon was in fear. Those dern jerks. Liz walked with Fluffy following her to a small puddle in the shade, where Liz laid down the Surskit. She reached into her satchel and brought out her last Oran Berry, which she broke in half and waited for the Surskit to wake up. She set the two berry halves on the ground and gently shook the Surskit awake. She blinked open her little eyes and looked up at Liz, instantly turning rigid. She then glanced around and saw Fluffy, who she glared at for putting her to sleep. She then realized that she was out of the net, in a small puddle of water, being patted by a woman, and about to be fed an Oran Berry. She looked up at the girl, Liz, with a perplexed face, like 'Why would you be nice? You're a human. Those humans were mean to me.' Liz smiled, then nodded at Fluffy. Fluffy rolled his eyes and stepped up, using his psychic-ness as well as speaking in poke-talk to explain that not all humans were alike, and his trainer was only trying to help. He then lapsed into the story of how Liz had saved him once, and then spent so much time building him up, encouraging him, and training him to be stronger. The Surskit blinked, glancing from Liz to Fluffy. It then backed up slightly, still unsure. Liz then picked up the Oran Berry half and offered it to the Surskit. It blinked and slowly leaned closer, then took a bite of the berry. Both Liz and Fluffy chuckled in amusement as the juices seeped down the Surskit's face and she gave out a bug-ish purr, gobbling up the rest and looking around for more. Liz smiled and handed her the other half. "Sorry, this is all I have. I can get more at the store, though! What do you say, would you like to come with me so I can protect you from those mean Umbrans?" Liz said as the Surskit nommed on the other half of the Oran Berry. The Surskit blinked up at Liz again, perplexed, then looked to Fluffy for a translation, which he readily gave. At the mention of more berries, the Pond Skater pokemon nodded its head eagerly, smiling (without, like, visible lips.) Liz smiled with Fluffy and then reached into her bag for a pokeball. She felt around inside and suddenly froze, face-palming. She had no pokeballs. Then she looked over to where the Umbrans had been and saw that one of them had dropped a pokeball, probably the one they were going to catch the Surskit in, which made Liz wonder why they trapped and tortured it. Liz's eyes lit up and she rushed over, scooping up the pokeball and offering it to the Surskit, who used one of her four little legs and pressed the button, getting sucked in with a flash of light. Liz then let the Surskit back out and she climbed up onto her shoulder, one of her thin legs on the back of Liz's head to position herself. Liz's grin widened and she motioned for Fluffy to follow her, pocketing the pokeball in her satchel. Liz walked back through the small forest towards the nearest town, where she could buy berries for her Surskit and Fluffy. It had been a good day, and she felt happy that she'd exacted justice on some evil Umbrans. Plus, she had a new friend! Who knew what else Liz would run into on her pokemon journey. She'd just have to keep moving on to find out. Edited by Lizard, Aug 2 2012, 04:42 PM.

She waited for the Surskit to wake up by shaking it so it would wake up, right /shot Anyway, Surskit....Right, approved capture. No BP for Acorn, tho. That was what, a paragraph for the battle? Sorry, nope. Actually, really, you should be less rushed about those things and make a long nice battle next time =P You're an awesome writer so I know you can, but you're making too much fast-paced stuff lately xP And next time if you don't have a pokeball, don't expect me to let slide you writing one into existance like that. I'll let now because you don't have enough to buy more, but there be the warning *nod nod* Enjoy the surskit for now, tho |
