Hikari had been wandering around Conifer, wondering what her next contest pokemon should be, when she saw a pokemon magazine someone had thrown away. On the cover was a smiling trainer with a Pikachu and...what was that? There was a cute little blue and white pokemon that was round and....THAT WAS SO ADORABLE! Hikari nearly squealed on the spot, picking up the magazine and rushing over to the closest person she could see, which was a young lady walking a Zigzagoon. "Ma'am! Do you know where I could find this pokemon?" She asked sweetly, blinking up with her wide, shining eyes. The lady smiled warmly, taking the magazine and examining the picture. "Why, that's a Spheal, my dear. They're ice pokemon, so they'd probably like to hang around the Frozen Lake, in Tsunamine's Prong. Are you sure you're old enough to be traipsing around in dangerous places, though?" the lady asked, concerned. Hikari thought for a second, tilting her head and tapping her finger on her chin. "Hmmm....nope!" She squeaked, then ran off to find the nearest Dragonite Flight pick up. Once she was dropped off in Tsunamine's Prong, she walked in search of any frozen body of water. After walking through the trees for a while, too excited to register any of the wild pokemon looking at her, she emerged in a small clearing. She saw a large lake, and a little ways off she saw a frozen pond. A large smile lit her face and she ran for the body of frozen water. What luck! However, once she got there, she looked around and saw no Speals, only a few Cubchoos skating around on the ice. She plopped down on the grass, disappointed. She watched the small pokemon skate around, and she eventually drifted into a small, peaceful slumber, slumped down beside a boulder. |

"Leeo~?" Time passed after Hikari went to sleep; the frozen lake seemed to keep the same without the moving little girl; though, a curious pair of eyes suddenly plopped through a hole on the ice on the other side of the lake. The creature pushed itself upwards, on the ice, and slidded towards the sleeping girl with a curious look. If Hikari were still aware of her surroundings, she would probably feel her shoulder being poked repeatedly, as if something was examining her. The touch would also be from a creature that just came out of the water, so it would be soaking wet, too, which would most likely wet the girl's shoulder as well. Then without a warning, had Hikari waken up or not, the thing would press its nose under the girl and raise her, starting to throw the child up and down, catching Hikari again. By this time it was pretty clear; if she wasn't too busy catapulting out of her sleep and freaking out, she would probably notice the Sealeo playing ball with her, ballancing the small human on the top of its nose. It was pretty large, and that was the reason why it would be done at all. "Seleoleo~" It cried out, having fun, trying to see if it could roll Hikari on the spot, but apparently not meaning at harm. |

Hikari woke with a start upon feeling her shoulder get poked, as well as get soaking wet and cold. She'd then scream upon being lifted and thrown up into the air, having no idea what was going on and becoming on the verge of tears. "Wh...what's going on?" She wailed, her eleven year old brain not being able to process that she was being played with. As Hikari stopped bouncing and was being balanced, Hikari wiggled around and got out Poffin's pokeball, releasing her onto the ice where she emerged, slipping and spinning around with pathetic mewls. Hikari would have giggled had she not been so terrified. "P...poffin!" She cried, tears springing to life from her eyes as her lips quivered. "Help me!" Poffin, however, was too busy trying to keep its balance and stop slipping around. It was impossible for the kitty to attack or be of any help in this state. Hikari closed her eyes and shook her head. "Put me down, please!" |

Sealeo looked puzzled, still ballancing Hikari on its nose. The sea lion did stop trying to spin the little girl, though, and just stood with her ballanced neatly onto its nose. From the spot where the Sealeo emmerged, a small Spheal was watching the scene, clapping amusedly (Somehow, it didn't get out of the water, and still managed to clap. Odd.) at the show. Sealeo, though, slowly lowered Hikari to the ground, noticing that the human, for some reason, was scared. "Selealeo~" It mumbled, poking Hikari with its nose with curiosity for a moment, before leaving the human be. It would have slipped back in the water right then, if it wasn't for Poffin skidding around. Sealeo skidded towards the kitty, sniffing at it and cautiously poking Poffin with its nose. It gave the kitty a couple seconds to know that no harm would be done, before doing the same with her, throwing Poffin upwards and ballancing her on its nose. On the other side of the lake, Spheal clapped, making a series of laugh-like noises that could be a cheer or just plain laughter. |

Hikari sniffled when the Sealeo finally put her down, and she blinked over at Poffin as she was picked up as well. Poffin, however, liked the idea of playing and meowed in delight as she was thrown up into the air. Then Hikari spotted the Spheal clapping and carrying on. Her eyes lit up and she smiled, sitting up and wiping her tears away. She stood up and walked slowly onto the ice, careful with her footing so that she could get closer to the adorable ice pokemon. All of a sudden, however, her foot slipped and she crashed to the ice, landing hard on her rear. The shock made her tear up again, but at least she hadn't broken the ice. Poffin looked up from playing and leaped off of the Sealeo, hopping and slipping on the ice to get to Hikari; however, right as Poffin neared her trainer, the ice made a loud noise and Poffin slid to a stop, both her and Hikari's eyes wide. Hikari fell through the ice, a big crack forming around her as she plummeted into the cold water with a splash. She screamed, water flooding into her mouth as she gurgled, fighting for air. She tried to swim back up, but her foot was caught in some twigs and debris. Her vision swam, cold seeping through her skin. If she didn't drown, she was sure to get sick. Poffin yowled, skidding to the side of the hole she fell in and looking in anguish for help. She meowed in earnest to the Spheal, who was in the water, and motioned to her trainer, who was banging in vain against the ice. Edited by Lizard, Aug 2 2012, 01:12 PM.

Spheal yelped in surprise when the ice under Hikari suddenly snapped, throwing the girl on the ice-cold water. Sealeo, who was watching it all from the sidelines, quickly started to skid towards the hole, ready to try and fish the girl out, when suddenly something hit it in the back of the head. The sea lion pokemon turned back to see, and though it wasn't clear what it was, the Sealeo seemed to recognize it, letting out a menacing Growl and immediatelly turning tail and skidding away, pursuing something. SPheal suddenly saw itself alone; it was hoping the bigger and stronger Sealeo would help, but now that chance was gone. Spheal dove underwater, circling Hikari's body to see what was preventing the girl from going up, and then saw the twigs holding down the girl. At that moment Hikari would probably feel someone lightly munching on her ankles when the Spheal bit down and started to remove the debris from the girl's foot. If Hikari hadn't done anything stupid, Spheal would then bump into her from below, pushing her upwards and wait for the girl to grab the ice and pull herself up again. Which would probably be difficult as hell, seeing as the frozen water would most likely start to make a human body shake like mad. Spheal didn't seem to understand that not every creature couldn't deal with cold, though; its fur always prevented it from feeling cold, after all. |

Poffin slid around the hole, squealing and meowling with her eyes widened in worry. She barely glanced over when the bigger pokemon went away, too worried about her small trainer. "Skitty! Skit!" She meowed, her small mouth dipped in a frown. Hikari struggled in the water as she tried to free her foot, but she only succeeded in spraining her ankle and letting the rest of her air go in small bubbles. Her struggles slowed, so that when the Spheal pushed her up, she gave no struggle. When her head pushed over the surface she painfully drew in lungfuls of air, tears streaming down her face as she coughed out. "P-p-poffin!" She cried, struggling to pull herself up onto the ice as her Skitty leaped onto her head, not helping much, but licking her face and nuzzling her for comfort. Poffin meowed continuously, making sure Hikari was ok as she finally pulled herself off of the ice, coughing and shaking uncontrollably. She sobbed, curling up and cuddling Poffin against her. Poffin licked her hands and face and nuzzled her to warm her up, not minding getting semi-soaked herself. After a while Hikari sneezed, sitting up and warming up slightly in the sunlight. |

As soon as Hikari was back up on the ice, Spheal's head popped out from the water, eyeing the girl. The ball-shaped pokemon then pulled itself to surface, looking at Hikari as if it couldn't understand why the girl was shaking like that. Was she a fire-type human or something like that? While the Spheal looked at Hikari, a small cackling sound started to be heard, as if someone was tapping the ice with something hard. Spheal turned to the side, searching for the font of the sound, when a sudden black blur dashed from behind an ice block, hitting the sea lion right in the gut. With a cry of pain, Spheal was sent rolling, a deep bruise on its chest. As the sudden attacker crackled an amused sound. "Neasel!~" The dark-type slided one claw against another, eyeing the Spheal with a viciously cruel smirk. Now that the big one was away, there would be no harm to batter up some beach balls, and maybe get a dinner if there were eggs around. The Sneasel looked pretty young, but already vicious; its glance went from the Spheal to Hikari, and a cruel grin spread accross its face upon seeing the soaked girl. Sneasel jabbed the ice floor twice with one claw, and a cracking sound was heard around the pond. If Hikari didn't move soon, a crack would soon spread over from the spot where Sneasel hit, going towards the place where the heaviest and closest being was; obviously, that would be Hikari. It would crack and probably drop the girl on water again, but if she didn't freak out and froze, there would be plenty of time to bail from there. Counting that the girl was simply too wimpy to move or do something else than maybe cry and sob, Sneasel looked at Poffin with a look that said you're next. And then it started to move towards the Spheal, readying itself to beat the ball pokemon to a pulp. Clock is ticking and ice is cracking; what to do now? |

Hikari's eyes widened and she skidded backwards, scrambling off of the ice as she saw the Sneasel crack the ice. Her eyes moved to the hurt Spheal and her eyes began to water again. Had that been her fault? She picked up Poffin and moved away from the lake. After setting Poffin down, she faced the Sneasel, still shaking slightly. "Wh-why are you hurting that poor pokemon?" She asked, looking from the Sneasel to the Spheal, who looked to be in pain. "That's...that's not very nice." She commented softly. Poffin looked from her trainer to the Spheal and bristled. She yowled and leaped forward, launching herself at the Sneasel and readying her tail for a ferocious Double Slap. She didn't like it when people made Hikari cry. Then again, what sick creature does like seeing little girls cry? After Poffin attacked, she'd leap off of the Sneasel's head and land on the grass beside the ice where the Spheal was. She'd paw at the pokemon, as if asking if it was ok. She'd then glare threateningly at the Sneasel. Hikari stayed back, hiding behind a boulder while she watched with worry and fear in her eyes. Where had that other big pokemon gone? Edited by Lizard, Aug 4 2012, 11:56 AM.

Sneasel was only about to do what she had always done; it was her species' territory, and every pokemon around knew to run or be beaten whenever it was time for the hunting, but then what the hell there was a cat jumping at her. Sneasel turned her eyes to Poffin as the Skitty leaped at her with a slapping tail. Sneasel snickered, simple putting both claws to her face with the edges to the sides and letting Poffin slap out at her. the claws of a Sneasel were deadly sharp, as it wasnt known as the Sharp Claw pokemon for nothing, so Poffin would probably have gotten some nasty scratches everywhere on her tail. What the cat had to do with anything, in any case? A house pet thing like that shouldn't be around the territory of a competent predator. Sneasel smirked; by now her partner would be taking the Sealeo farther and farther away, so the only thing left was taking care of the small fry, and since the human was just hiding herself, this would be laughably easy. Sneasel immediatelly pushed herself forwards on the ice, skidding through it faster by the second. A vicious smirk appeared on its face as it rapidly approached Poffin and the Spheal, and then Sneasel suddenly vanished, only to reappear at high speed behind Poffin with a Faint Attack, aiming a single slash with its claws the the cat's neck. Meanwhile, Spheal just shouted, frightened, and curled up, ceasing to move. It was using Defense Curl and would most likely stay like that for as long as that frightening Sneasel was around. There was no winning against these pokemon. Edited by Sonny, Aug 4 2012, 12:21 PM.

Poffin cried out, landing on the ground and staring at its scratched up tail. Her beautiful tail! What if she got scars? She'd never do well in contests! That jerk! Poffin growled 'menacingly'. When she was struck with the faint attack she went flying forward, flipping onto the ice and sliding. She then got up, glaring at the Sneasel through her narrow eyes. Her fur puffed up and she swished her tail around in anger. "Skitty! Skit! Skitty!" She yowled, slipping slightly on the ice before dashing forward, or more accurately slipping forward, and jumping back onto the grass. She then disappeared, only to reappear behind the Sneasel to use her own Faint Attack, using the move Copycat. She had no idea what had happened, really, she just went by instinct and used the only move she felt would work. She struck out at the Sneasel before jumping back, eyeing the Spheal with worry. Hikari gasped, shocked that her Skitty knew how to use Faint Attack, for she didn't know about Copycat. She then looked over at the Spheal and frowned. She reached into her pocket and grabbed one of her two empty pokeballs. Maybe if she captured the poor Spheal, she could return Poffin and run. Hikari quickly ran out from behind the boulder, holding up the pokeball while the Sneasel was hopefully distracted. "Spheal! It's ok! We can be friends! Will you come with me so I can save you from being hurt? Please?" She called out, throwing the pokeball. She wasn't sure what would happen, but it was worth a try! |

As soon as Poffin flew forwards, Sneasel snickered, rubbing her claws in a satisfied manner, and turned to finish the job on the Spheal. A claw to the neck wasn't something she thought was survivable, at least not by some pink cat like that. And then a sudden strike to the back sent Sneasel skidding forward, eyes wide in surprise. It hadn't hurt too much, in fact. But she was part of the dominant predators on that area, and now some pet thought they could just go and use her own move against her? No, that was not happening. She'd tear these intruders apart. Sneasel looked back at Poffin, rubbing one claw against another on a sharpening movement, using Hone Claws to make sure the cat wouldn't get up from the next attack. And then, of course, the pint-sized human started to shout. She, too, wouldn't be free from the consequences. Sneasel smirked, and crouched down, waving her arms in Poffin's direction. A fast, chilly wind blew from where the Sneasel was, the Icy Wind making its way towards Poffin. Sneasel's plan was to freeze the cat alive, but first, to make sure that brat didn't snatch her first prey. Sneasel looked at Hikari, but the pokeball was already flying. It hit the Spheal, who was absorved inside of it. Sneasel halted, looking at the scene. The ball shook once, twice, thrice, and a "ping!" came from the device, clearly being heard on the frozen pond. Sneasel looked at Hikari, an absolutely livid expression on the weasel-like pokemon. In a blur of movement, Sneasel vanished, getting even faster with an Agility move, and in the next moment, knocked the pokeball away with her claws. The ball flew upwards, hitting a huge block of ice and snow near the pond, and getting trapped on a small hole. Sneasel, then looked straight at Hikari and shot towards the girl, claws spread wide, trying to cut the girl for daring steal her prey. |

Hikari's eyes widened and she dived into a nearby patch of snow to avoid being killed by the Sneasel. Poffin staggered, chilled to the bone, but she still had the energy to leap at Hikari. Hikari scooped Poffin into her arms, rolled to the side, and made a run for her pokeball. Once Hikari made it to the hole, she found that it was too high up for her to reach, so she lifted Poffin up. Poffin crawled up into the hole and searched for the pokeball, freezing her little tail off, while Hikari turned and kept a fearful eye out for the Sneasel. Poffin rolled the pokeball out, as long as the Sneasel hadn't gotten there yet, and dropped it onto Hikari's head. She winced, grabbing the pokeball, and held in a pained yelp as she rubbed her head. Poffin then leaped down and Hikari caught her before clutching the pokeball and making a run for it. |

Sneasel hissed in surprise as her attack went past the girl, the left claw hitting the ice floor and piercing it immediately. Sneasel stood there, dumbfounded for a moment; she had missed a normal human, even after the precision boost she always felt after sharpening her claws. Who were those people?! "Seal!!" She hissed in anger, though the fierce tone faltered slightly, as the weasel-like pokemon tore her claw out of the ice floor, leaving a spot with no ice. Sneasel turned, seeing both Poffin and Hikari making a run for the pokeball. Sneasel hissed, and went in for a Quick Attack, trying to intercept the duo halfway through. She wasn't fast enough to make it before Poffin got into the hole, but she was allright with only the girl. Sneasel knew these pets wouldn't leave without their human, after all. Approaching Hikari, Sneasel turned, shoving one claw on the ice and did a half-moon turn only some inches away from Hikari, probably ending up behind the girl. Sneasel would try to kick the girl out of the way and then start climbing the ice, towards the hole where she knew Poffin was trapped, probably still with the pokeball. Her movements were actualyl looking desperate; Sneasel's eyes were wide and she was rushing, not doing things well. Even if the kick did conect, Hikari probably wouldn't feel too much of a sharp pain. If Poffin didn't freak out and somehow got out of there, Sneasel would simply blow an Icy Wind at the hole, hoping to trap Poffin in there. She wasn't paying attention to Hikari, though, so maybe if the girl decided to do something... |

While the Sneasel was climbing, Hikari's eyebrows furrowed and she leaped at the Sneasel, attempting to grab it around the waste and pull it back. "Poffin! Run! Take the pokeball and get out of here! I'll find you!" She cried, clutching onto the Sneasel (if she caught it in time) If this worked, Poffin would grab the pokeball somehow and give a little trembly shiver before leaping out of the hole into the cushiony, though super freezing, snow. Supposing the Sneasel wasn't free by then, the Skitty would make a run for the bushes, where she'd find the path Hikari had taken and quickly followed it, hoping her trainer would soon follow. |

"Snea--!" Sneasel's eyes widened when suddenly Hikari's arms clutched around its waist and tried to pull down. Sneasel immediately got pulled down, but the ice type clawed itself to the ice, snarling irritably at Hikari, as if telling the girl to piss off already. Sneasel didn't move or notice at all when Poffin leapt out of the role, too busy ranting at Hikari. The Sneasel lift one claw, ready to go and claw the girl when crack. .... Wait, crack? "Snea--?" Sneasel groaned, looking at the wall of ice, just a moment before a large, large chunk of the ice tore out of the wall. Sneasel's eyes widened, the chunk of ice falling in a way that it would basically smash both the Sneasel and Hikari. Sneasel retracted, covering herself and waited for the block of fiery death smash her. Hikari would probably still be holding into the Sneasel when the ice came off, so maybe she didn't move fast enough and would then be smashed along... ..Except that suddenly the ice divided in two with a sharp sound, each part falling into a different side. Behind it, one claw still raised and a look of anger within eyes, was a Weaville. Sneasel, on the ground or above Hikari, retracted at the sight of the evolution, obviously scared. Weaville lowered its claw and grabbed Sneasel by the neck, growling slightly at the smaller weasel. Weaville would shot a look towards Hikari, measuring her, before looking at Sneasel with an expression that was burning with rage. So she couldn't take care of getting a prey because that was around? Sneasel chattered something, before Weaville threw it to the side, looking at Hikari. For a moment it looked like it would attack, but then an angry growl from somewhere near got its attention. Weaville groaned in annoyance. "Ville" It hissed, before dissapearing in a black blur. Sneasel looked at Hikari, rubbing its claws, considering wiping out the girl in one hit right now, but then also stood up and fled, just as Sealeo burst from the ice, looking around, searching for the weasels that started the whole thing on his territory. There were many scartches on its head and body, which told a story of a fight with the second Sneasel. And a victory, judging by the glow on its eyes as it made sure the area was safe once again. Hikari let go of the Sneasel and cowered when the ice began to fall, but then she looked up and blinked, shaking, when the ice was split to reveal the Weavile. After all was finished and they both left, Hikari pulled herself up, slipping a few times, and scurried off of the ice to safety. She was just about to run after her Skitty when she heard the Sealeo burst from the ice, covered in wounds. Hikari's eyes watered and she leaped at the poor pokemon, hugging it around the neck and kissing it on the nose. "I'm sorry you had to get hurt! And...I'm sorry I got so scared when you wanted to play. Thank you for helping me get that Spheal and protecting us from another mean old Sneasel! Bye! I hope to see you in the future!" She said, scrambling off of the Sealeo's neck and running to find her Skitty. After a bit of running, Poffin came flying out of the bushes and leaped into Hikari's arms. The young girl snuggled her furry friend and took the pokeball from her mouth, putting it into her pocket and returning her Skitty. Later, she'd release them both and thank them for helping her. She'd also get acquainted with her new friend. For now, though, she was going to get the heck out of this place. |

Sealeo poked at Hikari with its nose when the girl suddenly hugged him. The sea lion was on a less playfull mood, but made an exception for the girl. Maybe it couldn't understand too much of what humans said but it could feel the relief of the girl. The sea lion sighed, flopping on the ice and starting to snooze after Hikari ran away, satisfied. If Hikari was to pay attention, she'd notice something cold that got stuck on the space between her shoes and her ankle; it was cold, and if she were to take a look, she would find something that looked like a weirdly-shaped piece of ice. It wasn't melting, though, and had a specially pretty shape (you decide that one later). The NeverMeltIce was probably encaged on that block of ice and got stuck on her after snapping out of it with the impact. What a nice reminder of the adventure~ (ooc: Approved Capture of Spheal) |
