OCC: Feel to jump in, even the mod can do a random encounter to spice things up. With no proper destination in mind but several goals in mind, Allan made his way south of Redwood. Has a new trainer, Allan had one goal in mind at that moment, just before he went out on the road again. Allan heard the lab's door close behind him. Has he walked further south of the lab, he spotted the crossroad on once crossed before. He knew that the first city of this island was close by. Well, the first city he saw. But he didn't want to go there yet. After all, their was some training to be done and he had to get to know his new Pokémon. Also, he had 3 unused Pokéball and the opportunity to find a good Pokémon would surely showed up soon enough. Hmm...I need to focus on one task at ounce. And so, with a determined look on his face, Allan grab the Pokéball that Redwood previously gave him, and with a sharp and accurate throw, let out the Cyndaquil. The Pokémon seem happy to be free at last, has it happily ran around, sniffing the air around him. That's when he noticed he wasn't at the same, usual place, the laboratory. It tilt his head toward Allan. The trainer crouched, before gesturing the Pokémon to come over to him. ''Come here boy. It looks we will have to stick together for now. Unless for some reason, you don't want me has your trainer.'' The Cyndaquil looked behind him, sniffing the air, before he got closer to the trainer, to sniff his hands. Allan didn't know how to react. It was until the Cyndaquil licked his hands with his tongue that Allan finally felt reassure. ''Your a curious one, heh'' said Allan while watching the Cyndaquil move around, sniffing the air while looking everywhere. '''Well, I guess I could find you a name, shouldn't I? How about Ignys?'' The Cyndaquil made a quick, happy cry before charging the unexpected trainer. Allan felled down on his back, laughing has he was lick all over his face by his newly found partner. Once the Pokémon start to calm down a bit and went around Allan, sniffing the air, the trainer took sometimes to gather himself before getting up again. ''Hmm...I wonder if I'll see that Yanma again...or the Murkrow. Anyway, let's find a clearing somewhere inside that forest, before the sun get too low.'' Allan started to walk has Ignis quickly followed him, happy to find a way to use it's endless quantity of energy in a good way. Has the trainer and his Pokémon made their way inside the forest, Allan hunter's instincts started to kick in. His eye's started to spot the little details that any other person could miss. Here and there, he spotted various Caterpie who were doing their own business under the leaves of various trees. A short moment later, and he found the resting place of several Kakuna, who were stuck to a giant tree. ''Better be careful around here, a Beedrill may come out of nowhere to greet us with a few stings.'' muttered Allan to Ignys and motioning for the Pokémon to be quiet. They slowly made their way south of the tree, heading for the limit of the island: the beach. Or least, attempt to find a suitable spot near the water. He wanted to confirm the sighting of a particular Pokémon that he had previously caught a glimpse when he was in the airplane. While avoiding the big tree by slowly walking around it, Allan caught sight of a Mankey, a fighting type Pokémon, who was trying to desperately reach a fruit in the highest branch of a tree, a few meters away from the big tree. He was dangling from branch to branch, trying to reach the fruit with his small hands. Suddenly and without warning, the Mankey slipped on one of the branch, failing down the tree. Allan, along with reflexes and instincts, suddenly move with impressive speed and jump, turning in the air so the back of his whole body would take the fall, to catch the unfortunate Pokémon. Ignys cry when Allan took the fall and went near his master to see if everything was alright. ''Weh, you almost got seriously injured'' said Allan after he landed on the ground, the Mankey body pressed on his stomach, his furry head near Allan's chin. The Pokémon struggle for a bit in the young man's arm, before Allan quickly let it go. ''Man...key...'' said the Mankey while getting himself up and watching the young man's with a neutral expression. The Pokémon apparently didn't how to feel, or at least, that's what Allan noticed. Mankey...oh yeah, those are lunatics. I wonder if he his hesitating between beating the crap out of me or ...I dunno. I can only picture him being angry. Deep in his thoughts, Allan didn't realize that the Mankey was at the foot of the tree, watching intently his soon to be diner, the fruit. After gathering himself and getting up, Allan took notice of the Mankey's behaviour. He could see the desire in the Mankey eyes. ''Well, what do you think Ignys? Should we try and help him?'' asked Allan to his partner. ''Cyndaaa.'' said Ignys with enthusiasm. The Pokémon was gathering is breath, preparing to launch an Ember attack, when he heard Allan's command. ''Stop, if you blew any fire on the tree, it may start a whole forest fire...and since we don't have water Pokémon has a partner yet, we won't be able to put it out. Beside, I don't think that Mankey want that fruit burned to a crisp.'' ''Quill...'' said Ignys. He seem a little down so Allan decided to cheer him up a bit. ''It wasn't a bad idea, Ignys, but we need to find another solution.'' said Allan while thinking about another attack he could use to get the fruit...without arming anything around it or the fruit itself. Hmm...maybe we could try a Swift attack...but then again, Ignys isn't experienced enough to pull such a move...why not try some of that Mankey's move, then? That's when Allan noticed that the Mankey was climbing the tree again. He was almost near the fruit bearing branch of the tree...but like before, Allan knew what would happen again. The branch couldn't old the Pokémon's weight before...but their could be a way around that small detail. Even so, he admired the Pokémon's determination. ''Mankey.'' yelled Allan. The Mankey stop near the branch, glancing down at the human who dared interrupt his ascension. Allan could have swear he was getting angry. ''Use your Karate Chop on the tree's branch, but hit the thick part of it. I trust your strength and your determination will be rewarded.'' yelled Allan. ''Let's get ready to catch the fruit.'' said Allan to Ignys. The fiery Pokémon let out a grunt, meaning that he was ready to catch it, too. The Mankey, who show up some reluctance to do what Allan just told him, used his Karate Chop effectively on the branch. The impact shocked the branch and the fruit was release from it's hold. Allan and Ignys tried to catch the falling fruit, but only Ignys manage to catch the fruit. ''Good work, little fellow.'' said Allan with a cheerful voice. ''Quillll.'' said Ignys in reply. Meanwhile the Mankey was climbing down the tree. Once he was done with it, the Pokémon look at Ignys with a strange emotion. He appeared to be frustrated, both of his paws crossed. I wonder what's wrong with him. I mean, we did a teamwork effort to get that fruit...but that determination. I get it. He wanted get the fruit all by himself. He got some pride. ''Listen, Ignys, I think that Mankey want to challenge you for the fruit.'' said Allan, and he was right, has the Mankey stood in a fighting position, taunting the Cyndaquil with one of his paws. He was Leering at Ignys menacingly. Ignys dropped the fruit he was holding in his mouth, mentally preparing himself while Leering back at his opponent. With a sudden and fast charge, the Mankey attempt to Scratch Ignys, who barely dodge the attack. ''Ignys, use smoke screen! Followed by a Tackle attack!'' said Allan. With a deep breath, the Cyndaquil unleashed a thick wall of smoke, squarely on the Mankey's face's. The Cyndaquil quickly entered the smoky screen, using that small diversion to attack the Mankey. The fighting Pokémon got caught unaware, has he couldn't see his opponent. He was projected a few feet away, landing on it's butt, but quickly got himself, ready for another charge to unleash a barrage of Fury Swipes. Ignys, managed to dodge a few of them, but was still damage by the attack. ''Ignys! Use Ember!'' said Allan. The flame on the back of the Cyndaquil suddenly grew in size and intensity, has the Cyndaquil mouth open to release a small stream of fire. To close to dodge it, the Mankey took the attack squarely on the face. The Mankey collapsed on his butt, defeated. Ignys didn't come out of the battle unscathed either, has he appeared to have quite a few bruise and scratch here and there. ''I think that's enough. You two have such a fine display of determination when something's at stake.'' said Allan while picking up the fruit. He walked toward the Mankey, giving him the fruit. ''You've earned it. Drop the pride already, your are strong. I'm sure Ignys will agree with me.'' said Allan while the Mankey took the fruit and started eating it, stopping halfway to give half the fruit to Ignys. The Cyndaquil had a cheerful expression on his face has he gladly accepted the gift. ''While you guys get to know each other a bit, I think I'll get some dry wood so we can make a fire camp. Of course, you don't have to stay with us Mankey, your are free to go whenever you want.'' I wonder if he will want to join our team. We did best him in combat...yet, it also seem like a draw. They need some time to rest a bit. A good ten minutes later, Allan was back to the spot where he left the two Pokémon. To his relief, the two were still there, waiting for him to come back with a pile of dry wood. Allan dropped his backpack on the ground, letting out sight of relief. The two Pokémon curiously watched him, has he dig out a hole in the clearing, surrounding it with various shaped stone he manage to find around. Allan carefully place the pile of wood in the hole and slowly but surely start a fire by rubbing two stick together. He didn't want Ignys to spend any more energy on that. Snapping the leather belt that hold is sleeping bag, Allan got near the tree and deployed is large sleeping at the foot of it. A large pillow was inside it and quickly got it out, so his head wouldn't have to rest on the hard, dirt....well not only his, has the two Pokémon got close to him, has he decided to lie on the sleeping bag for now. The 3 individuals were staring at the fire, when Allan senses spotted something in the darkness of the night... Edited by Arian Grey, Aug 8 2012, 05:26 PM.
