We can do what we always thought was the impossible
|
I believe setting a goal and aiming to keep to it is better than proposing an entire Constitution that we cannot streamline piece by piece. It was done in the Walbard Union (with unfortunately a President who wanted to rush it rather than insert the necessary clauses if I may add than fully review the document) and it worked well thereafter (with amendments that is )Do you think the following would suit: 1. Preamble 2. Monarchy and the Royal Family (Detail of Powers included.) 3. Executive 4. Legislature 5. Judiciary 6. Amendments to the Constitution Nothing more, nothing less. We can add through statutory Law a Charter of Human Rights along with additional Judicial clarification and powers if needed. The Constitution is a founding document and is something the United States I believe overburdens in reality. It is not meant to be so 'dramatically abused'. Which unfortunately in real life and other regions it is. So, without further rambling, what do you say of the proposed Articles for the Constitutional draft? |

I think that this is a great starting outline for our constitution and we should get to work on it. I would also suggest that we write a bill of rights, but that can be done after we write the constitution |

I am entirely in favor. We do not simply need to go with the constitution format because it is the norm. I like Mr. Jefferson's proposed amendment. |

Lord Chief Justice
|
I have been granted the honour of taking part in this debate, even though it is to take place in the House of Commons; and I am not an MP. However, as Lord Chief Justice it was believed that I may offer guidance in some parts and make suggestions in others. May it be noted by hansard that I too am in favour of the proposals made my Mr. Franklin. With your kind permission gentlemen, I believe we should begin as soon as possible. |

So shall we begin... The preamble: The Kingdom of Albion hereby establishes this constitution in order to create the relationship between citizens, the government, and the royal family. This constitution is also the highest law in the land and will design the basic structure of The Kingdom of Albion's government. |

And I have allowed the Lord Chief Justice to take part in this, in order to give us his legal opinion on all matters |

Lord Chief Justice

Perhaps: WE, the Parliament of the Kingdom of Albion, do hereby establish this constitution so as to properly codify the relationship between the people, the Government and the Monarchy. Just a suggestion, of course. Edited by George Lansbury, Nov 30 2010, 12:17 AM.

Right Honourable gentlemen, I wish to gage public opinion first for a Statue LawBook instead of a Constitution. Both shall be an option and shall be first be voted for by the entire region. Then I believe we should continue. So I motion to suspend until this has been sorted. |
