I'm pretty sure that I would be able to run the game if I upgraded my graphics card to something that works with Vertex Shader 3.0 (not like the Radeon 9600 that I have now.) |

Yeah I could see that happening. It's a great game once you understand all the little tabs and where everything is. Unfortunately the tutorials only scrape the surface, so I went on the EU III wiki and found some reference guides. Currently I'm playing a Mantua game, and I've managed to annex ferrera and Modena rather easily with great missions. |

Anyone tried Evil Genius? Just finished downloading it a while ago, and so far I'm quite happy with the game. Any of you guys familiar with it? |

After playing the demo about a million times and reading through the wiki a bit, I have a pretty good idea of where everything is; but in the demo there's not much incentive to play one nation through a whole campaign (15 years in the demo) because you can't really make major plans for the future and fairly minor problems can wreak you because there's not much time to recover. What I really want to try doing (assuming Steam can do something about DW being automatically installed) is play Bohemia or Austria and unite the HRE. |

Yeah, Austria is a good one. I like using some lesser known HRE nations like the Palatinate or you could even use Burgandy. In my Mantua campaign burgundy became HRE pretty quick |

Eh, I figure for my first time through its better to use a bigger, more powerful country that has a better chance of turning the Electors into vassals than, say Burgundy or the Palatinate. |

Yeah, your right. When I was the Palatinate I had trouble because it's so dang small. About halfway into the game I finally was able to get rid of the "too small" negative voting effect. Once I got there though It was pretty smooth sailing. I had to use the grand army idea in order to enact my wars of conquest over my fellow German OPMs, I pretty much had two armies on my home cores, and one army marching around foreign soil. |

The other countries that I want to try playing as (although probably not on my first time through, because of their tech group) are either Muscovy or Novgorod. Have any good anecdotes about them? I can't play them in the demo so I have no idea what to expect.

I played as Novgorod, mainly because they were bigger than Muscovy. I waited until after a major Muscovy/Golden Horde war to attack Muscovy, and after a few wars I had annexed all of Muscovy. By the time I was done with the Muscovites the Golden Horde had already been carved up by smaller nations. I slowly moved east until I had most of modern Russia, which I had already formed. I allied with Genoa after my badboy was in a manageable level, and prepared to move west. I dominated the ottomans in the Balkans, and gave most of turkey to Genoa. That was about where I quit because I got bored. You could do many different things though, like colonize. There's something cool about Russian Africa. You could also move a lot further west than I did, I only wen to about modern day Germany. Imagine owning all of Europe. That'd be cool |

Great, I finally get a reply back from Steam support (after a week) and they tell me to contact Paradox Interactive's support. Because PI's support can totally remove DLCs from my Steam account... I'm really considering buying the game (again) from another vendor (Direct2Drive seems to have the best price). |
