(I'm very very VERY good at making fake languages. Or, at least, I think I am. I like to dazzle people with stuff like this. The only problem is, it really hurts my brain to think of this stuff, because it's HARD. You have to basically make up new words and then have them sound a certain way.) |

I would have guessed that a language called "Livonian" would be based off of a Baltic language like.. well.. like the Livonian language. This place never ceases to surprise me. |

Well, that's the thing. I thought I came up with this awesome, kick-ass name for my Byzantine Empire-inspired country way back when about 2-3 years ago, when I hit upon Livonia. And I was like, "YEAH, THIS IS GONNA BE AWESOME". And I totally forgot that there is not only a Livonia in the Baltic region, but also the crusading Livonian Order. Go figure. Oh well, it just SOUNDS nice. |

The primary language spoken in Velykyy is Zakhid, a language very similar to that of Githan, though with some differences. It is the descendant of the language spoken by the Zakhid whom migrated into Velykyy in 1000 CE, changed by time and the incorporation of terms used by the languages of the Khalan and Hythian groups. It utilizes the same alphabet as Githan, but is rarely spoken outside of Velykyy, except by any Zakhid minorities in other nations. The official language of Rahab is Kanite (Real World equivalent: Imperial Aramaic) While it is not required most Rahabites know Navis. Several indigenous groups in Rahab speak dialects of Ramic called Maic, Fonan and Hite (Real World Equivalents: Various Akkadian dialects) Edited by Rahab, Nov 7 2012, 07:10 PM.

The official language of Ruthenia is, go figure, Ruthenian. It's a mixture of Zakhid, Hythian, Kahlan, Standard Githan, and Tribal Languages. It developed as a language over the years under Tzar Vladek's reign of greatness and prosperity, as well as his descendents. |

As Delminia is a multinational state, there are various languages spoken. Illyrian is spoken mainly in the country's north (in the Socialist Republic of Illyria), but there are smaller Illyrian speaking communites nearly everywhere in Delminia. It's written in the Ceruberusian alphabet. (Illyrian = Albanian) Luzo-Dragonian is spoken in most of the nation's regions. It can be divided into several dialects: Luzian and Monterojin are both written in Cyrillic, whereas Dragonian is written in Ceruberusian. Bregavian can be written in both alphabets, depending on the region. However, speakers of all the four dialects can interact without any language problems. (Luzo-Dragonian = Serbo-Croatian; Bregavian = Bosnian, Dragonian = Croatian, Luzian = Serbian, Monterojin = Montenegrin) Savian is the third official language and spoken in the country's south (in the Socialist Republic of Savia). It shares many similarities with Luzo-Dragonian, but there are also differences. It's written in Ceruberusian. (Savian = Slovenian) Though not being an official language, Domari should be mentioned, too, as this language is spoken in nearly every corner of Delminia by smaller communites. (Domari = Romani) |
