Friday is our one month anniversary. Woooo! Just a few weeks ago a small band of refugees from a dying region set out to found a new world with nothing more than a blank map and a handful of nations that were nothing more than names. I'm completely amazed by how much we've done since then. I'm not even going to try to list all the great contributions you all have made to the region. Every active member on the forums has brought something unique to Alterra. You all are as creative and fun a group as we could have possibly hoped for. Thank you for everything that you've done. In the first SoA I had a list of agenda items to discuss. This time I think I'm just going to leave it completely open. What do you like or not like about Alterra, what could we change or do better. How can we make it easier for new people. Anything you want to discuss about how the region is going and where you think we should head. The floor is open. |

I think it would be cool if we had the zbAIO v2 software for a monetary system. That way, we could donate We could also add some new themes onto the board. On this board, you could shop for themes; of particular interest (in my opinion) would be the ones entitled Timbertina and Pure Shores (a fall and summer-type theme, in my opinion, respectively), but there are other great ones as well. I'd leave the admins to the decision. Other than that, I really love this place.

Over the years, I've seen many attempts to start Regional Economies. They are labour intensive and require much diligence on the part of whomever is appointed the Finance Minister. In the end, every one that I've seen has failed, some sooner than others, but the outcome was the same.

I think the main priorities at the moment should be to keep up the recruitment drive, and focus on laying the groundwork of Alterran History, Geography etc. While the framework is pretty much there, I think we're still going to need to work in a lot more detail before we can focus elsewhere. |

I have to say that I'm really impressed with the progress we've made and the growth. We're all obviously different people and we work together wonderfully. I am a little worried that the roleplaying seems to have stagnated, but we're also focusing on common history, so it's understandable. I have to agree that regional economies aren't the best idea. The last attempt couldn't even agree on what we would use to "generate" currency. Most video games don't integrate an artificial economy well, so I don't think we will do much better. |

I suspect by the time I showed up, you'd already worked out the biggest bugs. So congratulations on looking like you know what you're doing. |

Points made so far: Board Economy: Most people seem against it so far. I have no experience with it so I'll go with that. New Theme: Yeah, I hate the default colors. They look like they came off a 1970's NFL uniform. I have no knowledge of how to do it though. Also how easy is to add your own graphics for buttons and things. I think modifying one to be Alterra specific would be fun. Roleplaying: Trying it this soon is kind of an experiment. I'm not too concerned at the moment but eventually we'll need to breath more life into it. Writing History: My favorite part. I love what we've done so far and I think this is what makes Alterra unique. There are lots of rp regions but nothing quite like this. Only problem is that it's getting so complicated so fast that I think it can be really confusing and intimidating to newcomers. We're going to need historical summaries, a timeline (I started one but it's not very successful so far), a glossary, and a basic faq. Most of the questions I get from new people are “How do I start?” and basic info like “What year is on Alterra?”. Any ideas on how we can make Alterra less of an impenetrable jungle? |

I think when we get everything settled down and we summarize it in an easy to find and read thread, things will be better. Until then, we're just going to be messy because we're still figuring it out. |

I have experience on using themes, and it's quite simple- you copy/paste the codes and place them in the respective sections. I don't know how to make graphics, I just know how to use them; on the board I linked you all, some themes might have the image codes, and some you might have to download. With the majority of them, you have to download. I hate it myself, because it takes much more time, but to each his own. I also don't know how to make themes. I am an amateur, in other words. |

The major settings for the boar themes are in the Board Headers, Footers and the CSS. There are several other sites around for the themes besides the Board's home forums. |
