Slostian Augustus

This is a thread to post names that are common in your nation, so that anybody that needs to make a character of your nationality won't have a John Smith among a host of more exotic names. Slostian Names Male First Names Gistado Adastall Asaio Laridus Novigo Vagne Oro Lorino Bericus Aricus Renzo Philemon Mannetto Auso Marzo Rilo Female First Names Gistada Hansa Cianani Salva Liandagia Nanore Lora Nanita Mida Lora Nanita Teta Sede Naviavi Miliarmi Amia Danaza Last Names Micioro Anius Doreri Wint Potezem Villiussi Vagoster Rano Cantacald Atenbert Migliozzo Malo Lonhald Vanni Gorola Tenguerrin Miguari Torego Burlettin (Note: If these sound familiar, its because I took most of them from my History and Government Ministers.) For Neo-Esprits or Neo-Orchyrians (about 55% of the population) any French or British last name will do. There are a lot of common first names that are no longer popular in Hesperia so you tend to find a lot of old fashioned sounding names like Ulysses or Mathilda. Neolantia has generally had a pro-immigration policy so just about any combination of names is possible. If you meet a Guillermo Chang or Ntombi Pfeiffer there's a pretty good chance that they're a Neolantian. |

Etat Libre d'Esprit
|
Becuase Etat Libre d'Esprit is a french-esque country, all the names will be french, but there has been a current trend to use double barrel names In the minority afrikaans comunity there are a lot of french last names, but first names tend to be more dutch in flavour. And Ntombi Pfeiffer? That is just too strange for me to handle, maybe its just me, and not wanting to sound racisit or anything don't get me wrong, but are traditional african names really that popular in the US or EU? It would just be strange to meet a Guguletu Johnson or Gabasthaone McCormick? Just a bit strange...that said I can't stand ny first name either, no one can ever pronounce it...nor my last name its horrible! |

Little bit of a necropost, but this is relevant. British and German names are the most common, French names happen sometimes, but Russian names are becoming more prominent. |

Rakhid have Slavic names, Hythians have Georgian names, and Khalan have Mongolian names. I didn't want to make lists, because that'd end up being 9 separate lists. |

Generally speaking, Livonian names follow in the greek manner, although with some minor roman influences thrown in. In addition, most of their names more hew to more "archaic" versions of the greek way of saying them. A good solid chunk of the nation is a member of one royal family or another, so royal family names, such as Lascaris, Agapimenous, and Belisarias are actually not really that rare, although there are certain "proofs" which are required in order to become Baslieus that prevents good ol' Gio Belisarias from just getting the throne at the drop of a hat. |
