Neztec names have the given and middle name joined by a dash. It is not common for Neztec citizens to not have a family name of a middle name especially among the lower classes. Neztec names are usually obtained from Aztec, Zapotec, Mixtec, Mayan, Olmec, Inca, Navajo, and Carib origins. Basically my names can be from any civilization that existed in the America's pre-colonial times. Florinthian names Any first name works really. The last names are specific. If the character is Florinthian, AKA from one of the Florinthian state, the last name is remotely generic, whatever you want it to be. If the character is Galeaen, AKA from the eastern portion of the nation (the kingdom of Galeae) then the last names are unique. Here are some examples: Ve'Saan Re'Dil Sa'Mere Fen'Gaa Ve'Baal Saan,Di Basically, you have a first portion,(Me, De, Ve, Sa, Va, Mi, Fen, Faan, Saan, Vaan, Den, Daan, etc.) then an apostrophe is put between it and the second portion example: (Saan, Dil, Mere, Mer, Vaan, Gaa, Baal, Di, Se, Mil, Vene, Daan, etc.) The first portion stands for the persons family line/ancestors, their "clan" so to speak. The second portion is more specific, which can be used to represent closer family ties, a married name, or even a connection to a notable ancestor. In specific cases, a third portion can be added as a reward for extreme valor or integrity by decree of the king or other noble of equal status. For example, Deryn Ve'Saan led the Galean military forces to a major military victory in which he captures the opposing kingdoms king and routs the opposing army, so in recognition of this monumental event, he is given the title Vei, which makes the his full name Deryn Ve'Saan'Vei. To have this happen is an incredible honor, akin to being knighted, although it happens far less often then it does in England. No one is getting a nominal addition for being an artist (I'm looking at you, Sir Paul...) |
